Anyone still worried about Downing? We are dropping like flies with injuries and bookings mounting up. Football brain, versatile and if we get an hour a game out of him that gives us options.

Rovers v Middlesbrough Tuesday 3rd November

Candidate for man of the match on ESPN plus -
C’mon guys, if we tonk Boro it will be sex and drugs and rock n’roll again. I need to get through Tuesday night over here as well. Could be like Darlington on a Thursday night on steroids.
-
I think it is prudent. Proven player knows our system and flexible on the left side. Did a good job for us. Plus our squad is threadbare at the moment. Bound to get more so in the coming weeks. Heck, we are not re-signing Danny Murphy. ?

Thank God. Difficult to see from Coopersburg Pennsylvania. ? Thinking of you as I listen to Boris actually taking real questions from real people. Not a fan of his but I appreciate him taking the questions. President clown pants doesn’t even take questions from the media Maybe our Tony could have regular phone ins? ?

Believe me truly, you would not.

Coventry v ROVERS
bigbrandjohn replied to Hoochie Bloochie Mama's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
One thing that helps a side and supporters is the feel good factor. In all aspects of life, we sometimes forget that we have it pretty good and it takes someone to remind us. Comments like this raise the spirits of the team and fans and builds confidence and respect in the club. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/elliott-liverpool-support-blackburn-targets-19161900 That plus the calm authority of Barry Douglas has meant that the transfer window has brought not only good footballers into the club but positive influences genuinely excited to contribute to the club as well as line their own pockets One swallow doesn’t make a Summer but the early signs are encouraging. -
Coventry v ROVERS

As good as it gets. Very pleased for Brereton. Especially for Mowbray who took a punt on him and was slagged off by many on this site. Very strong transfer window and if we develop Elliott there will be plenty more where he came from. How great it is not to feel deflated at “teleprinter time.” -
Our strikers are crap because “#7s” are not target men. We have two target men out on the wing. I am sure one or both of them were bought to replace Graham. With Elliott in as a proper winger Mowbray needs to chose who will be his target man. And stick with him for a while.

Watford v Rovers Wed 21st Oct 7.45pm

I remember standing on the terraces at Vicarage Road when we won 3-1. I think Tony Field scored and maybe one of their ex players Garbutt or Endean. Same again please. -
Nottingham Forest Home

Well the good news is that there is no pressure to keep a winning team together ? -
This is a good window if it all happens. We gave gone from worrying about having proper cover to who plays where. This signals a strong push with two new players from promoted clubs, a class act from Liverpool, and an experienced goalie as cover and ability to push for a first team place. Plus hopefully none of our stars moving out. if we are going to make a push, this is the time. Integrating four players can be a challenge but it’s a good problem to have.
-
Probably with a buy option. Whatever it is, it is unusual and pretty impressive. That’s the kind of guy we want around the place.
-
Looks like Leeds fans will miss Douglas. Ticks Mowbray good guy box. https://motleedsnews.com/transfers/tyler-roberts-should-follow-him-many-leeds-fans-react-to-phil-hay-transfer-update/

The good news is that whoever we are talking to will take a look at our results and league position and be attracted by the possibilities. Big clubs Wednesday, Forest, Derby not so much.
-
I don’t care if it is pork scratchings on tapioca pudding if we stay fourth

So good to see us doing well. Well it would have been if ESPN plus hasn’t locked me out. The very same people who have been slagged off relentlessly on here, are playing the games of their lives. Mowbray is embracing youth and rather than bed players in is chucking them in and they are galvanizing those around them. Dolan being the obvious one. These are challenging times in our lives. When our football team is on song like we have not seen for a while, it gives everything else a lift. Thank you Chef Mowbray and your talented team.

Anything happening on the transfer front? ?
-
Watch him capture the Brighton Jersey and play his socks off.
-
Hmm. A few things going on there. 1 can’t build a Football club with loan players? 2 Young players can’t sustain consistency ? 3 anything can You tell me about Ryan Manning. No. He is a name you have thrown out at me. ? We are not going to spend all our money on Ryan Manning. ? 4 we’ve got no money. ? I know to the penny how much we have got to spend ?

Rovers vs. Wycombe - 19th Sept, 3pm
bigbrandjohn replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Neither will Brereton -
Someone else available on the market. ? “Stokesy has been in training for approximately 4 weeks now and it’s fair to say that we both knew that there was going to be a lot of work to be done to get Anthony into top shape to play Premiership football. “Whilst trying to get the player in shape, it’s been extremely frustrating for all of us, staff and player alike, that we can’t seem to get the intense training needed into the player”. Jeez we have signed some belters over the years.
-
Or we finish with 10 men?
-
One thing you can be guaranteed. If we wait until the last minute, we will pay through the nose for the privilege. That is the essence of negotiation. Whether it is a house or a Centre back. The ultimate inspiration is the deadline.
-
Side note, I was impressed by Leicester TV. Matt Elliott and the other bloke were knowledgeable about the Rovers team and launched into interesting side discussions about Centre forwards who were good Centre backs. They even remembered Warhurst. Not your usual one dimensional stuff.
