  1. why would Rovers have done it deliberately?
  2. Surely the England national team manager should be English?
  3. I just don't understand why you leave a chance of getting promote to PL where head coaches want to manage at the end of the day.
  4. But they will be in the reckon in years to come if they are successful at club level. Also could you please answer thanks how are Howe and Potter only reasonable shouts and who are better shouts then those 2? What happened since I've not been watching it as I have zero interest in either team?
  5. That side would have plenty of skills, clever movement and creativity. I'm more important on what each player brings to the team then just overall form. I wouldn't have started Saka for the Iran game but gone with Foden even tho he scored 2 goals. How are Howe and Potter only reasonable shouts and who are better shouts then? I did say with all fairness that Lampard might be contender if he can improve his Everton team and kick them onto another level into Top 10 side and winning a trophy there would be success for Everton. Gerrard and Rooney might be contenders in years to come if they can become successful at their next job. In Rooney case his next job after DC united The main objective is winning the game and topping this group. I'm not over concerned about who we faced in the next round but more concerned we face in the last 8 stage if we win the round of 16 game, so I would say this game is just as important as the last 2 as we must top the group as the main priority Lampard was never going to turn down the Chelsea job. I did say that Lampard has to kick on now at Everton now. Its was pointless friendly played down under for Commercial reasons. I would also say Everton fans think of themselves as a big fish in the PL pond but they are just mid table PL club who owner as wasted millions after millions on a bunch of poor quality signings plus his managerial appointments have been poor overall like Benitiez, Silva, Allardyce. Ancelotti was an excellent appointment.
  6. what a boring and uninspiring draw that is. I guess the TV companies will be covering these games for sure Manchester City v Chelsea, Oxford United v Arsenal, Manchester United v Everton, Sheffield Wednesday v Newcastle United, Dagenham & Redbridge or Gillingham v Leicester City and possibly Middlesbrough v Brighton & Hove Albion
  7. Hope he enjoys the boring Scottish league for years to come.
  8. Newcastle or Leicester at home please. or even Accrington Stanley at home
  9. do I really need to considering its years since he was in football management and coaching. maybe time to move but think what might had been if certain things hadn't happened
  10. We aren't through at all tho. Such arrogant on show here, we need to win against Wales and top the group which is the priority. We don't know the full situation on Bellingham and maybe he is injury or has a fitness problem, we just don't know but yet again people go over the top without having the full information on the subject. We don't know what the team would be, but I would make a couple of changes but not the 5 changes that Karen Carney suggested on ITV this afternoon in the build-up to the Brazil Switzerland game. my changes would be Grealish and Foden in for Saka and Sterling. I would keep the back 4 in place and the midfield 3 of Mount, Rice and Bellingham, and of course Kane starts. Not really at all desperation that the England national team manager should be English and it's as simple as that. If you disagree fine but I have always believed that and I stand by that. Howe did a fantastic job at Bournemouth for years and He has massively improved Newcastle in terms of tactical but as players there. Potter is a very good coach, and he will improve Chelsea in the coming years I'm sure off that plus did a good job at Brighton playing some great entertaining football. Lampard has done a good job at Derby and Chelsea. He now needs to kick on at Everton and keep improving them plus maybe win a trophy. Gerrard did a very good job at Rangers but not enough at Villa. Maybe he will come back after a break next summer in the managerial circuit. On Herdman, he has done a very good as Canada head coach including leading them to their first finals in 36 years which is very good achievement, and he will learn from his mistakes he has made in the world cup, but he is someone who if he does kick on might be within a chance of England national team manager.
  11. South Korea Ghana was a great entertaining game. very good for neutral fan. He was the right and logical appointment after the farce with Allardyce. He has delivered more than most have in the last 26 years. When Southgate does leave, we have 2 very good choices in Eddie Howe and Graham Potter to replace him. Maybe a couple more years Frank Lampard and JohnHerdman might be added to those 2 names if they are improved results and manage their careers well. It will be interesting to see if Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney might be running by then. I don't see another English manager/coach getting it and I would not appoint a foreign manager/head coach as I believe that the England national team manager should be an Englishman The England job isn't a poisoned chalice at all. Eriksson walked into the England job just at the right time when we have good young talents coming through like Ashley Cole, Rio Ferdinand, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, etc Hoddle was a very good coach but never had the managerial career he should have had in football. Keegan was the public choice to be England manager and if he would have appointed a tactical coach next to him then he might have been in the role for longer. His passion and man management skills could only take him so far at international level Bobby Robson was an excellent coach and aswell a man management. His book was one of the best books I've ever read. Great autobiography Maybe Bellingham is carrying an injury or struggling with fitness, Tomorrow game against Wales isn't a dead rubber at all. We need to win to top the group. This is not a dead rubber at all
  12. Eriksson and Capello were very successful at club level, and I do believe that the England national team should be managed by an Englishman. Wasn't a fan of either appointment. Yes, we know that McClaren failed as England manager, and I do Hodgson did well but not good enough in tournament football Southgate has proven that he has been the most successful England manager since Sir Alf Ramsey. No one can argue with that Tournament record. Foden is a key player for me and should be ahead of Saka who I wouldn't start ahead of Foden on the right. Mount would start for me. Sterling has performed for England over the years and his record of 1 goal in 4 game from a wide player is an excellent record. That's why he is picked.
