  1. When is Williams back? We need him for the next game. I believe it’s only a one game ban for Lenihan he got a red for denying a goal scoring opportunity rather than through dangerous play.
  2. Playing so well and then the game changes on its head in an instant. Buckley at right back is something I never thought I’d see, and neither did I want to see it. Needless to say I’d be delighted with a point. We had a lot of luck with the decisions against Millwall but not today.
  3. I wouldn't be surprised if Johnson and Holtbh are on the bench for this one. Johnson was complaining of a sore back before the game in midweek and Holtby looked quite jaded. Trybull and Downing may come in I reckon. Then again, I may well be totally wrong.
  4. Just watched the highlights too. How has the ref not given that penalty against Lenihan at the end. The one in the first half was blatant too. Thankfully no VAR!
  5. Poor performance and a snooze fest...but a last minute goal and three points. Love it! You can get away with playing poorly when you have a top quality striker. Play like that against Brentford and we'll get well beaten, but let's enjoy this win before worrying about that.
  6. I think it’s obvious from our line up that TM doesn’t expect Millwall to do much attacking tonight. I think they will have 11 men behind the ball and try and nick a goal from a set piece. I think he’s picked Elliot over Rothwell because he’s more likely to play a killer pass.
  7. Neither looked badly injured. I think it's just a case of taking zero risks with players at the moment as there's a long season ahead.
  8. Poor performance but very promising that we have the quality to play poorly and still win. What a goal from Gallagher. Kaminski man of the match. I'm still not sure what Trybull offers, Johnson offered so much more when he came on.
  9. I think there being no crowd has hugely helped Brereton. It is way less pressure without fans in the stadium. I think the majority of fans were very supportive of him but I'm sure he could sense the frustration everytime he got the ball and mis-controlled it or gave it away (which was pretty much every time he was on the ball!). His rise over the past 6 months has been incredible. We'll struggle to keep hold of him in the summer at this rate. In fact, the whole of our front three prob won't be here next season if we don't get promoted.
  10. Fantastic win. I didn't fancy our chances before the match but it was quite clear in the opening 10 mins that we're a far superior outfit to Preston this season. I doubt we will get an easier game all season. They just gave up after we scored our second goal. Wharton, Douglas, Holtby and Brereton were the pick of the bunch for me. Gallagher produced the key moment of the match which justified the decision to start him.
  11. Wharton has been incredible so far
  12. That's true, they are harder to break down but they are worse in possession than Wycombe I reckon. I can see why they've struggled for goals.
  13. Are Preston even worse than Wycombe? They're abysmal
  14. Looks like they have a few first teamers missing and a pretty weak bench. A big opportunity for us.
  15. Not hugely confident about this one. We have been poor in evening games so far this season, I wasn't impressed by our performance at the weekend, and Preston always seem to get the better of us. I'm pleased they got their first home win at the weekend as you just know they'd break that duck against us otherwise. I still feel we're a bit of a soft touch and too nice to play against.
  16. We were poor today so not a bad point in that respect. However, we’ve now played 12 games and are sitting firmly in mid table and 7 points off the play offs. That’s very poor, especially when we have the top scorer in the league.
  17. Good line up. Good to see Douglas back in the team. Not heard of many of their players and not seen them play this season so I'm not sure what to expect from them. Interesting to see Ryan Tunnicliffe on the bench. His stock has fallen dramatically.
  18. Kaminski is in the house! That's a big boost to our chances of winning today..
  19. Much needed and much deserved win. What a difference Rothwell, Johnson, Kaminski make to this team. It also obviously goes without saying how important Armstrong is to us. I said before the two games this week that 4 points would be a good return and that's what we got. As Phillip said above, we're not too badly positioned in the table and the gap could have been a lot worse. Hopefully we can now get the majority of our players back and push on. Rothwell was exceptional today, Johnson made a big difference, JRC had one of his best games, and Breo continues to establish himself as one of the most important cogs in our team. Wharton looks like he's improved a lot. He's a good old fashioned defender who will head and kick anything that comes his way. His distribution is poor but overall I was impressed. Elliot didn't do a lot but he's got that little bit of magic that can change a game. What a ball for the crucial second goal. A special talent. I'm going to enjoy an international break for once!
  20. Much improved line up. No excuses today.
  21. I have a feeling Armstrong will be back tomorrow and will score. Despite our high number of absentees, we should have enough to win this one. I don’t rate QPR at all and think they’ll be bottom 8 come the end of the season.
  22. Trybull now injured too and William's definitely out of the game at the weekend. You really can't make it up. There is no question that our huge injury list is impacting our results. I don't think anyone in the division is dealing with as many absentees as we are at the moment. Delighted with the 0-0 tonight, but I think that in itself sums up how terrible we've been lately. If we have Arma and Kaminski back at the weekend, and a slightly fitter Rothwell, we could get a win.
  23. That was horrible to watch but a good result in the end. No idea how we took anything from that game. I said before the game I'd snap your hand off for four points from the next two games. Pears made some good saves, Wharton was very good when he came on, and Evans is much better in a central role. Del injured - you couldn't make it up.
  24. Diabolical first half. Well done to the back 4, they have been outstanding with zero protection from the midfield. Rothwell has to come on at half time. Have we won a second ball yet?
  25. Surely a change of shape with Holtby and Trybull sitting and Elliot in the “Dack role”
