  1. To be fair to the club (well a normal club, but go with me) Breretons first contract with the club as a £6/7m player with huge potential would, surely have been worth more than an extention based on what was produced in his few seasons. Then Chile and Diaz happened out of the blue and we haven't been able to sort anything since be that club or player.
  2. Burnley are absolutely walking this league, to be so far ahead at this stage is impressive. Who would have thought that bringing in a manager and giving him the backing to bring in his own players would be so positive. Roll on tomorrow to watch us try to play the managers chosen style with last year's players.
  3. Agree with all that, I see somebody like Rathbone and it infuriates more that our main stay in midfield is a lad who openly states that he is here for the learning process. Give me a dog of war any day over a kid that's here to learn ahead of 6 annual appearances off the bench for Liverpool at best.
  4. We are simply just too predictable, we don't have a single full back who will give the opposition a worry. To know that nobody is going to bomb on gives your opponent so much less to worry about. Without Brereton (woefully out of form) or a Dolan (recovering from injury) or even a Markanday (not yet trusted) we can barely even break away out of own half. We've had it for years and days like yesterday bring it all back, playing for Blackburn Rovers is all too easy, all very nice. Nobody really expects anything at the club, keep getting paid, 4-0 defeat or 4-0 win the world keeps turning.
  5. As somebody said before losing is part of football, it is actually something we are very used to, but I'm getting absolutely cheesed off at the amount of no shows. We cannot keep having performances like this, Preston which are humiliations. Also let's not forget the Cardiff away, Coventry away were we offered absolutely nothing and seemed clueless. I don't follow any other teams closely but I simply cannot believe that teams can be as bad as us when they have off days!
  6. Hyam has been excellent this season but they are two diabolical, half arsed clearances for the goals!!
  7. He does make me smile, "flying into tackles are we boys!!"
  8. Burnley fans are starting to challenge Liverpool fans for the world is against us title! If you are bringing a Daily Mail headline to a debate you are starting 1-0 down I'm afraid. Enjoy a season of beating tin cans, the standard in the league is dire, which as you'll be aware as a frequent visitor to this site we have said for years and not just because Burnley are doing well.
  9. You can only take satisfaction from any win, it was a tough watch though. Hyam and Dack were massive positives. Diaz really does seem to be slowly morphing back into Brereton, the offside run in the first half was criminal with how good Dack's through ball was. Buckleys red seemed to be justified by the majority the other day, I'm struggling to think that anybody could justify their chap not getting one today for a hip high studs up challenge.
  10. I think this gate may be hitting home to Tomasson just how much that Burnley game hurt!
  11. If this is modern progressive football then I'm checking out. Our opposition, in the last two games (our bitter piss taking rivals) from coaching staff to fans to players must be in a slight state of shock that we would continue to play a way (that we can't!) and not try to change it when its going horrificly wrong! We as fans have to sit there being laughed at by our buck tooth friends who cannot believe their luck that we would continue to keep handing them the game. All the while our players are just getting smaller and smaller. I'm struggling to go two footed on Travis as he has shown in my opinion he has an effective game in the last few seasons, a rough scrappy game but he is very efficient at that game and we have liked him for it. Something is massively a miss at what he is trying or being asked to do as a player, I currently see a player before me who would be struggling to get in Clitheroe team.
  12. I saw some extremely "derby game" like tackles coming from Burnley and didn't see any from ours, I think you know the point I was making.
  13. I thought we looked like an amateur team in the 1st round of the FA Cup who had no idea of how to lay a glove on the opposition. Watching them hurry us and the passes getting more and more ragged until we invariably shanked the ball out of play was absolutely humiliating for me. I stand by this comment, to me the ease with which they beat us today is more humiliating than how they would have felt when we beat them by 5, 20+ years ago. The team we beat them with that day was full of stars, today we got absolutely battered by Ashley Barnes!! I didn't witness one player for us with a set of balls to come and take the ball or at least kick some of their players back, as they won the fight as well as the game.
  14. The left back was Panzo, I agree thought he was excellent. On loan from Forest. Although Vale didn't help himself I thought he made him look like a schoolboy too!
  15. My overall thoughts on Travis would be if he was only able to play right back he wouldn't be a professional footballer. He lacks ability on the ball for range passing and creative passing to play full back. I highly rate him in central midfield for his tenacity and ball winning, I actually cringe watching him at full back as I rate him in the middle.
  16. I need to hold my hands up and admit I know absolutely nothing about football if there was a game plan there. How said "plan" lasted until the 80th minute without trying something new, like attempting some form of width. That is football that makes fans angry as there are no positives to take whatsoever!
  17. This is just getting bizarre, we have no right sided outlet and when we make something on the left Brittain and Diaz are next to each other with nobody in the box.
  18. Very tough watch that, incredibly poor. Jack Vale is being schooled by their defenders. Unless somebody starts carrying the ball forwards we stand no chance of scoring.
  19. This trying to play out from the back and playing tippy tappy passes around the back is starting to look as effective as playing hoof ball to a team of midgets!! That was about as tough a watch for out and out frustration as it gets for me.
  20. I agree with this, I have a much bigger issue on the other side that if Brittain is unavailable we have a back up of JRC, Travis or Buckley. The Trav at right back is a double blow due to missing his steel in the middle.
  21. Superb win for the boys, so many things to be happy with. I think the performance was very good after 20 minutes but the thing that gave me the most pride was the amount of academy lads in the squad and putting in very good performances. Wharton was outstanding. Carter looks like the Pompey loan did him the world of good. Dack will always have the ability to play a ball nobody else will see or can do. Hyam looked solid. Diaz was unplayable for their defence. Fair play to their keeper he made a few worldie saves!
  22. Woah, woah, woah. Less of that rational explaining, people won't like it!
  23. Beyond wanting to play a lofted through ball behind their defence I can't see any semblance of a plan. If there is any of the old Dack left we are desperate for him to get on the ball, didn't see much of him that half!
  24. It was absolutely barking mad, Joshua fought much better than the first fight and was going to leave with lots of credit. It was set to be a Usyk/Ukraine celebration then Joshua had one of his hissy fits. Eddie Hearn could see the pounds flying down the road when he grabbed the mic!!
