Do we really need him? Sounds like a good player but we've got Buckley and the return of Dack. I'd prefer a more combative midfielder as we don't have many of those. They give the flair players the platform to show their talents.

Last night proves what we already knew, we have a good first 11 but not a very good squad. Edun is a poor lb, JRC is massively unfit and can't even run at the moment, Buckley is not very good in a deeper role, and Gallagher is just hopeless. I'd certainly say central midfield reinforcements are needed after last night. A player who can be an understudy to Travis.

I suppose your luck runs out eventually. A blip or the start of a bad run? Wrong team selection tonight and poor refereeing.

If we get a couple of more attacking players in, I wouldn't totally surprised to see a deadline day loan move for Dolan. He's got lots of talent but he's very raw still. I don't think he's ready for first team football at a club challenging for promotion. Hedges to replace Dolan, Healey to replace Armstrong. But 26 year olds from the Scottish league and the second division of French football don't thrill me with confidence.

Fulham are by far the best team and should finish top. A lot of prem league quality.

A poor performance but 3 points. What a difference a solid defence makes. I never felt they would score even with 10 men. Aimless balls into the box, hoping for a lucky bounce. Where did it go wrong for Cardiff. On a side note, will we see Nymabe in a Rovers shirt again? I think he'll be gone by Jan 31st. All about Zeefuik now who I think will be a step up (even though I think Nymabe is a very good player).

40% I'd imagine. I think we have to be creative with deals as we can't afford to pay a big lump sum up front. Small price to pay for luring one of Tottenham's best young players on a permanent deal. Their fans think he should be in the first team squad. Huge coup.

So Zeefuik looks like a done deal and a good start to the window. Loan with a fee already agreed if he does well according to some reports. He's not coming here to sit on the bench so I fully expect to see Nyambe leave for £2-3m. Fair play to him if he can get a prem move and double his wages. I think Hedges will come here in Jan too. Still think Burke will come here towards the end of the window. A CM loan to replace Clarkson, and a loan attacking winger to replace Poveda will prob be on the cards. I think we'll have a busy window.

I completely agree. Although I also think it's way too early to be thinking about being in the prem next season, the odds are still stacked against us. Let's hope we're having this debate in the summer though 🙂 For what it's worth, I don't think the current crop of players would be anywhere near being competitive in the Premier League. I'd still take promotion though!

Would be a very shrewd signing if true. Has a huge amount of talent but he's lost his way. It's not so long ago he went for big money and he's still only young. Plus out of contract in the summer too so Good potential for a permanent deal if he does well. We're not in the market for players who are at the top of their game, that's unrealistic. We need to find talent and "polish them up" as TM would say.

I actually think Rankin-Costello is a better fit for the right wing back role than Nyambe. It's a more attacking role he's being asked to do now whereas his strength is defending. If we were to lose any of the out of contract players then he'd be the only one I think we could get away with without impacting the team hugely. We simply cannot lose Lenihan or Rothwell this window though.

A lot of our fans would have said that about Brereton 12-18 months ago...

We need different options. A lot of teams will come to Ewood and put 11 men behind the ball.

Better than Dolan and Gally imo.

If we can get Maja and Burke in, back up CM and RB cover, and keep all of our players then we'll have had a very good window. Burke and Maja could give us that extra quality to maintain our promotion push.

Our club is a business to Venky's, they'll take 25m for Ben in Jan if a bid arrives. The better thing to do without doubt would be to keep him until the summer and then sell if we don't go up. The only way Venkys will get any ounce of money back from this club is by getting promoted but I don't think they're smart enough to realise that. They'll be thinking about the Dack situation and losing out on 15-20m that we'd have inevitably got for him if he hadn't got badly injured. They'll be thinking what if Ben gets badly injured like Dacky did and we miss out on another 20m. From the players point of view, would any of us turn down a move to a prem club if the opportunity arose? We have to hope a big bid doesn't come in. Sadly I think there are a lot of prem clubs who desperately need a striker and they will make an offer we can't refuse.
