  1. disgustful behaviour last night by 2 Sheffield Wednesday fans. The club has condemned them and the Police are investigating https://x.com/TheSunFootball/status/1708200036990062757?s=20 Sheffield Wednesday were truly awful last night and its looks a very toxic club and atmosphere last night.
  2. https://x.com/SkySportsPL/status/1708199879493779508?s=20
  3. No I don't agree. Its the PL and its clubs who generated the money from TV rights and its right IMO that they keep most of the money. They are looking at giving more money to EFL clubs in the future and even selling their TV rights together. VAR only asked the ref to look at it again, its down to the Ref on the field to make the decision. on the red card, I can see why they given the red card, but this is why we need an ex Pro Footballer in the VAR room or even an ex manager Richard keys and Andy Gray on Bein Sports have been saying it was onside https://x.com/beINSPORTS_EN/status/1708174143491883224?s=20
  4. given that we were on TV about 20 times last season, I am left wondering why Rovers CEO and commercial department weren't able to secure a better commercial main sponsor for shirts and training wear plus more sponsors to advertise around Ewood Park
  5. Sheffield Wednesday were awful last night. No passion, pride and desire in that performance. Looking like relegation for that
  6. My team after hearing Leonard is out. Wahlstedt Brittain Hill Hyam Pickering Travis Tronstad Wharton Moran Szmodics Sigurdsson
  7. I can't see JDT wanted to change his attacking style and wanting to play on the front foot. my team would be Wahlstedt Brittain Hill Hyam Pickering Wharton Tronstad Szmodics Moran Leonard Sigurdsson subs:- Pears Carter JRC Wharton Travis Garrett Markanday Telalovic Dolan
  8. Agreed there. JDT lives in the Ribble Valley and he has embraced the area.
  9. Rovers scouted him and I think Telalovic will need time to learn but JDT is good at improving players. Telalovic is work in progress. Gallagher last night on Radio Lancs said he felt sorry for him cos we didn't play to his strengths. Telalovic is work in progress. Just look at much Harry Leonard has learnt, developed and improved in the last 12 months due to JDT's influence and other coaches working with him JDT made a comment on Radio Lancs post match about prices being too high to buy. JDT clearly understand the fans and the way he has embraced the area, the fanbase and interaction with the fans is a joy to see and I am proud he is Rovers head coach
  10. More than happy to welcome you back to the Forum Abbey Rovers could have offered free tickets to schools, families financially struggling at the minute, etc. Plus reduce the food prices like Newcastle did yesterday.
  11. I rather have PL football every week and season than win the cup and been in League 1 right now. same here, didn't go which I felt wrong for not attending but thought my stance was right and still do. Last night game was a great opportunity for the club to grow the fan base, reduce food prices(like Newcastle did), etc but Waggott and Rovers didn't do that. No dynamic approach or forward thinking from them very true, no problem with Totally Wicked wanting to sponsor the club but the club should have be able to find a proper sponsor who will paid more than Totally Wicked
  12. why would they get more than they did when they weren't PL club and part of bring in that revenue? That's my point
  13. how will you replace John Murray and what will the process be?
  14. Exactly, Without Jack Walker buying Rovers, investing and spending his own money on the club to improve it and take us to the PL and to win the PL. Newcastle are investing their own money on the club from the owners, they aren't using bank loans or debt to buy the club like Glazers did with Man Utd or Hicks and Gillet with Liverpool. If the Walker family hadn't sold Rovers when they did and kept it under their control and let John Williams and Tom Finn keep running the club and especially when the New TV deal kick in and would have help maintain Rovers as a PL club. Yes Williams and Finn would have had to make the right managerial appointments but I believe they would have do Man City, and Newcastle don't do that but Chelsea are doing that so I can see your point. Some of the asking prices Chelsea were supposedly rumoured to be asking for were OTT by far. I posted this morning what the PL were rumoured to be paying the EFL over a 6 years period
  15. I don't think PL is boring or uncompetitive at all. I thoroughly enjoyed the North London derby on Sunday and Newcastle put Sheffield United to the sword and keep wanted to score more goals even being up at 3 nil up at Half time. Just like we have done in past. The PL have stop any English team from ever joining by the new rules they passed. Premier League brings in new rules to prevent ESL repeat - SportsPro (sportspromedia.com) European Super League: Key questions answered as fresh plans for competition announced | Football News | Sky Sports No it's ain't. Man City got an extra £52.5m than Norwich did in the 21/22 season. Here is a breakdown to what payments they received from the PL Premier League value of central payments to clubs 2021/22
  16. I would say getting 3 points against Leicester and the playoff place at the season is more important. League has to be priority every time whilst having a good cup run but the league matters first.
