There’s always a bit more decorum at Lords, but I think Australia’s dominance has also quietened the chanting.

Great result at the most important cricket match in London today 😉🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

I just hope it’s anywhere near as good a game as the first one. A great contrast of styles, with Australia succeeding in their aim of playing the game at their pace and not allowing England to dictate the terms. Makes for a fascinating series.

The batting is fine, and will be even better when Jennings finally returns. I agree re - a quick bowler. Thats what we should’ve gone for instead of De - Grondhomme. Will the ECB let us play Jimmy if he gets dropped? Alas, probably not.

Well that was fun . So glad I stuck around. One or two gave up with the weather before a ball had been bowled. A really special night under the lights at OT. Well done Lancs. Great atmosphere , too.

Of the two overseas signings this season, one was excellent (Mitchell) and one terrible (De - Grondhomme). We were crying out for a pace bowler, especially with Gleeson and Mahmood being injury concerns. De - Grondhomme essentially ousted both Lamb and Vilas as overseas and bowling all rounder, and hasn’t done anything to justify that. On paper, the batting is great in T20, but I think there’s been an element of no-one taking responsibility, until recently. Salt should not be opening. We are constantly firefighting after poor starts. Livingstone is not a captain . Lamb has been pigeon holed as a one day / T20 player for some time, and evidently his face no longer fits even in that. With Parkinson, if we had a decent spin bowling coach, I feel he could’ve recovered his form. It’s been painful to witness his decline. Reminiscent of Kerrigan.

I tend not to go to deeply into the politics at Lancs on here, but there are plenty of them! Unfortunately, there are a good few examples of our homegrown players hitting a ceiling and then regressing. You would have to question the standard of coaching, especially with regards to batting and spin bowling. Chilton has been interviewed by Radio Lancs today, and he basically said they were hedging their bets with Parkinson to see how he performed until season’s end, (out of contract). In the meantime, Kent have come along and offered him a contract, and you can’t blame him for taking it. Lamb has been a good one day / T20 player and had very few chances in four day cricket. I feel he should’ve been involved in the T20 campaign this season, especially with injuries to key bowlers. Again, you can’t blame him for moving on. The members are restless.

I’m also at OT. It’s stopped, but I foresee an on / off type of game with reduced overs.
-
Might be a truncated game, looking at the forecast.

It’ll be on Lancs TV, via YouTube.

Big game for Lancs this evening (weather permitting). Gleeson finally back in the squad. Hope he plays and comes through unscathed. He's been badly missed.

No, "Jon Dahl's". A Danish bacon butty, battered and deep fried. -
23/24 kit; is a new sponsor needed?

Disgusting. Shows the type of people who are running the club. -
An excellent, much needed win for Lancs at Southport. Beautiful weather for it, too. The seaside venues are ideal for Championship matches.

It would be interesting to know whether or not JDT is on the trip to Pune. That was , reportedly, the original plan. -

I think it's safe to say that JDT's (new) agent has been very busy hawking his name around to all and sundry, -
New Sporting Director / DOF

Lucky old JDT 😂 How the hours will fly by ! -
I don’t. They have made some poor decisions. We needed a pace bowler as one of the overseas signings and Livingstone, whilst a very good player, is not a leader / captain. Some of the team selections have also been a bit odd, eg Jones in T20. Not his game. Anyway, the Blackpool air has done the trick, as usual. We never lose here 🙂 Looking forward to Southport on Sunday for some proper cricket 😉

it crossed my mind that JDT might come into the reckoning for Celtic. Mowbray at 100 - 1 are ridiculously short odds. . He was terrible their first time around. -

Well we’d better hope whoever they appoint doesn’t want JDT because, whilst we don’t want him to leave at all, the worst thing possible is for him to go in several weeks time. -

Yes, there were posts on here that read like their obituary. They pissed the league. -

Just off to the bookies to put 50P on Leeds to win the League 😉 -

I'm not suggesting that he would definitely take it, (if offered), but I do remember posts on here 12 months ago, (not from yourself), claiming that Burnley were a basket case who were likely to suffer successive relegations. -

Up to now, the former Newcastle and AC Milan forward has stayed under the radar of football’s elite clubs despite his successful career as a player (Football Insider). Agreed. The above is the relevant sentence, which is also daft. It's common knowledge that a successful player doesn't necessarily become a successful manager. -

I know, it's a laughable description. As ridiculous as when a young, upcoming player is dubbed, "the new *********". Bielsa's missus would never buy Whalley chippy, either.
