  1. I do agree that it’s a results business and if we’re still playing well and not getting results in another half a dozen games I will be concerned, but I think it’s too early to scrutinise results after 6 games. I remember our first season in this division after relegation and we were picking up good early results despite poor performances, but the poor performances caught up with us in the end and we ended up nearly being relegated. Look at last year, Charlton made a storming start but ended up being relegated. This fixture list can also skew the true levels of different teams - we’ve played two newly relegated teams away from home and also played 2 of the top 7 from last season. Even Derby away is not an easy fixture at all. Add to the mix that we’ve not even been able to get our best team on the pitch yet and we’ve not done too badly. Time for Douglas and Trybull to come into the team, and bring Williams back into the left side of the defence to give us more balance. A midfield three of Holtby, Johnson, and Evans is way too pedestrian to be successful. Rothwell, Trybull, and Holtby would give us what we need in there.
  2. I think that reflects the nature of this league. With games happening thick and fast, you can be sitting pretty one minute and then 3 games later you can plummet down the league. Conversely, 3 good results in a week and things look very rosy.
  3. Incredibly tough game and one I expected to lose. They are my tip to win the league. Elliot looked very good in flashes, Trybull looked lively and made some lovely cross field passes, Holtby was class throughout, and Breo caused them problems. Our left side was so weak. Evans looks well off the pace and Bell has never been good enough. The last three games have been incredibly frustrating but there's enough there to suggest we're going to have a good season. Two of the toughest away games now out of the way in Watford and Bournemouth. Forest and Cardiff will be promotion contenders too so we've had a tough set of fixtures to start with.
  4. Evans and Johnson are too pedestrian to play together.
  5. Bring on Trybull and Douglas and get them up to speed for the next game.
  6. How we’re losing and they still have 11 men on the pitch, I’ll never know. We’ve played incredibly well but it looks a bit too easy for them to get in behind our back 4. Great goal from Breo. I had assumed it had hit the side netting until the players started celebrating!
  7. One of the toughest games of the season tonight. I’d take a draw right now, but sadly I think we’ll lose.
  8. I think Elliot will start tonight. We’ll need a bit of magic to breakdown their defence and he’s certainly got the ability to produce a bit of magic. No chance Buckley will play after his display at the weekend.
  9. Boring game. Poor result. Fluke goal. New players are here. We move on.
  10. Surprised to see Fisher go permanently but he looked well off it in pre-season.
  11. Game changing window. Harvey Elliot - the coup of the day. Didn't expect that one at the start of the day. Overall, I'd say us and Forest have been the biggest winners in this window and look very strong. Forest have made some cracking signings. Brentford have probably been the biggest losers.
  12. I have no idea what the first choice 11 will be when everyone is fit. That's a great sign.
  13. Harvey will play. No way Liverpool would have let him come here without some kind of verbal promise that Harvey will get game time, especially as they had no intention of letting him go until TM put up a strong case. Him and Dolan will compete for the right attacking spot. The signings today probably spell the end for Davenport and Chapman.
  14. Not bad for a window where at the beginning of it we were told (as per every window) there was no money to spend.
  15. What a day. No doubt we’ve got one of the best squads in the league now. Forget a top 6 push, we should be pushing for top 2. I don’t think that’s an exaggeration either.
  16. Versatile back up option. He won’t be on big wages this time around.
  17. Douglas, Trybull, and Pears all to come in before the deadline and Downing to re-join next week. Fantastic business all round. Quality options in every position.
  18. If we sign Douglas, which it looks like we will, this transfer window has to go down as one of these best we've had in a long time. The problem positions have been filled with quality, experienced players and we've added a couple of exciting young players. Anything lower than 6th place will be a disappointment this season.
  19. Tough game today, a draw was probably fair. Cardiff are a bunch of cloggers - but they're very good at what they do. We had one very good chance in each half but that was it. They created absolutely nothing apart from a fine save from Kaminiski in the first half from a Hoillet shot. Williams and Johnson were immense. They've been outstanding this season. Williams is unstoppable at the moment. Bell had one of his best games in a Rovers shirt. All of our best attacking players didn't get a look in really. Fair play to Cardiff on that. I've seen enough already to strongly suggest we should expect to finish in the top 6 this season. We are actually pretty good and the league is quite poor. It will be a failure if we dont. Our squad has come along way. There would have been no chance in the past of us competing against the better sides in this league with several of our best players missing - Dack, Lenihan, Travis. But now we're actually stronger than those teams even with those ilk of players missing.
  20. I think a back up GK is probably more pressing than a LB. If Kaminski gets injured then we are left with Fisher who is nowhere near ready for 1st team football. He would cost us so many points. Bell is shocking though, so we simply have to bring in a LB even if it is on loan. Personally I think TM is holding out for some money from the sale of King and possibly Raya. If that doesn't materialise, then I think he'll dip into the loan market.
  21. All the signs seemed to be positive with lots of well connected people saying a deal was done.
  22. I don't understand why no journo didn't directly ask the question after the game today "What happened to the one that was due to give us a decision on Friday".
  23. Fantastic performance today. I think 7 or 8 nil would have been a fairer reflection of the gulf between the two sides. Everyone was excellent, but Dolan was the pick of the bunch. He could potentially be the bargain signing of the summer in the whole of the league. Arma has become such a top player that you just expect him to score every game. Bradley Johnson and Rothwell also shone. Very promising but I have to say I'll be surprised if there's a worse team in the league that Wycombe.
  24. It's strange that TM himself said we were 24 hours away from getting an answer on a new signing...and then no mention of it all today.
