  1. very exciting and enjoyable grand prix race. Plenty of over taking by most drivers. On to the Australia grand prix now
  2. @AllRoverAsiaHere is well respected Cricket journalist Paul Newman suggesting Sam Billings to become England Test Captain. Also says Marcus North remains the favourite for The England director of cricket role. PAUL NEWMAN: Joe Root's race is run as Test captain - I would give it to Sam Billings | Daily Mail Online
  3. Atherton, Hussain, Compton, Harmison all saying after today test match loss that Root should be replace as Test Captain. 2 names I have seen mention today and they are Ben Stokes and Stuart Board to replace Root. We need to speak to Stokes about where he is mentally and whether he wants to take on the captain challenge. If not then give Board it for summer then reassess after the Summer test series against New Zealand, India and South Africa. If Alex Lees can step up into the captain if he can perform in the summer and be the long term captain
  4. surely that would be logically since they are Mowbray's appointment tho Kaminski has praised Benson coaching method and getting the best from him. A new manager/head coach should be allow to bring in his own staff to a point.
  5. If Mowbray's contract is up then won't Venus, Lowe and Benson contracts be up aswell?
  6. Playoff place was the minimum requirement at Christmas time when we were 2nd or 3rd. Whether we achieve on goal difference or by a point it doesn't matter If we don't finish top 6 then we need a change of manager/head coach. Can't be any more clearer than I have been
  7. Strauss need to interview in the next 2 weeks to appoint a new England director of cricket by end of April whether it be Ed Smith, Marcus North, Rob Key or Tom Moody. Then we need a National Chief selector and Test head coach appointing within 2 weeks. Then we can sort out the England test captain situation before the New Zealand series
  8. A playoff place gives us the opportunity for promotion whilst 7th doesn't. Also given our position at Christmas finishing top 6 should be the minimum requirement. Outside the top 6 finish and I think we need a new manager/head coach to move us forward next season with new ideas, signing players, bringing through academy players and good tactical and man management skills.
  9. Well who is going to answer your questions you posted on here? Blackpool have the tickets already and had them all last week. Just not put them on sale yet according to fans of Blackpool. Rovers should and need to factor this into the price of season ticket for next season and prices of club merchandise and food/drinks on the concourse. Can I asked what has been discussed between the fans forum and the club around the price of next season ticket prices, different ticket schemes and cost of club merchandise/ food and drink within the stadium? Alot of it depends on people situation and what other costs they have. Going to Rovers is my main social event and I can afford it, but other people and supporters are struggling with costs of living and Rovers should take this into account and drop the prices of tickets for matches and season tickets this season plus a number of other schemes. I would be offering Season tickets in Blackburn End, family stand area and the Riverside stand for £300, Jack Walker for £350 if you purchase before End of May as an Early Bird offer. After May Those would increased to £340 and £390. This would be adults. Any child under the age of 11 would cos a pound for season ticket for all areas. between 11 and 16 would be £25. Between 16 to 21 would be £100 and for seniors my price would £120 for Blackburn End and Riverside stand, 140 pounds for the Jack Walker stand. Also for any fan who purchase a season ticket under the early bird scheme would get a 25% reduction on a Home or away shirt to be purchase before the end of October. Also any season ticket holder under the age of 16 or senior would receive a 50% reduction on Rovers hat, scarf and gloves set Match day prices would 15 pounds for midweek game but reduce to 10 pounds if you been to previous midweek game that season. Prices for weekend games would be 20 pounds but reduce to 15 pounds if you have been to previous weekend game that season. Also If any fan who has been to 5 games would receive a 20% of Rovers home or away shirt that season.
  10. I was going to asked what do think their numbers would be in favour of a safe standing area and where would be best stand/area for it? Rovers should have done an extensive consultation period on the safe standing and where would be best for it in past 18 months as I believe other clubs have done. The club has done great work within the community and bringing young people to games which should be applaud but Rovers and Waggott should have done more work and research in trying to get past season ticket holders back to the club and interested in the club. Rovers have the perfect opportunity to do this research between January 2021 to May 2021 whether it through questionnaires posted or send by email or even ringing people up. Rovers need more money investing in stadium whether its certain facilities fans want and the club. I think whether improving car parking facilities or building a pub on the land near the Jack Walker stand/Darwen end corner. Or having Music bands on after the game on Saturday. The food at Ewood Park needs massive improving and the cost of the current food and drinks is over priced and not good enough quality for the cost of it. Plus I would like to see a reduction on the cost of products within the club shop and make it more affordable for fans who are struggling financially. There is a number of changes and improvements that need to happen this summer and beyond.
  11. I can't see that being true cos the selectors were Andrew Strauss and James Taylor. Strauss has said that Root's future would be decide by the new director of cricket whoever that is. It does appears to be between 4 candidates which have been reported has Durham's director of cricket Marcus North, Ed Smith, Rob Key and Sri Lanka's director of cricket Tom Moody. Which of those 4 choices would be the right candidate to become the new Director of Cricket for the Eng;and? I can't see Billings being the replacement for Root when that decision happens. But the candidates within the squad look like Ben Stokes, Stuart Board and Left field choice Alex Lees(who has captain experience with Yorkshire and with the England Lions.
