Barnsley v Rovers, Wed 17th Feb
chaddyrovers replied to JPTSwindon's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Dack starts if his performance warrant it and for me, he is miles away from his best. We need to winning games now if we going to make top 6 not playing Dack to gain his fitness. Elliott would play in the hole behind Armstrong cos I want Dolan pace in the team and him to force Their Barnsley wing back Styles back into the full back area as much as possible -

who the replacement for Rankin Costello? Nyambe can't play wing back role. My point was if Rankin Costello and Wharton were fit they would both be starting for me. Playing Wharton on the left of back 3 gives the back a balance which doesn't happen when a right footed played there -

Wharton and Rankin-Costello would have regularly in the team if they didnt get injury in my opinion There is nothing wrong with trying a different formation when we aren't performing and not scoring enough. plus I want to give Armstrong a partner up front. -

I would line up Kaminski Nyambe Lenihan Harwood-Bellis Douglas Travis Davenport Dolan Elliott Brereton Armstrong If we had Wharton and JRC fit I would go 3 at the back in 3-5-2 and line up like this Kaminski Harwood-Bellis Lenihan Wharton Rankin-Costello Travis Davenport Douglas Elliott Gallagher Armstrong -

Three players that Rovers have been determined to protect has been Joe Rothwell, Ryan Nyambe and Joe Rankin-Costello, with all three of their contracts expiring in June. Rovers hold a 12-month option in Rothwell and Nyambe's contracts, with the agent of the latter suggesting that the extension clause is likely to be triggered as negotiations foil at this stage. https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/blackburn-rovers-contracts-update-buckley-19847024.amp?__twitter_impression=true

Not seen that article. Crooke will asked Waggott about the retirement stories in his up coming conversation with him? Who cares? No one at Ewood would leak him that sort of story imo. I think its Mrs D and Mr D who make the decisions on the financial side. I don't see Venkys getting involved in changes with under 23's and 18's staff. wasn't the funding for the pitch already authorised before the Preston game? -
John Buckley

I think he should play in centre midfield with Travis and rotate him with Davenport depending on who we are playing -
John Buckley

but that isn't a loan for him to develop his game is it. I would start to use Buckley now in the team now Douglas came here to play and possible earn a contract here -

He is 21 years old now. Do you not think his time on loan has gone? -

Why do you think Pasha has withdrawn from day to day activity at Rovers? a couple of people on here have said Waggott is retiring but nothing official has been said. Cheston and Slivester are still here and working in the same roles for years now I don't see Sharpe's article has anything but an article. The club wouldnt tell him thats sort of stuff I think Mrs D is the major person who makes the decision regarding funding of Rovers I don't see Venkys getting rid of the staff at the under 23 or 18 level. I don't believe Venkys have been forced into spending money on the pitch but Mowbray and Waggott have asked the owners to invest in a complete and utter new pitch which they have granted. Venkys want promotion on the debt, I don't know enough about it but all the debt is with Venkys London Limited not Rovers is my understand -

who knows? Plenty of fans out there still supporting Mowbray. Facebook groups, twitter groups, etc. Me and a group of friends who attend Rovers games prior to the lockdown in March have a what's app group and we discuss Rovers issues. They were quite of alot of angry over the player performance on Friday, Mowbray tactics, treatment of Gallagher, some signings made this season, plus the tactics. Some of us are undecided on Mowbray and his future, couple want change of manager. -

The one of the biggest problem this season is us not being into stadiums and seeing games live in our normal world. Yes you make a fair point is maybe we were misled by those performances and score lines. I am very disappointed by Rothwell recent performances and I don't know why he has drop again. I like the player and he has the talent but we aren't seeing it enough. I also think Dolan should have been used more with his pace and skill. -
If the owners have no faith in Mowbray they wouldn't had authorised 3 signings in the January window. Plus comments made by Kamy on here about Venkys likely Mowbray and those 2 journalists over the weekend tell you Mowbray is safe. Like I said Mercer before, I am undecided on his future. On Neil, He impressed me at Norwich in the championship. But not Premier League. I gave you my shortlist but we already seen the list of managers from a certain agency and if thats our options to replace Mowbray with then its a very poor list of options tbh. The list was posted by Miller11 weeks/months ago I don't see Mowbray going any time from the Rovers job.

The Preston Game. Playing Gallagher at right back was a joke and his treatment of him in the game and the position he was asked played was wrong.. Or even a right winger is now getting stupid now. Bringing Brereton with 5 mins was too late. Why bring on Harwood Bellis 10 minutes after subbing Nyambe? why not bring him in place of Nyambe in the first place. Our performance in that game wasn't good enough and we were awful tbh. -

Didn't Pasha and Cheston got Mowbray the meeting in Pune after our relegation? Also is Pasha, Slivester, Cheston and Waggott all backing Mowbray still? -

I haven't seen any and have no nonfictions of asking me about Mowbray and if he still had my backing. I am very undecided on his future as manager of the club. I am still very annoyed about the performance and result on Friday night. That performance was unacceptable -

Alan Nixon and Jaquob Crooke were asked over the weekend on Mowbray and this was their responses -
You were convince it would happen in January even the owners back Mowbray with 3 signings and we pick up 10 points from 4 games in that month. Now you move the goalposts and said sooner rather than later? Suggest you look at Nixon comment to a question about Mowbray's future over the weekend

Performance was very poor. Armstrong had our only 2 shots on target. We didnt one clear cut chance second half. Preston deserved the win. Branthwaite looked really.poor today. Time for Harwood-Bellis to start. Apart from Armstrong and Douglas were decent. Rest was poor. Didnt understand taking Nyambe off to play Gallagher at right back then 10 minutes bring on Harwood-Bellis. Baffling was that.