  17. I have nowhere said that the PL shouldn't redistribute their income but the baulk should remain with PL clubs who generate that money from TV rights, sponsorship, etc. Euro Super League is being pushed by 3 European clubs in Real Madrid, Juventus and Barcelona are the ones who pushed this idea cos of the own financial mess at those clubs where PL clubs aren't in that sort of Financial mess and with many of those clubs have wealthy owners who put their own money into those clubs
  18. They spent £65m on new signings. Yes that sound like they are skint. I deffo wouldn't. I would enjoy the win just like any other win. why not? They are spending their own money from their owners not loaning it from a bank like Glazers did. Our owner Jack Walker spent his own money on the club and if I owned Rovers and wanting to spend my own money on the club and improve the club on and off the field why shouldn't be allow? We struggled to complete in terms of money cos we don't generate enough of our own money whether through Players sales or off the field income through sponsorship, ticket income or shop sales. Our owners haven't look at that side of club enough and employed the right off the field appointments like a forward thinking modern CEO who will think outside the box to improve the commercial operation massively. If the European Super League was to happened which I don't ever think it will cos the PL clubs aren't the ones pushing for it but instead it's Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus who don't have the income that PL teams and don't generate the sort of revenue from TV rights. Barcelona are in over £1bn worth of debt. PL clubs aren't and never cant be down to PL financial rules. Brighton model looks fantastic looking from the outside and the appointment of De Zebri has taken the club to another level. He is top manager and will move on from Brighton next summer to a big club. Brighton will already have a shortlist of replacements for him and there did when Potter left for Chelsea, De Zebri was the first choice and they got him. Yes I agree that the PL should distribution some of the money generate by them to the EFL but without the PL generated that income they would be no money to distribution to the EFL. Reading recent reports it appears that £915m will be given to EFL in a six years deal. Under a blueprint outlined to Premier League clubs on Thursday, the New Deal would run for six years, commencing immediately with an £88m handout to the English Football League (EFL) in the first year, rising to £190m in the 2028-29 season, the final 12 months of the period. The seasons in between would see payments of £101m, £174m, £178m and £184m, £915m football 'New Deal' faces delay amid fears over regulator | Business News | Sky News Plus factoring in the new TV deal for EFL for next year aswell which is about £4m a year
  19. Him being taken off at half time was pre planned. For me, Leicester game is the more important than Cardiff game. He shown his quality and hopefully we can build on it with him playing more and scoring goals
  20. The point still stands. Even at Championship levels teams set up the same way. That's the modern day way. he does. That why JDT keeps picking him. I rated Hedges and I would pick him in most games currently if fit
  21. Has Sheffield United recruitment actually improve their squad? They sold their best player to Marseille in the summer. If Rovers have been bought by the same owners as Newcastle United by improving the club training factilities, spend money on transfers and appointed a good manager you would be complaining right now about beating a team 8 nil? Newcastle have bought talent players like Isak, Guirmaraes but also signed Good English players like Gordon, Barnes, Tripper, Hall. Chelsea have been much worst and I would say their recruitment since last summer takeover as been not good enough. no its ain't time for the European Super League as the fans don't want it as they made it clear. Brighton and Brentford are 2 great examples of how to build a club to be successful and sustainability PL club like we did in the 00's under John Williams time at the club. I don't get why the PL clubs should distribute the cash evenly given that its the PL and the teams playing in the competition attract the TV rights, sponsorship, greater income.
  22. who are these proven quality signings they signed?
  23. Thanks for the reply. Much apprenticed injured I think
  24. Wahlstedt JRC Hill Wharton Batty Tronstad Garrett Markanday Moran Dolan Telalovic
  25. I highlighted that your point is wrong. They have been others time aswell but Brittain should be overlapping allowing Hedges to cut inside. The days of right footed on the right and left footed on the left have gone. You seen that with Spurs, Arsenal, Newcastle and Man City all playing with left footed on the right and right footed on the left. This is modern day football
