Blackburn Rovers interested in Terell Thomas https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9671527/Blackburn-Rovers-Barnsley-set-battle-AFC-Wimbledons-Terell-Thomas.html -
Never said to test his fitness in the Croatia game. He has been training the last 2 weeks so I guess he is fit now and for starts on Sunday with Rice.

Pickering will be first choice -
I suggested that's was the one of the reason why he left for Sunderland cos he wanted a greater say in recruitment. I think he suggested certain players but Mowbray ignored them and signed Ayala and Douglas instead This us where I would be looking Begium, Holland, Turkey, possible Austria aswell France and Germany. We should have looking at these leagues since our promotion 3 years ago. Mowbray and this European scouting network set have been ready to go when we got promoted especially if Mowbray wanted to play this possession based game. It shouldn't be problem if you have proper recruitment network in place to find this players. That's why these people watch plenty of games from around the European and UK games. Rest of it is just excuse that Mowbray will used. We have to keep developing our good young players from our academy aswell as find gems in the lower leagues.
-
Is FM going to know everything? Harvey was in charge of recruitment department and had some good staff under him. I still think its fully worth having a European scouting network as they will be plenty of players we can sign still
-
James for me is our best right back currently. Against a good solid Croatia team I would play both Rice and Henderson. Then see how Henderson is after that game given he has been injured for a while before just returning

No surprise that Wilder isn't getting the WBA job. Given that they have Sporting director there and that's one of the reasons he left Sheffield United. Surprise they gone for Wagner. Not someone I rated that highly. -
White has been selected to replace TAA so thats gives you 5 centre backs in the squad. Still don't understand why we need 3 right backs in this squad. I wouldn't have picked Saka either and picked Watkins who cover can wide and the striker role. My team for the Croatia depending on injuries/fitness is Pickford James Stones Maguire Shaw Henderson Rice Foden Mount Rashford Kane

Glyn Chamberlain is the head of our European Scouting network. Maybe they will target a new Recruitment chief with more data focus background. I have to completely disagree on your point about no point us having European Scouting of our size. We can still target players in Belgium, Holland, France, Germany. Plus other countries like Turkey, Sweden and Norway.

Agreed there. Dolan, Dack, JRC, Armstrong, Buckley, Rothwell, Brereton all have plenty of skill to proved that opinion is wrong Do we play with a 10 in Mowbray 4-3-3- formation? Very strange formation and for me we still need a good defensive midfield in front of the back 4 allowing Travis to play his natural game Well done on those stats and proving in wrong. Maybe with them we should be starting him more and develop his obvious talent into a key player in the future -
Yet again. Asked Crooke this week if they had been any progress. He was on holiday this week so he will chase this up this coming week. Maybe they have picked their choice but he is having to work his notice period
-
Well if that's the way you want to put it but it wasnt the point. Mowbray chased Ayala years ago, so Mowbray knows all about him and should have stayed well clear of signing him. I dont see our recruitment team suggest him. Do you? But our recruitment team where heavily involved in signing Kaminski or Dolan. Will Mowbray have final say or will it be Pasha who will?
-
I have plenty of faith in our recruitment team in recommended players to the Manager. The problem is if he decide that he wants players that's the recruitment team havent recommended. Will be interesting to see who we appoint as Head of recruitment and whether that person is more data focus than Harvey was. Just look at last summer recruitment and do you think our recruitment team recommend Ayala or Trybull or Pears or Douglas. Cos I dont. I think they were Mowbray own choices.
-
No its doesn't surprise me cos I know how much you enjoy watching live football inside a stadium from previous conservations we had
-
For me, yes I think the time has come that's he becomes first team regular. The talent and ability is there he just needs regular game time now form and fitness depending. I've said we need a change of manager for the past 5 months now and I said we need change tactics now. What more do you want? All down to the bids we get and whether they are acceptable to Rovers. Plus can we get who we want to replace him with? All down to who we will sign this summer Who knows. It's down to who we recruit as his replacement and how that player settle into the team. Until that's happen no point in predicting what will happen
-
That's where you hope and in all true where are recruitment department should have already provided Mowbray and co shortlist for each position we need signings for. That's should have been weeks in not months ago tbh.
-
I agree with Holtby and Evans being released. Lets see what the squad for the coming season maybe a week before the start of the season then for me, we have more of a idea what the season with hold and what players we have sign and sold if any
-
I wouldn't have even give him a new contract but release him and move on.
-
Yes I think Buckley will have more of an impact on games the more he plays. How is it downgrade? For me, it would be in place of Rothwell thats Buckley plays. Until we see who we recruitment and how other teams recruit then how can you fear a dog fight next season? This is why I have said repeatedly that Mowbray's signings over the past 2 seasons haven't fitted the way he wants to play style wise and formation wise. I agree that we shouldn't play this tika taka style but I would be more inclined to play 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 counter attacking or even play abit more direct if Armstrong leaves and we sign a target man instead of like for like replacement. Like we did with Graham. We need to sign players thats fit his style and for me we need a good defensive midfielder to play in front back 4 to allow Travis and Buckley in more advance roles in midfield 3 if we play Mowbray 4-3-3 formation this formation unless he change his style and formation again. Who knows with Mowbray considering thats we have played 4 different formations during his tenure here.
-
Johnson wouldn't be part of my starting eleven Buckley is 21 years old and now is the time to play him. of course thats is form and injuries depending. I disagree thats Buckley is downgraded on Rothwell as you have repeatedly he is far too inconsistent. He hasn't produced the goods enough times during his 3 years here. But I really don't know why thats it is cos Rothwell has the talent and skills but we don't enough of it. Why assume that's Armstrong will go or not be proper replace? Elliott and Harwood-Bellis will be big misses but we might get Harwood-Bellis back on loan. Big question how do we replace Elliott? Well this is where our recruitment department comes to the front and gives Mowbray a list of potential targets. I thought of someone like Patrick Roberts possible option. If you are depress by it all thats fine.

Delighted with the JRC new contract news

My Disdain towards Mowbray is still there and I still believe he should have been sacked by now. How many more times do I need to same this? Its gets boring to be honest keep repeating the same thing every time. But Players might have different opinion on Mowbray to us fans. Ever thought of that one. I would say thats most championship clubs don't have the financial clout anymore. Most clubs are the same but just look at how well clubs like Barnsley or Luton don't have financial clout but finished higher than we did in the league. Look at Stoke as example of a massive wage bill and they only finished one place higher than us. Not a chance. Wages would be massive problem here no thanks. We have our first choice left back now in Pickering and we need a left back who can cover centre back area maybe? Do we have the squad to play the way Ismael has at Barnsley since joining them? Joe, Do you have any stats on him from the various sites you used? Delighted with this one. I think JRC will become a key player over the coming seasons and he needs to play forward whether its wide left or right. No reason for him to be play at right back with Nyambe and Pike for their spots -

Yes but most clubs outside the PL regulation 3 teams wont have loads of money and I expect very few cash buys in the entire league unless clubs sell a key player to fund it. Is he going stay at Barnsley on low wages? Or go somewhere for more money and is the current Barnsley manager going to stay and be able to continue the good work? Is Mowbray a boring old fart when in the dressing room with the players? Do you know this or just speculation again? -
I would be playing regular from now on and in centre midfield/number 10 role. Hes 21 years old. Now is the time to build the midfield around him and Travis.
