Unless they change the ko time, it’s not on TV. They are showing Sheff Utd v Derby.

Crews? Some of the games look as though it’s one person with a handy-cam and laptop like they have at reserve games. No replays. Outsourced freelance commentary. I’d say your instinct is the right one.

Kind of transfer related... Does anyone else think we should be bringing Scott Wharton back in January and giving him game time in our U23s? A loan may have been the right move at the time but it hasn’t worked out as he isn’t playing. Our U23s are getting walloped every week against a higher standard of player/team than we faced last year. Surely he would get more out of playing against PL2 Div 1 sides than benched (and some weeks not even on the bench) for Lincoln.

Got me again. ??

Dreadful night tonight. We only got the penalty after Mols was brought on. Very lacklustre and the midfield didn’t look interested in defending or getting stuck in. Lots of mistakes too. West Ham were lively but not great and we made them look brilliant. We played like a team that was in the habit of losing. Bit of a tantrum from Magloire after he was subbed. Not much else to remark on.

That reads like you think Venkys aren’t putting transfer money in?
-
That would be disingenuous though. Talk about breakeven ticket sales means that the club is trying to wash its own face operationally. Spending £7m (that we don’t have) means the transfer budget is completely separate.

Funny, we used to say exactly the same about Bowyer.
-
Even worse, Matty, Waggott (and many fans) will blame the lack of support on the fans not backing the club rather than their awful pricing strategy. It’s like they think that the slate is wiped clean and fans should be responding. Responding to what, promotion from the third tier? A division we should never have been in in the first place? They employed Kean and we were relegated. Everyone thought when the brought in Bowyer - and then Lambert that we had turned a corner. Then they brought on Coyle and we were relegated again. Once bitten twice shy. Not until we are a mid table PL side will Venkys have made it up to us. The followings that we’ve have at PNE for Lambert and then Mowbray, nicely punctuate how much fans want to be back, and serve as a cautionary reminder of how quickly we can go from the highs back to the lows.

So you did say these things despite your denial, not 5 minutes ago?

-
Chaddy, you backed Coyle, yes or no? He regularly impressed you, yes or no? You believed the owners should have backed him financially, yes or no?
-
And yet we had the Chaddometer... But where do you get off calling people liars?
-
You backed Coyle!!! (Every other month anyway)

Ladies once again making a mockery of having to play in this division. Someone should be hanging their head in shame. What ever happened to Doncaster Belles... -

Fair play. Offering a discount for booking early. They’ll be able to make sure the have planned enough olives and breadsticks. I can recommend the Rigatoni Al Mowbray Piccante with calzonal marking. -
Agreed. The only way it makes sense is if it was a Venkys signing and not a Mowbray one. Mowbray seemed happy about the signing although tried to play down the transfer fee. Was that his way of trying to avoid feeling pressured to play him because of the price tag? The fact that he seems to be going out of his way not to pick him, and instead dreaming up new formations and moving players around, does tell its own story though. He is also reluctant to admit he made any mistakes which suggests if he started yesterday again he still wouldn’t have started Brereton. If he doesn’t play then he won’t pay back his transfer fee on the field - nor off it. One does wonder how this one will play out. Not being able to find room (let alone finding a formation/role) for Venkys marquee signing, yet not getting adequate results or performances - and maybe even asking for more money will test they faith they have in him. Some people defend his “only four defeats in 18”, others note his “only 6 wins”. Once again, it comes down to the different perspectives of what is negative. Are fans being negative to want better performances and more wins? Are fans positive if they happily accept mediocre results and make excuses for days like yesterday? £7m spent on one player automatically raises expectations about where this club could go. Wasting that on a flop while playing League One players will undoubtedly raise eyebrows - and rightly so in my view.

Did I say “rest”, I meant “dropping” - and a kick up the backside. It’s all a bit too nicey-nicey. “Dack - I am your father (figure)” He hasn’t been that good for the last month and a half. I’m not sure Brereton and Graham are the right for a top two. What we are missing in a Bellamy or Jansen type to play off Graham. Armstrong could be that player but I don’t see Mowbray playing a traditional front two any time soon.

Can’t believe I missed the Batman and Blueboy-wonder show on Tuesday! Good job BRFCS has built-in catch-up! -
That’s a great photo by the way!

I don’t see Dack as a PL player at all. He’s 25 in less that a month. As an attacking player, if it hasn’t happened by now it’s unlikely to. He has too much baggage, and right now seems to be losing his edge. Badly needs a rest but will Mowbray be brave enough?
-
I don’t like it when people get too attached to managers. It reminds me that the club is still rotten with Venkys here, so nobody trusts them to get a better one and so anyone half decent (or just a good guy) will get automatic backing. At a healthy club the manager would be under pressure to get results rather than being grateful they aren’t a Kean or a Coyle. The club is 4000 fans per fortnight away from breaking even so we are having to make better offers to away fans than home ones so we need PL football sooner rather than later. If we had owners we could trust then we’d have a manager and board that were much more accountable. As it is, things are finely balanced. Relegation would be a disaster but some would shrug and say “Wigan did it twice so can we”.
