  1. I don't believe it was either pal. He hasn't been good enough all pre season and in his appearances so far this season. Hull he was good and today he wasn't. Plus Downing form has also better which you have overlooked. I have already answered your 3rd point about us going direct. We had to go direct cos of playing Gallagher and Graham plus Dack being man mark by Cardiff which you have overlooked also. 7 points from 3 games proved his recent approaches as been right. You have said you aren't bothered if its boring as long as win well you getting your wishes now but somehow still unhappy? 3 clean sheets and 7 points in a week is an excellent week for me. Roll on to Saturday
  2. He was ok tbh. Dack and Rothwell change the game for me
  3. and for me wasn't interfering either but your points are moot as the goal stood and we won. That's all that matters. Thankgod we don't have VAR in the championship any time soon. Mowbray will look at alot more than just an assist and a goal. Its will be based on his overall performance and attitude. I have told you a number of times there is different ways of playing good football not just the Pep way. We have been through this a number of times so I don't see the need to go through again especially as we didn't have the discussion on here. Like I said again before Mowbray appears to got back to basics to get us points on the board. Which 7 points from 3 games is very good week and 3 clean sheets. Yes we aren't scoring alot of goals but as time goes on it will come. Rothwell's form hasn't been good enough for me so far this season. But there were signs against Hull of it coming back. Dack's form hasn't been good enough either Today was horrid to watch? well I predict this before the game, you aren't going to get good game against a Warnock's team. did you expect one really? Warnock has his style and he has success from it None of Leeds, Derby and Villa play the Warnock style so that's doesn't compare to be honest roversfan99
  4. I said Graham and Gallagher we have to play direct. Not just Gallagher. We have no one running in behind their 2 centre backs of Cardiff. Look at ParsonBlue's comments about Chapman's performance yesterday. Did you attend? I would like us to play more entertaining football but we have gone back to basics to pick up points and keep clean sheets after the 1st 2 games both being lost. I don't think the Hull keeper was foul as it the Hull Keeper who push Armstrong 1st. Didn't Gallagher win 12 heading duels against Boro? did you miss this? He won some headers today. Plus Warnock put Bacuna on Dack to marked him out of game and it worked to his plan. We look more of a threat when Gallagher and Armstrong played upfront. aimless hoof? really? we played 68 long passes out of 348 passes we had today. Stats on the Rovers official website. which is just less than 20%. Compare to Cardiff which is over 29% well you just answered your own point. Its a point against a team that is likely to be challenging for top 6 and Last season its a game we would have lost
  5. We had to play direct if Both Graham and Gallagher play from start. I think starting both was wrong due to Morrison and Flint at the back. Need to play Armstrong or Rothwell. Chapman needs to start performing better for under 21's to.push for a place on bench. Im pleased with 3 clean sheets in a row. Walton getting better game by game..
  6. Hughton turned down the Sheff Wed job cos he wants PL job. Im unconvinced by him when he doesnt have his trusted number 2 with him in Calderwood. I suspect they could move for Pulis. Or Dan Cowley But im not sure what the right fit is for Stoke considering the different types of players you got there.
  7. Well we have Graham's shot 1st half shot that was blocked. Williams's shot that hit post second half. Both dont count as shots on target but both good efforts. Thought Lenihan's shot should have worked the keeper at least. I wouldnt play Graham at West Brom. Gallagher would start up front for me 4 games in 11 days.
  8. looking that way, another change of formation and players used. I don't know how they turn it around there tbh.
  9. good point today against a typical Warnock team. Game of few clear cut chances. very tight game. Defensive thought we were solid on the whole(tho miss Cunningham). Walton made a good save and claims crosses when he did. Lenihan and Williams is a very good partnership and keeping a third clean sheet in 5 games is very good and good start to the season. Bennett also good against Murphy and Hoilett. Attacking. Warnock decided to man mark Dack with Bacuna out of the game. Graham out played and no chance against their centre backs. so taking both off make sense. Players like Rothwell and Armstrong pace would cause their problems later in the game. I would have like to see them on earlier in the game. The Nyambe sub makes sense cos Downing was tired and not helping Bennett defensively enough so when both played down there stop that problem cos before that Murphy and Hoilett keep changing positions. We did have a clear cut chance that Johnson should have scored and Williams hitting post. so it could have a better but I would taken a point and a clean sheet before the game against Cardiff.
