Whether there is money for transfers or not, Eustace is Head Coach, so, like JDT, he will not be responsible for buying and selling players. I think it’s fair to say that JDT had little say in transfers.

It wouldn’t be a shame but it won’t happen, even if he has been promised a big budget.

Warnock would've been a good stopgap appointment, but very hard to imagine Broughton being interested, (would probably feel threatened by his experience and personality). For me, Neil is damaged goods and his career has already peaked a good few years ago at Norwich. Eustace kept Brum afloat under similar circumstances to what he has come into here, and his star still has the potential to rise.

Maybe his departure will be announced next week.

That has absolutely nothing to do with either man's abilities as a head coach. Good players don't necessarily make good managers, and vice versa. I liked JDT and don't blame him for this season, but he does have a relegation on his coaching CV, which is conveniently never discussed.

Along the same lines as JDT, seems he been allowed to bring one, his assistant Matt Gardiner.

When I heard the news about Eustace yesterday I was relieved. I really did think we were looking at the likes of McCall. We do need someone more suitable for working at a basket case club, and this guy has proven he can keep that type of club out of danger. Only sacked (harshly) due to an ownership change at Brum, and appears to be at least half decent.

It will be interesting to see how JDT’s successor fares with the rag, tag & bobtail assortment of players assembled by chancer Broughton. Very difficult to compare JDT to previous managers, because he wasn’t the manager. God help the next bloke.

No, but I have to say, compared to who we might have ended up with, and under the current circumstances, I think Eustace is a decent shout.
