  1. I thought we played really, really well in the first half last night. We could have easily gone in at half time 3-0 up. I could see identity and a clear approach to the match and thought Dack, Hedges, Buckley, JRC and Pickering where standout players. However Boro let us play like that. I’ve never questioned that we are capable of that. It’s when we play a team pressing us and putting challenges in we have a breakdown. We don’t like it when we can’t play how we like.
  2. That’s not what the pundits on Sky said.
  3. Who would you replace to bring Travis on? We needed a goal, may as well go for broke. Hedges was marking Giles out the game. Dack is capable of a goal. Gallagher does so much for this team unnoticed - and I’m not sure how taking a striker off for a midfielder would have gone done. BBD is the big goal threat.
  4. Their fans are, in that case, bonkers. Dyche is the man for that job.
  5. A club like Burnley (and Rovers) will always struggle to survive in the modern Premier League. Even if you get every single decision right, ultimately, someone will poach your best players, manager, DOF and you can’t get every decision right forever. You’ll go up this year, may well win the league, but as you say next year will be a battle. As a spectacle I’m very much of the opinion that watching your team winning in the Championship is more fun than watching your team struggle to compete in the Premier League. The sooner the European League comes the better.
  6. I don’t think there ref had any choice, I’m not sure if you saw the Sky Sports News pundits explaining it but it’s clear as day. If you throw a ball at a player recklessly (recklessly is defined pretty much as accidentally) then it’s a yellow card. If you throw a ball at a player with excessive force (ie at someone’s head, on purpose) then it’s a red card. Nobody at Rovers has made any mention of appealing the decision… because it’s the right one. As a rule it’s a stupid one, it obviously didn’t hurt the player, it was meaningless, but they’re the rules. The person responsible for your (our) ruined evening at Rovers and waste of money is John Buckley, who gave the referee a decision to make. He was elbowed prior, which everyone missed but was a yellow card and reacted by throwing the ball at the opposition. It’s petulance and childish and from where I was sitting cost us the game.
  7. I don’t think the management have/had any idea what Rovers vs. Burnley means to the local lads.
  8. Adam was gutted that he wasn’t in the first eleven against Burnley. He was pissed off he wasn’t in the squad. He was upset when he was told he wasn’t allowed to sit on the bench with the squad. He was furious when he was told he wasn’t allowed to travel with the squad. He called his management when he was told he couldn’t even get a ticket to the game. His personality is going to take some serious management but the player is worth it. If we don’t do it, someone else will.
  9. No he won’t. It’s violent conduct, three match ban.
  10. We were much better than this lot tonight. Even at 1-1 with 11 players we’d have at least stood a good chance of getting three points. This result is entirely on John Buckleys petulance. JDT needs to urgently sit around the table with Wharton and make friends. Adam needs to grow up.
  11. When you speak to the club about STs, they consistently say “there are thousands of fans that will not come back to this club under Venkys ownership, for whatever reason”. As far as I can see, they use Venkys as an excuse when explaining to Venkys why they generate so little income. And it’s nonsense. There are probably hundreds now that don’t turn up simply because of Venkys. The rest are people that have found something else to do until they can be enticed back or don’t feel important because nobody is making any effort for them to come back.
  12. TARGET: 1,500 SALES ORDERED: 1,500 KITS SOLD: 1,500 KITS JOB DONE.
  13. That’s frustrating, I was going to buy the drill top from the 88-89 range tomorrow before the game.
  14. I think you’re right. Venkys have seen the 200M on offer for promotion to the Premier League and instead prioritised selling Ash Phillips for 15M in 2 years.
  15. They’re trying my patience
  16. Or the Twitter logo top right.
  17. I also suggested we sold our current back up player (JRC), to be fair. I’m suggesting we buy a better player than JRC so it isn’t as much as a weak spot if our first choice (Brittain) is out. As much as I’d like to only improve the first team, I don’t think that’s viable with our budget.
  18. Jesus, he’s only 5 ft 6? It felt like he was 6 ft 3 when he dominated our midfield.
  19. Well yes, but I also spend about 40 hours a month working unpaid on a football forum that turns a profit every month. So if anyone’s good at wasting their time, it’s me.
  20. You didn’t read the first sentence Matty!
  21. Well, I’d go something like… RWB: Back up player, less than 1M LWB: Back up player, less than 1M CM: What’s that big angry central midfielder called at Coventry? What does he cost? 5M? Forward: Would have to be a loan.
  22. Well then, it’s that time again…let’s pretend it’s football manager. GOOD ENOUGH Kaminski Brittain Pickering Ayala Hyam Wharton Carter Dolan Hedges A. Wharton Gallagher BBD CAN ACCEPT Pears Eastham Phillips Morton Szmodics Buckley Travis MUST LEAVE LOAN Hilton Garratt Markanday MUST LEAVE Edun - has been terrible since he signed JRC - two good games doesn’t do enough to forget the years of crap Mola - his Rovers career was over after Burnley Dack - I still think he has something but if the manager doesn’t he’s an expensive waste Hirst - one of the worst strikers I’ve seen here Vale - for me, as bad as Hirst That means, if life was simple, we need as a minimum: 1X CM 1x LWB 1x RWB 2X Forward
  23. I thought we should have gone 532 during the second half to see it out too, Chaddy.
  24. Jesus what a way to ruin Christmas that would be.