  13. Interesting idea that but TV companies will want the teams performing well in the league. It will be interesting to see what the EFL will do with the next TV deal especially when they are considering streaming all games including the 3pm kick off will affect attendances at all ground if they go ahead with it.
  14. What is acceptable these days? Rovers are in promotion hunt and Sky are interested in coverage of team. If we did get promote, then games could be played on 4 different days and at various of times if on Saturday or Sunday. Yet Gerrard and Rodgers both left Old firm teams for Mid table PL teams.
  15. I think Southgate has plenty of goodwill with fans. I'm happy with Southgate in charge and I hope he bring the world cup home. Foden would be in my team instead of Saka. I said that before the first game and my opinion hasn't change either despite Saka's 2 goals against Iran.
  16. The SPL is poor quality league overall, but the Premier league is the place where managers/head coaches want to be managing in. That why Gerrard left Rangers for Villa even tho it wasn't a top 6 side. The Current Celtic head coach will be managing in the PL shortly. His stock was high before taking the QPR and is very well regarded in the football world as a coach. I do think QPR have a decent chance of promotion under him. Wolves had Beale as a choice after being rejected by the new head coach Julen Lopetegui who turned down the original job offer cos his father ill health. And if we reach the PL its unlike we would have any more 3pm kick off then we already do.
  17. Cos, I thought they were poor in the quality of their play and players didn't perform as well as they can, but they got the result. Didn't watch the game but reports are it was dull game. Morocco got a well deserved win today over Belgium. I have been impressed by Canada quality Better results in tournaments in over 22 years and understand how international football should be played unless coaches like Eriksson and Capello who didn't have a clue in tournaments and did hold us back with a very talent players who should have got us to at least semi-final but didn't at all. Give me Southgate every day of the week and twice on Sunday over Eriksson and Capello I totally agree and something that FIFA should be bringing in asap and aswell as Premier League is proper communication with fans about the decision reach by VAR.
  18. I think you are being far too jeckle & hyde at the minute. I think people are overreacting to the draw with USA. Other teams are struggling in the tournament like Germany, France and Argentina. Germany lost to Japan; France struggled last night even tho they got the win they were poor. Argentina was very poor despite them winning. I disagree that Southgate can't motivated cos over his time in charge he has proven that point wrong. Also, none of the goodwill from the opening game has gone but people do overreact to games whether we win convincedly or play poorly and get a draw or lose. People need to calm down. The Iran win didn't make me think we would win the world cup any more than before the world cup started, just like the USA game didn't affect my thinking either.
  19. It's strange move for me cos he could have managed in the Premier League with Wolves or next season with QPR if he got them promote. It will be interesting who QPR go for. I suspected that Chris Wilder, Neil Critchley, Michael O'Neill and Anthony Barry will be on QPR radar
  20. Ben Fyles | rovers.co.uk He is player who can play right or left wing Ben Fyles | Highlights | Blackburn Rovers - YouTube
  21. Yes Bellingham wasn't having an impact and we needed a change there. On Mount, my views are well known to yourself, I think he is quality player and someone I see as key player for us. fair enough. Maybe not watch the build-up. I just put it on 5 minutes before kick-off of the Argentina Mexico as I knew ITV would go into over analysing England game and I wasn't interested in it.
  22. Isn't that why fans have social media platforms/messageboards to discuss this like this site for Rovers fans
  23. The best cheat to grace the game and he was addicted to cocaine for years during his playing days
  24. England was poor last night but I do feel that USA deserved alot of credit for how they stop us playing. Adams in midfield for USA was outstanding. Saka was truly awful, and I would have taken him off at half time for Foden. Mount is quality player and in the first game you witness that, but USA didn't allow him to have the same impact on the game as the previous one. I thought Grealish sub was 10 mins too late for me. I understood and agreed with the Henderson one. Maguire was our best player yesterday. We got a draw and at the end of the day I think we will be the better for having to tough it out. What sort of build-up would you like to see and surely you would expect Our TV channels to give us daily updates on England They have been poor all tournament and I think Mexico were solid defensive until the strike from Messi. I hope Mexico do score before the end. Even tho its where he plays for his club Arsenal every week and provided goals and assists for his club from that position?
