I don’t see how you can have one set of home fans at a ground and then no fans in the reverse fixture. It has to be all or nothing. It’s like only using VAR for one team. The other question I have is what is the magic number of fans when iFollow is turned off? If Rovers have 2500 ST holders and are allowed 2000 into Ewood can the other 500 use iFollow? And what about virtual walk-ons? That’s £8 they wouldn’t be getting and the club would financially be worse off.

I think the reason I’m not a Harvey fan and prefer Rothwell or Dolan is that he’s too good for this team. He can play an absolutely blinding pass which cuts right through a defence but it relies on another Rovers player being on the same wavelength. Often there is nothing at the end of it - even if it looks good. Rothwell, or Dolan, but Rothwell in particular will run at players with the ball and drive us forward 20 or 30 yards. Moving us further up the pitch. Nice problem to have though. -

Definitely. Gallagher should have got across his man and away from him bearing down on goal. Instead he made it his aim to get into that box and “feel the contact”. -

iFollow need to stop displaying that effing big blue anti piracy box or I think I’ll just stop buying. Takes up half the screen and won’t actually prevent anyone pirating!! -

A lot of families go to Ewood. You only need one pass. You could easily treble any iFollow figures to get an idea of bums on seats. Sadly Waggott has never seemed to care about bums on seats as much as sums on spreadsheets.

Is this “taking the knee” thing going to carry on indefinitely? -

Thank goodness for that. Nearly had a heart attack when I saw Bennett on the Sky app! That’s about as strong a side as we can put out even with everyone fit. It’s looking like Rothwell will be the player to make way once Dack is fit. -
https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/transfer-news/blackburn-rovers-armstrong-waggott-newcastle-19304432 Lancs Live but with direct quotes from Waggott. Basically a ‘come and get me’ for Arma to Leeds for £30m. On the one hand says Venkys wouldn't push a sale but one the other that it would cover operating losses - if he, Mowbray and Venus decided.
-
Disgusting. That “fan” hasn’t got a clue what he/she is talking about. Utterly utterly clueless. Stockholm syndrome taken to the extreme. Thank Venkys? What for? Not finishing the club off completely? No Rovers fan should ever get down on their knees for these owners (or any owners). There is no need in any case. Thanks to these arrogant fools our once proud club has already been brought to its knees. ”Rich” indeed.

Genuinely thought you meant Mowbray had caught covid there for a second.

Nice to hear from you Bryan. It would certainly be interesting to list their achievements over the last decade. Second in L1, even if that meant promotion, doesn’t quite feel like an achievement considering they bought a PL club. Depending on how long they stick with the current set up it might be looked back on as the ‘dead cat bounce’! Let’s hope not!

I agree that it’s pretty unhelpful to keep picking at this scab. I can’t believe it’s been 10 years of this lot being here though. There’s hardly a decade of highlights to look back on. That said, I do get quite upset at the idea that the efforts of Glen et al, and the few hundred protesters, are somehow responsible for a fractured fanbase. Not enough people would stand against Kean, let alone put pressure on Venkys, and the vast majority did nothing. Should this minority have simply stood with the majority and supported Kean and what he was doing? Would that have helped? Would that have avoided the fanbase being fractured? And would the fanbase not being fractured have kept us up? Because it was ultimately relegation that halved the fanbase (plastics who were only here to watch PL football on the cheap jumping ship), and it was Venkys sticking by their nice man thereafter that made the silent protesters walk away, most of them never to return. (The fact they didn’t help with protests is the most unforgivable part). Once the destruction began, a fractured fanbase was inevitable. I really really wish there had been a sizeable majority who would have fought for the club. We could have made a huge statement walking from the town hall to Ewood. It really was very very little to ask of fans to show their displeasure on a large scale. 10,000 fans walking down Bolton Road would have been a statement but ended up being about 300, with major apathy and another 300 milling around the ground in the “fanzone”. It would have made a difference. Instead it handed Kean the opportunity to call us “the 1%” and say that 99% of fans were behind him and could “see what he was trying to do”. The irony being that they absolutely couldn’t - and didn’t want to. It was too little too late, but when Ewood finally turned (in a big way) at the end of the Wigan game when we were relegated, that was the moment there should have been a change. It didn’t happen. That was when it was confirmed that Venkys valued Kean more than the fans. Naive my arse. It was pure arrogance and petulance from the children of a rich entrepreneur (sounds familiar) - ‘who do these ungrateful people think they are to question us?’ The offspring off rich people should never be asked to maintain their parent’s passion unless they absolutely share that passion - especially where football clubs and their communities are at stake.

Championship Season 2020 - 2021

There are some poor teams down there so he has a chance of winning a five team league by 7 points. They already looked to be on the up, doing no worse than Rotherham and Forest who are currently clear of the bottom three. A different voice might help I suppose. I guess we’ll see. -

I think Pulis is a busted flush. -
“Bin the Mag tramp” sums up exactly why they don’t like him. That said, his legs have long gone. Needs to be used as a back-to-goal target man and nothing else.
-
Simply put, no. And that’s before taking into account injuries.

The world we live in I’m afraid. These same people also change the meaning of words from time to time in order to create faux offence.

Can we just scrap this year and have another go at 2020 on 1st Jan. What an absolutely shit year all ends up.

Brereton’s problem has always been his price tag. But it has also been the making of him. If Mowbray hadn’t paid all that cash and he had come through the academy he wouldn’t be getting a look in. He has a long way to go. I’m still not convinced he has the mentality for it.
-
“Lewis Holtby phoned me at 11.15 on Friday night telling me that he’d got a 38.6 temperature,” Mowbray said. Yet he was negative for the virus. This is what the current approach is doing to the country. Either test players regularly and trust the testing process or knock the season on the head. Having one symptom, which could be for a myriad of things, and it ruling players out is a nonsense.