  12. would this be the article you read? Next England cricket captain: Joe Root's time is up, the ECB should send for Sam Billings (inews.co.uk) Billings would deffo be a left field appointment I spoken and posted about yesterday, similar to my suggestion of Tom Abell from Somerset. Maybe Stuart Board could do the job for the Summer test series as short term appointment The decision of stripping Root of the captaincy and who will be appoint as test captain will be decide by whoever gets appoint as England director of cricket and Test coach. I would have like England to have played Matt Parkinson in this test series and see how he copes with test cricket
  13. And if Rovers were to do this you would be upsetting a large portion of the Rovers season ticket holder based. Do you really want to make Season ticket sales less? You can make the NO1 part of Blackburn End standing and the rest can be standing. Would they be a huge demand for standing area from STH and single match day buyers?
  14. I said I would be renewing for next season to rigger in a previous post. I would still renew even if they went up by that amount. Those are questions you should be sending to Steve Waggott, Iain Slivester and Lynsey Talbot? Maybe the Rovers Fan Forum could ask those questions for you. Why would it be Rovers fault for Blackpool not putting tickets on sale yet?
  15. If he got top 6 then I would give him a new contract, But if he doesn't get playoff place then as I said we need a new manager/head coach with new ideas, new training ground methods and good tactical plus we keep bringing through the good academy players we have here
  16. Attending Rovers games and being a Rovers season ticket holder is my main social activity with my best friend now. For what? for supporting the club that I have support all my live and will do through the good, the bad and the ugly times. I respect your point and for you being so honest on the forum even tho I disagree. I like doing away games but given that I work nights makes most away games unable to do sadly.
  17. I agreed and he pretty much admitted it wasn't good enough
  18. My decision to renew will not depend who is the manager seat or which players stay or not. I support the club and I will always renew my season ticket. Nothing beats being at Ewood Park on a match day for me.
  19. Langer is a head coach and not a director of cricket role which is mainly as Administrator role and getting the county set up right and benefitting the England cricket team whilst picking the next test head coach, odi/twnenty20 head coach and the chief selector role. Rob Key has loads of county cricket experience and knows the current problems with the current system in place. Marcus North is the current Durham director of cricket and seems to have done a good job there. I would be happy with Langer as Test head coach. Strauss was never going to sack Root and he will leave that decision for the new England director of cricket. I think Root time as captain has to ended and I think Stokes is the only candidate to take over I don't see any other candidate out there unless you go completely left field have pick an county captain with no Test match experience like Somerset Captain Tom Abell
  20. The search for the next England's director of cricket. Its appears that the candidates are Marcus North, Ed Smith, Rob Key, Tom Moody. Sky Sports pundit Rob Key emerges as a surprise contender for England's managing director role | Daily Mail Online I think Rob Key might just be ideal candidate for the role given his views that England need 2 separate head coaches for test matches and ODI/twenty20 matches, plus he wants to bring back the national selector role. Plus has a clear way how the game should be played and that Root should be replaced as Test Captain which I agree with now. Think we need a new captain like Ben Stokes who would very different captain to Root. Michael Vaughan's comments on Root's captaincy during the current test match https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/cricket/article-10645659/Sky-Sports-pundit-Rob-Key-emerges-surprise-contender-Englands-managing-director-role.html
  21. Looks like Preston are set to be take over by Chris Kirchner. He was interested in buying Derby earlier in the season. Also look like he will bring in former Man City CEO Garry Cook to run the club. Chris Kirchner reportedly 'close' to £40million Preston takeover (deepdaledigest.com) Chris Kirchner outlines ownership plans and management style as talks to buy Preston North End continue | Lancashire Evening Post (lep.co.uk)
  22. interesting debate and topic posted by @roversfan99. I would give Tony Mowbray a overall 7 for his time in charge. I don't blame for the relegation to league 1 and the blame for me should be lay at the door of Owen Coyle and the person who selected him to become Rovers manager, Tony Mowbray deserved huge credit for getting us promoted from league 1 at the first time of asking whilst we have seen clubs like Sunderland, Charlton, Leeds, Sheffield United struggled to get out of league 1 or currently have struggled to get out of league. I enjoyed the season and Mowbray did change his tactics and game plan after 2 games into the season. I also have enjoyed this season and the way we have played overall even tho in recent games and weeks we have struggled to win and score goals. I enjoyed the wins against Swansea and Cardiff cos of how we played and press from the front. Since going to 3 at the back I enjoyed the wins and how solid we have been at the back until recent weeks and games. I still think we need to go back to playing 4-2-3-1 and get Dack into that 10 role with either Brereton or Gallagher up front if we want a playoff place I was very disappointed and angry about Tony Mowbray failure to get us at least a playoff place last season given the backing he had in that season and the amount of players he had at his choice and disposal but I think that's makes him over think the game plan and tactics. Mowbray should have been replace last summer. The first 2 season back in Championship was good enough but maybe we should have done better at times and maybe get a playoff place His transfer record is a mixed one. Done brilliant with signings like Dack, Armstrong, Kaminski but poor ones like Gallagher when a centre defender should have been priority after the 1st season back in the championship. Still think he should have done this after we get promote and look to replace Mulgrew long term. His loan signings have been mixed with players like Antonsson, Reed, Tosin and Harwood-Bellis been good, but players like Palmer and Trybull have been poor ones Think he done good bringing in young players from academy like Travis, Buckley and Wharton to becoming key players for club and the future
  23. Can't say I am big fan of standing up every game to be honest. I sit in No2 of the Blackburn End and I enjoyed my view from my seat.
  24. Hamilton will start 16th for tomorrow grand prix after not being to qualify any faster. The car looks slow and well below his standards.
  25. I hope we do released them in April time and I can get its all sorted before the summer and paid for the season ticket. On another point, I was talking to 2 Blackpool fans at work on Thursday who told me that the Rovers tickets aren't even available to buy yet given that its only 2 weeks away. Which I thought was strange.
