For any business that sees its income fall off a cliff, the immediate triage is cost-cutting &/or a fire sale of near-liquid assets to generate liquidity. So expect all saleable players to go in the summer & a series of lay-offs of administration staff & all discretionary spending to be put on hold. If the club’s directors can’t commit to a going concern statement in the accounts to the satisfaction of the auditors then logically administration must surely come into play…

The club isn’t under investigation…so yes.

It was allowed for FFP at the time - there was a looming rule change so they did it before the loophole was closed.

So the next question is “do they intend to send the cash notwithstanding the bond/escrow requirement”? Being able to do so is one thing…being willing to is another…
