  1. Plenty of good managers out there whether in work or out of work That's is what I thought for a while. Wonder if Rovers are actively speaking to managers right now
  2. Only came back into training on Monday after illness.
  3. Exactly he did say that. After 3 years at this level and after the financial backing he has we should have promote or at least been top 6 at least once. He said after we got relegated in a season ticket promotional video 'supporters are the heart beat of this football club, he has seen and felt our passion since the minute I arrived. Your support has been magnificent and stick with us and we do everything we can to renew you with, together we can achieve"
  4. Maybe he waiting for the right Club to go for him? Already explained why Ainsworth should be an option/choice for us as other people like @martonroverhas. I also said people like Alex Neil, Neil Critchley, Ryan Lowe and Chris Wilder should be on the shortlist. Cooper was the one I really wanted to be honest Hughton just been sacked by Forest. No plan B and not tactical aware or motivator we need. Look at the difference Steve Cooper has made there in 5 games with 13 points. Has a Plan B and had motivated the players there with his coaching and man management. That's is what we need here. A manager on the up, fresh ideas, tactical aware, sort the defence out and motivator. What's his Cardiff record this season under McCarthy? What's his plan b?
  5. Fans will voiced their opinion and if we play poorly tomorrow and get beat I would the fans to turn on him. I would expect. I said i think they sack him around the November international football break. I stick with that opinion
  6. Totally agreed and he should be under pressure in my opinion now. Didn't Bristol City take Gary Johnson on? I find people's obsessions with Hughton or McCarthy or Roy Keane totally bizarre. Rovers need a manager with fresh ideas, tactical aware, can sort the defence out and motivate these players to out perform the opposition. Steve Cooper is achachieving that at Forest Yes I heard from Jaquob tonight. I get the feeling he is under pressure from the owners. He knows the club tried to find a replacement and failed with those discussions. But I think he was surprised he was still in the job come pre season. Expect the club will review his position shortly.
  7. If that's happened I would expected the crowd to turn on Mowbray big time.
  8. Exactly correct. Ainsworth has plenty of experience on a tight budget, achieved 2 promotions, gets players motivated and achieving beyond their talent, good eye for a player. Ryan Lowe is another one. Alex Neil is similar. Done a good job at Norwich and Preston. Neil Critchley at Blackpool where he a good job there. Then Wilder is the experience option for us Wilder is only 53 I think so still experience option for us. But it's massive no to Hughton, Bruce, McCarthy, etc Ainsworth would be good choice. Just look at the job he done at Wycombe and he done a great job. He is motivator and passionate man..
  9. Depends who and what the new manager wants and what the club decided. Park has good CV so not sure a new manager wants. If Mowbray goes I expect Venus and Lowe to leave. Damien Johnson has to stay and in a number 2 role possibly decided to Bournemouth when out of contract here and now at Millwall as a squad player.
  10. He was good but excellent is abit far fetch for me. After football return after the first lockdown Rovers were poor as team and Downing was part of it. Given that he had no proper pre-season under him he was always playing catch up and likely to be bit part player sadly. Here is his quote from the interview But the end of the campaign, with a new contract agreed, brought what the player describes as an embarrassing situation. "First year I played nearly every game. We had a lot of injuries and I was playing everywhere and loving it. I felt fit, I didn’t feel I was 36," added Downing. "Come the end of the season we agreed that we would get an extension. And then Covid had hit and we had 10 days before we were going back and I was waiting for the paperwork to come through to sign and they rang me and said that deal is getting pulled. "It was 'we only have a certain amount of budget and I need six or seven players in and you are 37', an afterthought, and I need young players in. "I don’t think it was Mogga, he said to me ‘I am actually embarrassed to make the phone call because they have made the decision but I have to do the phone call.' "He could tell I was p****d off and I said ‘no s***, I have been keeping myself fit all summer and 10 days to go you are telling me there is no deal.’ Also @roversfan99can I just add the Mowbray has been financially backed by the owners in terms of transfer fees, loan deals and free transfers more then enough during the first 3 seasons in Championship to get us top 6 if not promote. You act like he hasn't been backed with any cash. Yes this summer he has the wage budget cut and to make do with few loan signings and 1 small cash signing. But he cannot complain one bit for me. Tho not sure the loan signings of Clarkson, Poveda and Van Hecke was correctly and will prove to be good signings tho let's hope they prove me wrong. Maybe we better signing Williams from Liverpool(on loan at Swansea), Molumby from Brighton(loan at WBA) and then right winger type. But Mowbray selected the players we signed. No one forced him to sign these players. Maybe if Mowbray had spent the money he was given in the first 2 seasons much better and spending on the squad not just 2 players we would maybe in a better position financially
  11. Did he say it was pulled the club owners cos I'm sure on a different podcast/interview he said it was Mowbray and Waggott over budget reasons cos we needed defensive signings first. But re-signing Downing for another season was a waste on money.
