  1. contract's negotiations were happening well before that
  2. he has got his B licence and if you look at his role its to help the transition between the goalkeeper from the academy to first team. Even if you have retired keeper with bags of experience doesn't mean they are good coach and can communicate effectively
  3. then season ticket holder get the option of buying them first. Did the same for the Stanley away game.
  4. I will criticise the club when it right to do and I do not blame the club for 3 players not renewing their contract. They were made good contracts and not signed them and now gone elsewhere. I know Ben Brereton was made a new contract offer and he has decide not to sign it. So we can either sell him or make him another contract offer. I would try to keep him here, but if he wants to leave then sell him I've always thought the talent was there and he needed someone to unlock that. He seem a very different player when he returned after the first lockdown. Always let someone had switch him on. I remember him having a good game in the FA cup against Arsenal for Forest and I thought he looks a good player.
  5. https://twitter.com/Rovers/status/1541732393689784322?s=20&t=KMKU0d9WySFgSIt9wvggOA
  6. JDT adds a new coach to his backroom staff
  7. The LT reported on the 13th December that new contract had been offered but not signed. here the link Mowbray quashes Ben Brereton exit talk after Brighton links | Lancashire Telegraph. @arbitrohere is the LT article on it. I also heard via a friend that Rovers offered him a new contract last season before Blackpool away game last season
  8. I think that role of the opener is changing now and McCullum/Stokes want them to attack. They want to entertain the fans. Oh yes Steve James would you what it takes to become a test match opener since he never made it as test opener. You said yesterday that he expect England would drop Zak Crawley for the next test but that hasn't happen has it instead England captain Ben Stokes, Head Coach Brendan McCullum and MD/head of selector Rob Key have all backed him again. You only have to listen to Brendan McCullum interview yesterday where he suggested Loyalty is one of the biggest thing to him in life including coaching. I think Zak Crawley will play all summer for England
  9. most people doesn't think Ben Brereton was even good enough before last season including yourself. Nowhere did you suggest we should offer him a new contract here so lets not start rewriting history here JH. Rovers have offered a new contract last season and he hasn't accept it that why we have activate the 12 months contract extension.
  10. Pay day in 2 days time for alot of people so I would imagine alot of people will renew then.
  11. Here is the article linking Ben Brereton there Ben Brereton was in Portugal today as per this picture
  12. Yes they did but went down last season for various reasons including quality of their squad and Dyche lack of plan B
  13. I'm Gregg Broughton number 2 🤣🤣🤣 But all seriousness I would be pleased if JDT and GB want to that approach and as they have both said this is project and its time. It makes sense to keep bringing in our academy/young players plus around 6 signings. Its a sensible and realistic approach. no one is saying an all group of youngsters to break through but 3 or 4 talented young players like Jake Garrett, Ash Phillips and Jack Vale to be part of the first team squad for the coming season. That is what I and other are saying we think we should do. If you disagree with that fine but I will stand by that opinion No one has suggested that Ash Phillips or Jake Garrett will replace Darragh Lenihan or Joe Rothwell but want them part of the first team squad for the coming season. I have said around 6 signings is what I think we need for the coming season.
  14. If they other half were Premier League quality then why do they go down. They have lost Pope, Mee and Tarnowski already. I would expect 4 or 5 more will go. Well so far they have signed Scott Twine and supposedly to close to signing an Oxford centre back and Rotherham midfielder. So don't seem where you get this assumption they are signing solid championship level signings?
  15. new captain and coach with positive mind set and want to entertain their fans. I don't know if you watch Brendan McCullum's post match interview but was impressed by comments and just think what a breath of fresh air he has been since being appointed.
  16. Looks like the club is going to adopt my approach and back some of our promising young players by given them a chance at this level which I am pleased about. Players like Carter or Vale aren't even going to be proven at this level unless you actually play them at this level.
  17. The club recruitment team would have been still working even without a head coach in place. Yes we miss one and two would have like here like Kane Wilson who went to Bristol City but I don't think we missed out on alot of players More words in my mouth with this biased nonsense. I posted my opinion on them that is all.
  18. more than welcome. 👍
  19. You keep belittling the under 23's league for unknown reasons. I've seen him play live and he is deffo one for the future
  20. The next test starts on Friday against India. England have named the same squad back added James Anderson and Sam Billings. So it looks like Brendan McCullum and Ben Stokes will back him
  21. I have email the club for you and I post reply if I get one
  22. The LT has reported that Rovers are targeting up 6 signings this summer with right back, centre back, a striker and midfielders . Under 23's head coach Mike Sheron has made the trip to Portugal with the first team squad. Also from the article "Outgoing head of recruitment John Park had begun drawing up lists of players for positions, and price ranges, prior to Tomasson’s appointment. Park will leave the club this week at the end of his contract, with the search for a new transfer chief, who will work alongside Broughton, under way. Broughton will return to the UK ahead of the squad, who are due back on Sunday, as Rovers look to the market for new signings. Those will be focused on Tomasson’s style of play which is set to focus on high intensity football. The new head coach held meetings with Academy staff, and coaches, about wanting to implement that philosophy across Rovers’ youth sides to make the transition period easier." Blackburn Rovers transfer latest as squad train in Portugal | Lancashire Telegraph Lancs Live article on Seven right-backs Blackburn Rovers could target to replace Ryan Nyambe with Seven right-backs Blackburn Rovers could target to replace Ryan Nyambe with - LancsLive Nathan Byrne would be quality signing. I think Callum Brittain would be another quality signing. If we were to look at loan player than Ethan Laird who was
  23. Wrong there. Kompany was selected as the permanent choice to replace Dyche weeks before he got his work permit when he had problems getting. So I would have thought he would have been working on potential targets during that period. McNeil had a tough season last season granted. Not really at all. You got relegated which means that the price drops despite the price. You were of the opinion that you would get more for Pope but you didn't
  24. Yes the head coach JDT has said he has had meetings over recruitment with Gregg Broughton. They will be targeting players I think we wouldn't be under Mowbray. We have to disagree on the catch up point. The head of recruitment and recruitment staff were still doing their jobs in scouting and watching players. That didn't stop cos Mowbray and Venus left the club. GB has praised the work John Park has done in scouting players. I think you are underplaying the part that JDT wants to evulate the current players and including the young players he took to Portugal with him. We sign players when we sign them. I would rather get the right players in then rush and make a crap signing. I don't expect anything this week. JDT will want to assess the squad and see whether he thinks the younger players will be part of the first team squad for this season. I think we are still talking to clubs and players plus carry on scouting and looking in depth on potential signings. that were need a signing and I have have said so in my post what we need to do on recruitment. Correct not every player will move but I have seen West Ham and Spurs linked a couple of weeks ago.
