  1. I'm done with Tony. That's my lot, regardless of the result. Mowbray out.
  2. The top 7 in the league is an interesting bunch of clubs. Top two have been relegated recently and have funds that are incomparable to us. Swansea were relegated a few seasons ago but still have parachute payments and a 20 million pound striker. Brentford have amassed a fortune thorough their signings and obviously have an amazing scouting network to get all their top notch players. Watford recently relegated and same as Bournemouth and Norwich. Stoke, parachute payments and still able to play 18 million pound defenders. My only massive surprise is Boro. My point is yes I expect better from this squad, but Mowbray bought the players, introduced the youth and has rebuilt the club. I'd say the majority of the top seven have better squads than us so we are roughly where we should be. That said I'd give him until the end of the season and then appoint someone else. The old managers that have done the rounds should be avoided and id like an up and coming manager from the lower leagues.
  3. Wow Gallagher has some decent pace...didn't realise. Well done, that's an assist
  4. As has been shown over the years Venky were duped and they blundered through. However the last few years there is a definite change in the way we are run. They have continually put their money into the club, close to 200 million now. I am in the camp of draw a line and move on, we are stuck with each other.
  5. No excuses today, that is a strong line up. Rothwell is the key player for me, he plays well and we will score goals.
  6. I agree but, Ayala is out and without Johnno and Rothwell, we have literally no one to replace them... Once fit we have a decent side but atm...
  7. I said this a few weeks ago, JRC is one of the first names on the teamsheet now. He is so versatile and I think he has an excellent football brain. It's good to have so many options across the pitch. Credit where it's due, Mowbray has built this squad and the way we play now is brilliant to watch. Also interested to see how apparently 'untouchable' players have been dropped. Douglas will be the best signing of all imo.
  8. Credit to Mowbray for the transformation? I can recall many a message from you saying that he is never going to be a championship footballer!
  9. Mercer I am a tad baffled. First of all the majority of our players are poor signings and our recruitment is poor. Now that's fine but the management is poor? Who gave the young players a chance in the same place??? Mowbray is no Messiah but I can see a style of play now and we look a decent shout for the play offs. Sacking him if he does badly over a few games, come off it lol!
  10. Yeah i see that. To be fair to BB he has looked like a decent player recently and if he can add goals to his tally then he may be classed as a successful signing ...big if...
  11. Why is everything that Mowbray gets right an accident and everything he gets wrong his total incompetence? Somewhere in the middle for me, definitely more positive than negative. Wonderful seeing our youth players coming through and thus far his signings have generally been successful.
  12. Why change a team that has won 5-0? Let's see how the game progresses but JRC is one of the first names on the teamsheet these days.
  13. Brereton has worked his socks off and would be my mom, which seems odd as Arna has scored two and Dolan has been immense!
  14. All Ben there, well done Dolan! Excellent run and pass from Brereton in the build up
  15. That right side is far more attacking with JRC there. Will be interesting to see how they start, I expect a win by 3/4 goals today.
  16. According to that ITK account Manning will be announced on Monday. Amazing signing if it happens.
  17. Depressing but to put it into context. Solanke, 15 million. Lerma- 25 million Danjuma- 13.7 million We have Bell...:(
  18. Lindsay on loan is my guess
  19. Matt Jansen to Palace instead of United? I think Palace were in the championship but not sure.
  20. Absolute nonsense in this climate to even imply that we have money. Best to wait and see, but promising that money is being spent on a keeper and apparent bids for other players too.
  21. I thought we had no money? This deal is 500k so clearly Venkys have given Tony a budget to work with.
  22. Both have become better players since Mowbray arrived. Raya was marginally better I'd say.
  23. Well no because then we would be in the relegation zone. Three points mean we have a realistic shot of still getting into the playoffs.
  24. We have lost our talisman Dack. Minus Lenihan our leader, Evans too and lost Travis in the game too. That on top of Rothwell. I'd love to know the cost of the first 11 of the teams in the top 10 today, we must be close to the bottom of spenders yet we are 3 points off the playoffs. BB is looking better by the minute.
  25. I'd love to see the number of players Tony inherited that were either loans or their contracts were up for renewal compared to Bowyer. In the season Bowyer took charge we broke the championship record for a transfer with 8 million for Rhodes. We also had the likes of MGP, Hanley, Givet, Olsson, Best, Murphy, King, Dann, Dunn, Rochina, Goodwillie in the squad. Players who cost a lot of money /on pl wages/ sellable assets. In comparison Tony had the likes of Raya, Mulgrew, Nyambe, Conway, Guthrie, Stokes, Graham. I would also argue that Raya and Nyambe became better players after that season with Tony. So from the playing aspect Tony has rebuilt the entire squad and I was immensely proud to see: Lennihan, Nyambe, Travis, Buckley in the first 11 and Joe Castello on the bench.
