A racket is exactly what it is @blueboy3333 But they are all in it for themselves: ‘Supporters’ want everyone to feel like they do and pay the club the asking price to make us competitive - noble if slightly naive. ‘Fans’ (aka ‘football fans’) want cheaper prices to be tempted out of the house to watch the local team that they have an affinity for but not at any cost. ‘Sky viewers’ (aka armchair fans) want value for money. Midweek red button means I can watch away games that I would not otherwise be able to get to (even if I could justify the total cost - including time off work). To others it is their preference for all games. Bring on 3pm Saturday kick offs. ’Pubs’ want to make money. Exploiting the gap between Sky subscriptions and ticket prices. With everything that has happen to pubs, not just the very damaging last 20 years but the previous 80 years of demographic and economic changes (mill town bust), I do feel sorry for pub landlords. They have the potential as a community place but with a dwindling customer-base, smoking bans and rising rent, they are fighting a losing battle. Sky is asking them to pay thousands for football coverage and then taking it away from them. Golden goose springs to mind. ‘Clubs’ also want to make money. They are competing with Sky and pubs but also take blood money from Sky so they can’t really complain. Going after pubs seems churlish if not cruel. But again, greed means that they can’t or won’t be realistic about pricing. They think by crushing the pub culture those people will instead come to Ewood. (Some numpty even said as much in the LT comments). Wake up call, they won’t - except maybe one or two. If anything they will become even more bitter. Then if the likes of Stanley offer imaginative deals for their football fix, a generation of future Rovers fans is potentially lost. “Why do you support Stanley?” “Cos my dad/grandad does and I go with him”. Hearts and minds, Waggott, not wallets and notes. ‘EFL’. Football vultures. Skimming money from clubs and paying themselves big bucks. All the while pretending they are there for the good of all clubs. Yet allow inequality between them and sign off unfair TV deals. ‘FA’. Archaic, out of date, irrelevant, non-organisation who sit back and watch. Focusing on trivial matters like rock-paper-scissors-gate to ‘uphold the laws of the game’.

Technically it’s still my little gang but we have a rotating leader so it’s Matty’s turn as Grand Master. ??

There was even a moment late in the second half were he busted a gut down the right flank and outpaced the defender. He must have had a lot of adrenaline flowing through him!

3 (decimal) points scored. What was amusing was how quickly Chaddy recognised himself in your post when no names were mentioned. Moving on... (3 more!) Brereton hasn’t really been given any kind of chance to show what he can do so far this season. It may be that there is some financial reason for that but it has to be acknowledged that Graham’s form has been a big part of why we are all questioning the merits of spending so much on a sub when we have far more pressing positions that need attention. What has been baffling is that when Graham hasn’t been fit, or has needed a rest day, Dack and/or Armstrong have been preferred to the giant young centre forward. I was absolutely delighted for Danny yesterday and his linking up with Dack (particularly in the second half) was a joy to watch. The fact that it all happened in front of the BBE made it all the more enjoyable. When we are on it we really look like a team. When things aren’t going well we do have some major flaws which get exposed. One of which is Mowbray’s Plan B (or lack of). It’s not all that often I can recall him turning a game around. We are either great or poor - hence the schizophrenic mood on messageboards and social media. Hopefully once Brereton is “our player” on 1st Jan we will start to see him being used more regularly to keep Graham fresh - and ultimately to replace him, with next season Graham being used to keep Brereton fit. That would be the win-win scenario. No doubt in my mind though that Graham has earned his place on merit. But, and it’s a big but (excuse the, sort of, pun) he does need a Happy Dacky alongside him. Equally Dack needs a Reed to do the running for him. As much as getting in reinforcements (wing, rb, cb) in January, we need to be using some of the cash burning a manboob-sized hole in Belaji’s shirt pocket to be splashed on securing a permanent deal for Reed.

To be fair, Chaddy has been pretty consistent when it comes to Graham. I don’t agree with him but at least he is staying true to his opinion.

