  1. Someone will be looking over the small print. He looks like a player weighed down by expectation at the minute. I don’t think being an impact sub suits him as he is immediately under pressure. He needs a few goes at starting and being allowed to feel his way into a game. He doesn’t seem particularly quick or strong and a point blank header today’s didn’t even force a save from the keeper. It came at him quickly but this is what £6m or £7m brings with it. You need to be better than average. I couldn’t see a goal coming from anywhere tonight and Armstrong looks to be struggling too. The big disappointment tonight was Dack. I’d hate to call us a one man team but when Dack doesnt perform we look like a team with plenty of effort but no end product. Rothwell is about the next best option and Mowbray won’t play him. Labore et Labore. We were beaten by a better drilled, stronger, fitter side.
  2. Rothwell and he’s only been on the pitch 5 minutes. Mowbray doesn’t know his best team - or is trying to keep everyone happy.
  3. It’s looking like 3-4-1-2 since Rothwell came on. Sheffield United are just better than us tonight I’m afraid. Fitter, sharper, hungrier. O’Connell is a beast btw. Did he really go on a free?
  4. Discussing streams is banned on here. Maybe you should take that kind of enquiry over to Facebook...
  5. Another fussy ref. He’s itching to get his cards out.
  6. They should have a mini 7-a-side game at the BRIC for a bonus point in the event of a draw.
  7. Another couple of twists... Anyone lapsed ST holder been offered a free match ticket yet? Seems this is happening. Also, there are several groups of British asians in the family stand tonight. (Groups of 10+ in each). Don’t get me wrong, great news that we are gaining interest from the Muslim community BUT are we giving away tickets or offering discounts, or just marketing. It’d be interesting to know. On the face of it, it’s pretty successful. Just need to build on it.
  8. Not sure Smallwood and Evans are the answer - unless the question in Mowbray’s mind is Championship survival. Can’t help but feel we have the personnel to be aiming a little higher than that though. Last time I thought like that we had Rhodes, Gestede, King Cairney, Dunn, Duffy (spit), good Conway, Evans, and Olsson. We were a gk, cb and cm away from promotion. We have the players for the play-offs, we need to build up some momentum.
  9. Mark King would give this one a thumbs down...
  10. Chanting; a plane; a chicken; a king fu bodyguard; an unspiked drink; pissed up Allardyce-gate; fan meetings; trips to Pune; action groups; countless marches; “Shebby Bloody Singh”; a rap song; yellow scarves; fighting injunctions; LT headlines; polls; #hashtags; podcasts. And all we needed was a cabbage. A bloody cabbage. Least we know for next time. ??‍♂️
  11. It’s just a case of milking the away faithful. Those prepared to travel that distance on a Tuesday night will be a pretty static number regardless of price so just shake them down for every penny is the mantra. What I don’t get is why Rovers don’t do similar whilst keeping the home fans happy. With the BBE Upper shut it’s a unique opportunity to charge what they like for away fans in the DE Upper. Yet our pricing and approach seems to be about maximising away numbers whilst putting a glass ceiling home support. To then have the likes of Mowbray come out with comments suggesting he is disappointed with the home fan numbers is frankly insulting our intelligence. Especially when he has bought players in the window who he puts lower in the pecking order than last season’s squad - whilst we continue to draw games at home. The recipe isn’t quite right somehow.
  12. It was a point about the price point for walk-ons in general. The surcharge merely adds insult to injury. But out of interest how were you hoping I would have access to sales figures at those times? Do I need to canvass next to the ticket office window with a clipboard to have an opinion? I must remember to ask that level of justification with your posts.
  13. If we were losing rather than drawing those comments wound seem pretty desperate. As it is it’s just newspaper filler.
  14. Walk-ons are put off by the price. It’s that simple. I might pay up to £25 for a decent PL cup match opponent. I’m not paying £25 for a Championship game. If I was to not buy a season ticket I would probably simply stop going altogether. The club (Waggott) have got this one wrong and they have now artificially limited our attendance.
  15. Wish we were fighting them for supporters. Looking at prices they all seem to be fighting to keep walk-ons away.
  16. After 11 games we have as many home draws as we had in the whole of last season. Its hard to gauge whether that’s a tougher division, bad game planning, individual mistakes, or bad luck. We do have better players this time out and the teams we have faced haven’t been as tough as I was expecting. We are about where we would have hoped to be by this stage of the season but it feels like we have underachieved given the circumstances of some of the points dropped. It’s a very tight division after 10 games - 2 wins off the top and 3 defeats off the bottom three. A single point off the play-offs. We are holding our own but could be up there at the top. Once again yesterday, we looked good when let off the leash but it appears the preference is to play with a narrow midfield and look to attack through the full backs getting forward - along with the slightly maverick Reed. I’m not sure if him and Bennett swapping wings partway through the first half was a deliberate tactic or Mowbray trying to calm his anxiety. We could look back on this season as being glad to stay up or disappointed not to have made the play-offs. A little like 2013/14.
  17. I agree. A great ST promotion on the back of promotion - with them on sale by the last game of the season - was the opportunity to get the footfall back. Waggott seems to be of a mind to make as much money as possible out of every fan transaction and focus on advertising. On the face of it he’s trying to increase the value of a season ticket by making matches only accessible to locals who by one. Will this pay off? Not sure. Blackburners don’t like to feel coerced into anything. I guess it depends on the football. Turning home draws into wins might help if that’s Waggott plan. One thing I do know, those stupid vaping ads have made us a laughing stock. But that’s the preference rather than making money out of rakes of empty seats and improving the atmosphere.
  18. There’s a still after that photo where they are nowhere near each other. Pretty pathetic, and a sign of guilt, that Lolley felt the need to post that. Football has gone to the dogs. It’s not a sport anymore it’s a soap opera.
  19. The more I watch that clip the more I think that if all of those Forest fans were in the top tier the ref doesn’t give that one.
  20. Two points dropped for me. We looked such a better proposition when Downing went off for Armstrong. We have the players to hurt teams yet we only give them 25-30 minutes at the back end of the game. Not sure about the timing of the Rothwell change and I couldn’t believe that Nyambe waited until after the Downing change to go down. Wonder how long he is out for. On the plus side, Rodwell looked pretty assured there at the back. Settled Lenihan down to an extent too. 4 penalties conceded in the last 3 games though shows just how difficult we are finding dealing with opposition strikers. We ain’t in League One any more Toto. By the end of the season we need to be seeing a bit more of Reed and Rodwell in the centre with only one of Evans or Smallwood, not both.
  21. Against the run of play.
  22. From where we are sat it looked like he pulled him down. He keeps putting his arms round players. Forwards will take advantage of that and refs will give them. I think he needs a leader next to him. Downing is looking even worse at present though.
  23. Was that Lenihan again??
  24. Injure Hope somebody else - injures Smallwood in training? Whilst I think Mowbray is treating Rothwell shabbily (as he did Nuttall MkI) I’m more concerned that we have such inadequate cover at cb. Downing wasn’t good enough in L1. At least we can look forward to the right to left ball over the top [being cleared easily by the opposition]. It’s so clichéd that it would actually make a good drinking game.
