Good points. Venkys were also well advised by Williams and even the self-serving Paul Hunt. They chose who to listen to. Ignoring Williams was particularly unforgivable.

It’s been used as a way to absolve them since Kean left. They didn’t even publicly sack Kean. That was the opportunity to play the badly advised line. So someone advised them to keep Steve Kean as manager? Surely they should have been able to see through this ‘advice’? But no, they remained committed and had to let some staff go. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2012/may/10/blackburn-not-for-sale-venkys Can’t believe all of this has become board discussion again on a whim. Division created by those who want fans to unite behind Venkys. Sleeping dogs should be left sleeping.

Things you dislike about football.

Along with the contradiction of Venkys having it within their financial power to change things (as other clubs are doing) but then being told that FFP is the problem. They could have spent a fraction of what they have loaded onto us as debt and been far more successful. 10 years next year and we still look light years away from the team and club we were when they bought us. Yet fans accept these excuses and some even champion them as part of our future. -
Mowbray cost us too many points last season. Would you feel unqualified to comment on poor quality food in a restaurant because you hadn’t seen the chef cooking it?

For any Rovers fan born this century, Rovers finishing runners-up in the third division is as big a success as they have ever seen. If you assume Venkys only really started making decisions when they potted Coyle, they could even be seen as helping us turn a corner. A stabilised club reversing its fortunes. So it begs the question, which bits do we need to ignore? Sacking Allardyce? Not listening to John Williams? Listening to Anderson? Signing Kean? Promoting Agnew and Shaw? Employing Paul Senior? Berg and Appleton? Selling Rhodes and undermining Lambert? Undermining Cheston by turning down Warnock in favour of Coyle? Backing Mowbray with millions? When does the clock start for trusting Venkys and moving forward? Such a surreal thread. It’s like we are back in 2013. https://www.thesun.co.uk/archives/football/817352/david-dunn-jeering-blackburn-rovers-fans-need-to-get-real/ -

Nothing about any of this is funny. Just how old were you when Venkys rocked up? 10? 11? You are breathtakingly naive Joe. -

Kean said exactly the same about me and several others. Your opinion of me matters none. You stick with all those hundreds of people quietly sending you supportive PMs though. Ironically, Kean himself also got a similar number of supportive personal letters delivered to him by his beleaguered postman. Actually, you sound a lot like him: Focus on the positives; real fans can see what you are trying to do; fans need to move on and back the Venkys. We were called 1%. I hindsight we were more like 5% of the genuine fans. Didn’t make us any less right and doesn’t make us any less right now either. You made the choice to rake up old ground. Deal with the criticism. Venkys Out. -

Agree with most of that. However, I don’t agree that Waggott has tried to bring back lost fans. To date he has looked at ways of maximising the money made out of existing fans. -

He isn’t listening. But I think he has me on ignore at this point anyway. Nothing worse than someone talking about ‘balance’ while having their hands over their ears and blinkers over their eyes. -

So go ahead and make your documentary with your angle but do expect there to be criticism if people strongly disagree. You’ve picked a very emotive topic and you will need to have a far thicker skin as a result. However, if you want balance then your questions have to be balanced and open. As Matty points out, you are trying to lead people to agree with your narrative with the way you are wording your questions. You appear to have already divided your respondents into “positive” and “negative”. Venkys are still here but you seem to want fans to behave like it’s a fresh start. There can be no fresh start until Venkys and their self-made, failure-chasing, debt are in the past rather than the present. -

I think I see where you are going wrong. Raking up the past is never a good idea but when the past is Venkys completely undoing everything Jack built then trying to paint a different picture to somehow ‘approve’ Venkys or give them a fan-backed mandate going forward is going to annoy folk - particularly on here. Any discussion about the future should be long term: what happens when Venkys leave? (And then sign up to the Rovers Trust. Until then we are absolutely stuck with them and the best that fans can really do is pretend they aren’t here - at least for as long as they keep funding their mistake. Or if trying the narrative is to say that Kean was only despised by a minority then I recommend taking your questionnaire to Facebook because a big part of the BRFCS postership is part of that “minority”. I don’t hate people as a rule, life is too short, but I hate Steve Kean. -
Like Downing before him I think Raya went to Mowbray’s office and said I want to leave. Tony being Tony likely said if you don’t want to be here then go. Meanwhile Leutwiler said after two years on the bench... I’ve really enjoyed these last two years.
-
A lot. Walton coming in along with a proper goalkeeping coach and letting Leutwiler go instead of Raya would have been preferable.

Sorry but this is an agenda laid bare. Or just very very naive. How about focusing on a future without horrific directionless owners - like Portsmouth, Blackpool, Bolton? How about hoping for a future where fans are at the heart of a football club and not just a necessary evil? -
Can’t believe the FA are lecturing anyone about morals!

Utterly typical of the arrogant approach to Rovers fans and ticket sales. Our fanbase won’t increase while Waggott is in charge of policy unless somehow we fluke it to the PL. Even then I wouldn’t be at all surprised if ST prices went up significantly to reflect the “quality of the opposition”. Has there been a single positive move made by Waggott towards fans? I consider the price freeze neutral and necessary. -
Just so we are clear. He is no longer the manager who got West Brom promoted to the PL as Champions (and FA Cup semi-finalists) because he has moved away from a (successful) ethos of free-flowing attacking football in favour of (unsuccessful) pragmatism? Yay. ?
