It does seem as though when we have ready made excuses (this time “covid symptoms”) the players (and manager) allow it to be self-fulfilling. Why the F is Gallagher playing on the left wing? It’s like effing Groundhog Day all over again.
-
Did Warren Lucy just inadvertently blame Mowbray for that? (Pointing out conceding again after substitutions)

Urgh

We seem to have gone back to the Bowyer days of having every single player back to defend a corner. Gives teams two goes instead of one.

OMG!!

I sometimes find trying to click on “Watch now” again sometimes kick starts it.

Other football league 2020/21 season

Couldn’t disagree more Philip. Rovers are a football club first and a business second. THIS is exactly the problem with what is happening today. They need to make money by running a successful football club, not think of the football as an add-on. -
Pears did well there

Looking at the table, only 9 games in but we are getting sucked into the relegation places. Five defeats out of nine puts us joint-second-worst in the Championship. Need to get back into this game. Coventry last night and Derby so far today showing that top six opposition shouldn’t automatically be a free pass defeat.

Wow! Didn’t know that. How many games into the season were they? Desperate stuff. TV is saving the version of football that we currently have but it isn’t the same competition. Bugger 0-1.

About the weakest I can recall. First XI isn’t much better. Wonder if a national lockdown will include halting football again?
-
Just one out. Evans preferred over Buckley. Would be interesting to know if these players do actually have COVID-19 or if they just have cold symptoms. How can we expect to get through this season if we aren’t testing players regularly enough to rule it out? What if we end up relegated for the sake of the cost of a few tests...

Great bit of trivia that!

Other football league 2020/21 season

Very worrying if true. If the things we’ve seen from him are the result of him working around the clock he needs to take a step back (or go and do something else) because it’s affecting his ability to be innovative. Creating price increases and then blaming fans isn’t very imaginative, I’d go as far as to say that, despite the rhetoric that Venkys are here for the long haul, everything Waggott does smacks of short term thinking. Where are the initiatives to bring in future generations of Rovers fans? It seems as though it has been decided that PL promotion will see the ground fill up again (although not at Waggott’s prices) so there is no point in trying to do anything else. Meanwhile, Burnley hoovered up the floating PL fans - and the longer the situation stays as it is the more likely they will take the next generation - while Stanley are being innovative and investing in young fans (who will bring parents and siblings). If Burnley are relegated this season they will see an exodus of the plastics element of the fanbase. Where will they go? Right now, with BCD, it will be far easier to switch to a popular PL team (TV football isn’t tribal but global) but when they can (and have to as 3pm TV football is turned off ??) there is nobody they can easily migrate to. Do we have a feel-good price reduction across the board and a “Come Home” campaign ready to go for those Greater Blackburn football fans? Or is he just working around the clock to find cheaper suppliers and make 50p more on each pie sold? -
Funny isn’t it. We don’t seem to sell players when they get to their ‘sweet spot’ (enough of a contract left to enable a sale but having a replacement lined up so as not to have a hole in the squad). Our players either leave on a free or are loaned out and/or paid off. Raya is the exception where he allegedly ask to leave, and Mowbray doesn’t like unhappy players around the place. Both Lenihan and Dack were injured on the precipice of a move. Have we actually sold anyone else? Bad contract management and bad luck are a bad combination.

Something to pin up on the dressing room wall. Sounds like they are fearful of their own ability to counter a passing game.

I guess you really are the kind of poster I thought you were. Don’t be confused if I don’t reply to any more posts.

Correct.

Completely agree.

Playing Gallagher out wide has been the ruining of him.

Probably working from home in fairness. I’d just like to see the fruits of their labours actually deliver some benefit to the fans apart from the latest slogan to make “we won’t/can’t do anything so fans have to pay more and it’s really not our fault” more palatable. Meanwhile a bloke worth a fraction of the wealth of the Raos is busy thinking of ways to grow the fanbase. -

On their arses financially and still looking to grow their support. Meanwhile we have a pay-up-or-shut-up policy. -
Football doesn’t really exist. We have a fake version that we all supposed to just pay for and pretend it’s the same. While losing individual players and matches to the virus that caused this mess in the first place. The end to last season was a farce and this season is shaping up the same way. How can it be a fair competition if we have to leave out players because of symptoms. Assuming of course this isn’t Mowbray’s latest smokescreen for his tombola machine. By the way, you do appreciate that we are likely to enter a second lockdown - almost certainly in the North West - because things started up again too soon? Last season should have been scrapped for sure but money talked.
-
Makes it a bit lot of a farce. Shouldn’t have restarted this season. But at least the PL clubs get their TV money.

Good to see you back Chadster.