It’s always the same, Matty Bad results/performances = unhappiness for most and odd extreme defensiveness for a few. Good results/performances = happiness for most and baiting from the same few about how they were somehow ‘right’ to defend bad results/performances. It’s weird. I would have thought good results should make everyone happy. Sadly not!

I find it really odd that you never said any of this while he was wearing a Rovers badge. Quite the opposite in fact.

Burnley pub renamed after Sean Dyche

they haven’t got 11,000 core fans! -

Have to wonder if Brereton is on some kind of pay as you play loan arrangement with Forest so if we don’t need to play him then we don’t...

Amazing to think that last time out we went 1-0 down and brought off Graham for Williams...

And breathe... After the last two games and the last few weeks, that was the response we were all looking for. Passion, energy, determination, closing down, passing, movement, players on the same wavelength. We had it all (going forward). When Dack is on his game the rest of the team step up. When we create real chances for him, Graham obliges. Why we couldn’t motivate ourselves for local derbies I’ll never know but we can’t wait until the backs are against the wall in future to put in that kind of display. We need a bit of momentum now. I’ve given him stick but he deserves credit for getting them wound up and letting them off the leash like that. His line up was not what I’d hoped but somehow - by luck or design - it got the best out of our two “talismen” - powered by a Duracell bunny in a Harrison Reed costume. Where we do still have cause for concern is that even playing our best football all season we still conceded 2 goals. Hand on heart I’d sacrifice defensive resilience for attacking flowing football (providing we scored goals) but we need to be able to perform the basics right at the back. We did that today for the most part but the most part isn’t enough, we need consistency from our defence and although there was nothing anyone could do for Joao’s pile-driver (except applaud - class, if slightly odd, of him not to celebrate) their second was a shambles from our perspective. Wednesday were good without being great but still made it a testing afternoon. We won’t scored 4 every week (sadly) so balance will be required. I did wonder what was different today. The lack of experimenting? Round pegs in round holes? Conway back in the side? Williams back out on the left? Bell out? (Bell would do well to learnt from Conway) Rodwell not in the side? Maybe it was just that we focussed on our own game, played to our strengths, and kept things simple. Let the opposition worry about us for a change. It was also nice to see Brereton brought in to directly replace Graham (even if only to allow Graham, and Dack, the ovations their performances deserved). Nowhere near enough time to judge him. Went for a short corner in the dying seconds instead of staying in the box but maybe he was trying to show his professional side. Very happy this evening. Crack open the Chateau Neuf Du Pape, Merce, Chaddy needs a top up!

That. Was. Brilliant.

I said taking a step back it’s a good appointment. The timing of announcing it was poor - in the aftermath of this week. If that’s talking out of both sides of your mouth then maybe that’s just you.
-
Well if nothing else, once more we are treated to a line up that DOES NOT get the fans on side. That tells its own story. Very similar to when Bowyer kept selecting Lowe game after game. The first thing today’s side are going to have to do is get the fans on side. Imagine buying a ticket at full price and then seeing that!
-
Pretty uninspiring stuff from Mowbray. Let’s hope he rams it down our throats with an emphatic win today. At least the weather will be nice.
-
Massive changes.
-
? sorry to hear that.
-
Just giving you a heads up so you can get down early before half time. Pass it on to your dad so he can get his pie and pint and your pop and crisps. Anyway, makes a change from Mowbray’s team selections (and subsequent results) putting a downer on things.

Brings a whole new meaning. By the way, they trialled the contactless on Monday at the U23s (I used it). Took about 5 minutes to print the receipt that they insisted on giving out. Expect queues!!

The Championship is like bottom half of the PL only more expensive. Yeah, we know it’s inferior football but we don’t have the money to subsidise ticket prices so we have to rip you all off in order to compete. One of the few benefits of top flight football in England is cheaper tickets - how perverse is that?! Well, except at Rovers. Waggott would almost certainly increase prices if we were promoted saying the wages had gone up.

Are you unable to store more than a couple of sentences at a time or is comprehension not your strong suit? I said that in my first sentence of the post you quoted.

Sad but true.

I bet you could agree more if you really tried.

Waggott is out of touch with the fan base.