  10. Always rated Travis very highly. Already deffo starter for team for years to come
  11. Cos I rated him as a manager and I also think there is a massive problems at the club. If Jones does go then where do they next? they had 2 experience managers(Hughes, Lambert), 1 good championship manager in Rowett and one very highly rated manager in Jones. what next? youth manager? Smith isn't playing cos of Edwards who has been better. Ward is awful. Jones does belief in his diamond shape and that where he had his success. I wouldn't with that current, I would go 4-2-3-1 with that squad
  12. Gallagher made 6 app last season including no starts and 99 mins in total. The last 11 games for Birmingham he played for Birmingham he started 8 games out of 11. so there is 758 mins in total playing time there. We will have to disagree on the technical issue. We need to play the striker that is the best fit to hurt the opposition whether its pace on the counter or target man type.
  13. I hope he is given time to turn it around if he can but they does seem a massive problem at Stoke. They have been in freefall for over 2 years now. Thought Stoke transfer business wasn't good IMO. Signed Barnsley 1st choice keeper Davies and cant even get on the match day squad. very poor. Huddersfield need a new manager in shortly. Should be going for Adkins IMO but They need to ship out alot of the foreign players who aren't good enough and build in more British based players. Fulham look very good against Millwall. Cairney was very good again I believe
  14. Gallagher gives you a different option to Rothwell and Armstrong. Yes definitely our final ball needs working on. at the minute our best chances are falling to midfielders. I'm not bothered who scores as long as we win. How many of those games did Gallagher start up front and how many minutes has he played in those 21 games? didn't offer any attacking threat in either game? Well clearly he did
  15. cant offer a goal threat if our final ball has been so poor as I have said many times to you before. That's the major problem but we are winning 1 nil which I will take. We need to improve in a number of areas and each week we are getting better week on week. Our passing and final ball need improving but it has been getting better week on week The decision to head the ball back across was the right one. couldn't head it on target from his position if you look at his body and feet positions I have discuss Brereton at length with you off this site so I don't see the need to discuss it again I would both Gallagher and Graham against Cardiff for their height in both boxes. The biggest decision is who replace Cunningham at left back.
  16. no nothing said about it. Look more of impact injury tbh Gallagher missed a chance in the penalty area that he should have done better with. miss hit it. He proved he can perform from the right wing like he did against Boro where he was very good. Majority of those apperences Gallagher ha played in would have been under Steve Cotterill who played long ball route one football. that style doesn't suit his style. Armstrong played a vital role with his pace cos Hull played such a high line defensive he could get in regular and he should have scored 1. Hull have some decent players but we stop Bowen all night. The other winger played well but second half we stop him mostly. Hull lack an quality striker and 2. On Cardiff, for me, I'm surprise by Warnock signings up front this summer. I expect better tbh.
  17. Very much agree on Graham. He a different player when he doesnt start.. Mowbray said it was work in.progress atm as we can improve and play that final ball much better. Clean sheets help the defence and keeper confidence. But you can see the confidence improvement in Walton. Lenihan and Williams played like they wouldnt give up that clean sheet without a fight. Good to see.
  18. wins are win. simple as. Can only beat who we played.
  19. Bennett is the best right back we got. Nyambe isn't good enough. Armstrong played today cos we wanted to play more on the counter. Still think Chapman building his fitness I thought he was good tpoday. won tackles, heading was good enough really? He was very good on Saturday. Work his socks off, won the ball
  20. Very good win. Williams my man of the match. Outstanding there. Back 4 played very well. Impressed. Walton getting better each game. Impress by his pen save, commanding of area and coming out for crosses. Travis and Johnson very good. We got into some great positions by final ball was poor. We should have won by more. Impressed by Mowbray tactics. We can play much better as well so work in progress..
  21. I think Graham will start on Saturday. On Saturday, i think he knew he was done on Saturday and signalled to the bench to come off
  22. 3-1 Rovers. Dack first goalscorer Armstrong caused Hull massive problems last season away up front..
