BBD has signed for Villarreal. He can’t go anywhere but there.
-
Been given a new name tonight - not a usual source, so don’t hold it against me if it’s wrong. Supposedly was being discussed at the U21 game tonight. Thought it was worth posting incase. Samuel Iling-Junior - England Youth, Ex Chelsea, now at Juve. I’d assume a potential loan. He plays anywhere across left wing, right wing or striker. Also played left wing back.
-
How many millions have you paid the BBC for that report?
-
We’d have a lot more options if we’d have sold BBD for 8.8M in summer like I recommended. Can’t moan now that we don’t have any money when we turned down enough to buy a good winger and striker. Just saying.
-
Not very, don’t want him.
-
Nope — I’ll be donating £10 to a @RevidgeBlue charity I suspect. I was told: They thought that had Haikan in, with Pears going to Pompy. Pompy then decided to get the Luton keeper instead, which stopped Haikan. They thought they were well ahead with Porteous and when Hyam got injured decided to get it done now. Seems like he’s going to Watford instead. Undav was first choice but he’s decided he thinks he can break into the Brighton team rather than go on loan and they’re happy for him to try as we where only covering a small bit of his wage. Then they were moving on to their fourth target, who turned out to be Sorba Thomas (I didn’t get a name). Ironically Thomas is the first one over the line and when I was told the above I didn’t even get a name for who it was because it was only just progressing. Also got the name Ramsay from Liverpool on loan as cover at right back allowing JRC to go on loan until the end of the season whilst he’s playing well. But haven’t heard that since.

Project signings are a thing of the past really with the latest FFP.
-
Undav isn’t happening, change of plan at the Brighton end. They’re now trying to work out if they have let someone else take pole position with Geldhart.
-
Its Sorba Thomas on loan. Done and dusted.
-
Haha - I mean I said BBD to Villareal was done before most media and now i'm calling 2 new signings before Saturdays game. I'll likely be wrong because its still early and hard to predict the future but I'll gamble on the below before Saturday: 1) We'll sign one player that hasn't been mentioned in the press as a target yet (all I've got - been told I 'can't have a name but the name hasn't been put in the press yet') 2) We'll sign one of Gerdalt / Undav on loan aligned to Vilarreal announcing BBD on a pre-contract to try and soften the blow

J*B is 1 for 1 in the transfer window and is going for 2!
-
You’re the only one that has so far - we have a deal.
-
It’s his side, not ours!
-
I think we’ll sign two before Saturdays game, three if we can move Pears on. Again, might be wrong.
-
City play 433 almost every game!
-
I bet you a charity £10 we sign at least two players before our next game 🙂
-
They don’t want Pears on the books. They want Pears to have a good second half of the season on loan somewhere so they can sell him in the summer. JDT wants Haikan and Kaminski with a young one as third choice.
-
In principle yes but it’s more complicated than that. Pears going out on loan freed enough money up to sign Haikan. Pears didn’t go (might still go), so they can’t afford to sign Haikan because 1) they would have five keepers on the payroll 2) that budget would have knock on effects about which striker / other players they can sign. They have plenty of options all lined up and know the costs, all the ones we know plus a few others eg Ramsay who could become available. But the combination of which ones we sign relies on the total amount of them all combined. It’s like when you see those graphics where it’s “assemble a five a side team for £10” and you can sign Mbappe he’s priced at £5, meaning your other 4 players can only be £5.
-
If they sign a right back it’ll be Ramsay from Liverpool on loan. The problem at Rovers is the playing budget is so small they can’t press ‘go’ until they know they can press go on multiple deals. Both incoming and outgoing. Which is why JDT is pissed off that we can’t sign his former no1 keeper because Pompy suddenly decided they wanted someone else and gave back word. There’s a few very close (so I’m told, but again, I’ve been wrong many times) but there’s lots of knock on effects.

v Bristol City (a) - 21/1/23

Not that I agree with it, but I don't think JDT wants a player moving forwards with the ball like Rothwell did. If he had his way I think he'd play Buckley and Morton in centre midfield and their entire remit is receive the ball and move it forwards quickly. -

If Joe wants to hear someone else getting as much abuse as Vale, he should come sit near @RevidgeBlue and hear him talk about Gally. -
Talking about whether Sunderland beating Boro has any effect on us is crazy. It has as much effect as Inter Milan beating Verona.
-
And that’s just my point. An ambitious man prices the target at 20,000 ST holders at an affordable price. Waggott’s target is to take advantage of the 8,000 die hards that will pay whatever price because they can’t imagine a world where they don’t watch Rovers at Ewood.
-
All comes down to income and that’s Waggott’s department, not Broughtons. Not enough home fans because the pricing is unaffordable. Not enough being earned outside the ground because the ‘fanzone’ offering is terrible. Not enough being earned at the club shop because there’s no stock. Not enough being earned in the corporate offering because nobody wants to bring clients to a shoddy operation and a stadium in dire need of a refurb. Marketing department don’t have the budget to do anything of worth - no links to Bilbao, no links to The English Game, not taken advantage of Brereton-Diaz mania. There’s not a single bit of this club the town can be excited about. No income from player sales because Waggott put all expenditure, including player contracts, on hold during COVID… so they’re now all leaving for free. We have a CEO who judges success on ‘did I have to ask the owners for anymore money than I said I would need’ rather than on field and local success. He’s not bothered as long as he can tick the box. No risk, no ambition, no outside the box thinking. JDT isn’t the problem. The players aren’t the problem. Broughton isn’t the problem. Waggott OUT should be sung from the Blackburn End but somehow they’ve managed to alienate the fan base that are willing to rock the boat and convince those that remain this is normal. When’s the next supporters consultation? I’m very close to assembling a team of people that can’t bear that man’s shit anymore.

I wouldn’t take Geldhart simply because Leeds forced us to pay 20K / week towards that bum right winger they gave us last season despite him being injured and rehabbing at Leeds. They’ve got a high esteem issue over at Leeds, I’d much rather work with Brighton.
