I agree there is further problems then Root and Sliverwood. I read an article saying that Root wants changes to the county 4 day championship format and more emphases on them from next summer and beyond. Yes I would get rid of Sliverwood. I would keep Root as Test captain. The 4 day county cricket is played at the wrong time of the year and the game isn't produce quality players, pitches or the correct test for these players. We still haven't produce quality spinner since Swann. I agree that Giles need replacing and still don't think he was the right replacement for Strauss and your suggestion of Atherton is very good suggestion and one I would be in favour or even in the role of National selector as Atherton has seen plenty of County cricket and knows the game inside out. Giles was wrong for getting rid of National selector role and given Sliverwood all control which is too much of big role for one person. I would go for Alec Stewart as test coach and Paul Farbrace or Paul Collingwood as one day/20twenty coach. Stewart knows the coaching and county game inside out and I think he would been appoint had he not pull out for Family reasons. I would also go down the 2 coaches route now due to the amount of cricket out there. Far too much for one main coach now

Premier League season 21/22

Agreed. I heard Tuchel complaining about the schedule and lack of players he can pick from despite he had a bench of first players like Havertz, Sarr, Alonso, Barkley, Ziyech, Kante, etc. He has massive squad there plus under 23's players pick form. First half was good but second half was dire. Burnley had chances to get something from the game but missed them. They need 2 or 3 signings in January window Both teams can sign players and any players Newcastle players might not fit enough and train enough to make a impact before the next game -
John Buckley
chaddyrovers replied to Hoochie Bloochie Mama's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
His performances this season has been very good and for me he is running to win player of the year. He is challenging Brereton, Kaminski and Rothwell for player of the season for Rovers. Buckley has 8 assists this season and for me he is going to star player for this club going forward as long as he stays fit and no major injuries. -

Look at this "Yet again I have said time after time that Mowbray should have been sack and replace. But he hasn't been. So we go into the new season and for the target should be playoffs. Mowbray can have no excuses this season. So Yes the end of the season target should be playoffs/top 6. " on Brereton, I put a bet on Brereton being the Championship top scorer in the league before the season started. -
Thanks Gav. I will be watching after tonight game. Looking forward to it. I have watched many documentaries on JFK. Same as Bill Clinton

Do you the powers that be have the money and finances to go full time? I've watched the Class of 92's documentary and how they finances the operation from part time to full time. Who is the Chorley head coach? I know Matt Jansen is at Stockport County I believe now -
Mike Atherton's comments has been similar to what I was saying on here that the structure of the county championship game is one of major problem and until that is fixed we will continue to have batting problems. If people think firing Sliverwood and Root are the main problem then you are wrong. Its start with the structure of the county game, quality of pitches and when the 4 day game are being played

I did say in the summer that Rovers should be targeting the top this top 6. Plus I did say that Brereton would step up and replace Armstrong's goals. Also Mowbray has done better with younger smaller squad cos he has coach this team which suits him to where last season we had older squad so it was more about managing them and trusting them. Park has done a good job on finding Kharda and Van Hecke. Think Mowbray scouted Clarkson last season himself and Maja was Mowbray choice. -
Premier League season 21/22

I have address your point tho. Leicester played fantastic last night. Didn't affect them but Rodgers used his squad despite injuries and Covid. He doesn't look for excuses like Tuchel and Klopp do. I have highlighted Chelsea in previous weeks schedule when Tuchel had no problem the schedule then cos they were winning. Now they are losing I blame the schedule for our form and the fact he has see his title bid falter whilst Man City are continue to win and get on with playing games The PL sold the rights for games to this week and for teams to play 2 games with 48/72 hours. These are professional footballers who should be more than capable playing 2 games with 72 hours. Plus these clubs have a 25 man squad and used them. Teams Liverpool and Chelsea have huge squads so used them -
Premier League season 21/22

it only become a problem recently when certain managers have started moaning and complaining about the festive schedule. Why has it become such a problem now given that's these teams have 25 man squad and these squad built have cost millions of pounds to assemble. Are you really telling these players can play 2 games with 3/4 days? Liverpool were awful yesterday and Leicester was superb despite playing 2 days before had. Tuchel has complain about the schedule despite the 2 days gap between playing on 26th and next game against Brentford tonight. So why doesn't he moan and complain about the schedule when its a Champions League on the Wednesday after playing a Premier League on Sunday like when they played Leicester on 20th November then played Juventus on 23rd November? or when they Newcastle on 30th October then Malmo on 2nd November? or When they Malmo on 20th October then Norwich on 23rd October? it is cos they won all these games convincedly? Now his Chelsea team are struggling with form and performances he is panic mood and trying to blame our footballing schedule? Also the clubs CEO/owners don't moan when the TV revenue is coming in. suggest you look at the point about when Champions league are played 3 days after Premier League game? also if our footballing schedule is too far much for coaching ability and he can't cope then quit and go to a country where there is less games and winter break. these coaches are all very quick to take the money when offered these clubs and they are fully aware of the footballing schedule. -

After thinking it for a while its time the ECB starting focus on the 4 day championship game. But I would start on replacing Ashley Giles as director of Cricket at the ECB with Sliverwood aswell being removed from the England head coach role. I would bring back the head of selector role with and look to people someone who knows the county game like Angus Fraser in that role. Would like to see Alec Stewart has ECB Director of Cricket and running the England cricket team. Then I would be in Paul Farbrace as head coach. I would keep Thorpe, Trescothick and Collingwood as assistant coach but I would bring in new bowling coach like Dominic Cork or Darren Gough. on the Captain issue, Does Ben Stokes want to take over for a couple of years but I don't see a natural replacement for Root due to most of team aren't guarantee of the place. Do anything have any suggestions? Ive seen James Vince mention b couple of people but he not even in the main squad at the minute.

interesting comments from Mowbray that Park has been looking all over Europe for Targets for January and the summer. I do whether if we go back for Maja on loan to permanent deal if he performs and stays fit. For the midfield role, I don't know we go for. If we need a right wing back as some have suggested on here what about a loan deal for Neco Williams from Liverpool who supposedly wants out of Liverpool. Maybe a loan to permanent deal in the summer if we go up and if Nyambe doesn't sign new contract -

The football schedule has always been like this over the Christmas and New Year. Where you played to 3 to 4 games within 10/12 days. The clubs don't reject the cash tho made from the TV deals when they are done tho? I have zero sympathy for these clubs who managers are complaining given that they how our footballing season structure is and given the size of the squad and money they have spend on them. They should be more than able to cope with a few games in a 10 days period. -

well done Leicester who played very good. Was missing 5 defenders tonight against main 3 strikers. Thought Dewsbury-Hall was excellent tonight.