  12. Firstly thankyou for the detailed reply Mike and welcome the response. Why was the Armstrong transfer fee 5 million short and based on what? Didn't we received 5 mil for Raya? Agreed on Cairney transfers but not sure we should have got more than their fees for Hanley and Duffy. Well we only getting less than market value for Nyambe and Rothwell due to Contracts length and I don't like it anymore than anyone else but Rothwell has big clubs chasing him so might less sense for him to sign a new contract here. I expect Brereton will be sold in the summer for around 15 million and possible Kaminski for around 4 to 5 million pounds Agree on Johnson point. I would rather have a young, talent squad than a old experience squad. Hoping John Park, the head of recruitment is out there scouting and recommend players. We have a recruitment department so lets hope that is on with finding January transfer targets and looking at Summer transfers transfers. That would required a CEO with expertise but we should be bringing in experience Head of football operations or director of football who would be in charge of these sort of things. I agree that the club should be much better astute in terms of lower ticket prices including Season tickets prices and match day tickets prices. I think ST should be £250 pounds for all areas of the ground apart from Jack Walker upper tier which I would price at £300. Match day prices would be £15 for most games and I would be offering the Preston game for £15 pounds for all areas of Ewood Park in December. The kiosks food and drink is poor and prices are ridiculous now and I refuse to pay it . The food should be much better and we should be offering much more vary types of food like Chips and curry or Slice of pizza. On the club shop, the clubs shirts/kits are over priced and should be available for £30 to 35 pounds and offering a 4xl size aswell. Plus we should be offering Rovers non kit shirts like Dolan shirt or Travis shirt. Both are very popular within the fan base. We need and should be more engage in schools, local kids clubs, etc and we should be offering free shirts, scarfs, books, etc. Plus have open days which they can meet the players and have interaction with them. Totally agreed on Brereton point and I believe it been raised with Fans forum meeting recently. Rovers could employed an external marketing company who has expertise in South America. They are out there and I know one which has the required expertise there. I believe Chilean fans can buy Rovers passes to stream Rovers games fair enough, But I would say we need more sponsorship from local, nation and worldwide companies. Why hasn't Venkys used their contacts within India to find us any sponsor from the Asia market. agreed on the second point Mike. appointing a better CEO who is more accessible to the fans and has been a success at another football club. I did suggested Dane Murphy to replace Waggott as CEO in the summer. He was very successful at Barnsley. Plus employ experience Marketing, communications, sales people. I agree the club should be run much better run and we should be looking to expand our fanbase
  13. I even posted on facebook that it was time to sack him now as we need a new manager with fresh ideas, tactical aware, sort the defence out and motivate the team more. I expected a win against Coventry even tho they were 4th in the league.
  14. Thats where you are wrong tho Matty, I would leave people to make their own decisions on filming or take pictures as its a personal choice.
  15. How could the club make a profit at this level when we have such a high wage bill compare to Turnover Very correct and putting the club into administration is pointless as their owed the vast majority of the debt. Mowbray's tactics and formation wasn't correct and we should gone Positive in 4-3-3 formation and attack them. But Mowbray instead went negative and try to get point. Feel very sorry for Rovers fans who travelled all the way for such a negative performance
  16. I see Owen Dale scored one and assist 2 in the Blackpool 3 2 win against Reading
