  1. Personally the thought of a statue of Jack sharing space with one of Mowbray fills me with horror.
  2. Not to contradict you at all but remember quite a few Rovers fans live in the south, helps particularly with mid-week games.
  3. I think anyone who stays in a managerial job for so long, with such dreadful results till now is truly a legend---like Dick Turpin!
  4. I think the answer to that is obvious and stated so any times. In a nutshell its the quality of the football and the money wasted on players who shouldn't have been here. Add tactics, tinkering, subs etc and he's been the complete package. That's his share of the blame accounted for. Can't deny things have been much better this season.
  5. We had impetus from that League 1 promotion but he dissipated it. Those next 2 seasons were diabolical. And if you don't agree---look at the attendances, fans have voted with their feet.
  6. Yep! Can't disagree with any of that. Its a thin line we tread though and heavily dependent on Kaminski being fit I'd suggest.
  7. No, not really. Just commenting on one of those triumphalist posts I can't stand. Always delighted when we win because I am a Rovers supporter from birth.
  8. Imagine what we could achieve if we had a good manager is another way of looking at it. For example was it a wise decision to pay good money to Boro for Pears? I fear we might be about to find out. We always said on here that the young lads we have should have figured over the old uns he kept picking.
  9. Can't he just run that down and go for nothing? Don't other clubs know that too? The answer is to give him a whopping pay rise in return for a clause in the new contract which allows him to go for a whopping fee with a % sell-on fee.
  10. But aren't we in the same position with Brereton as Posh are with Dembele? And we are unlikely to be able to demand much either.
  11. I do assume money is the issue and the club can't or won't offer the going rate. I've no proof of course before anyone asks.
  12. Yet its written in there! Bonkers!
  13. At last, its referred to as a bonus in the contract, its directly linked to us being relegated (twice!) but its not incentivising him for achieving relegation. OK---you have explained what it isn't for iyo, so I'm asking you what it is for?
  14. I think the issue is rather that you can't seem to blame the club for anything.
  15. Its referred to as a bonus in the contract isn't it? Or have I misremembered? I repeat, if it isn't what would you call it? Re the above, he sued the club for constructive dismissal and Venkys paid undisclosed compensation! You think he didn't get his "losses" back?!! Bloody stupid discussion this one!
  16. Its an addition to his ordinary pay, therefore its a bonus. If its not what would you call it?
  17. Didn't really know where to put this but Ian Battersby was on BBCs Today programme this morning. The interview was about the Tracey Crouch report on English football released today. However the interviewer congratulated him on "your team's" 4-0 win last night and he mentioned the possibility of the play-offs. On about 6.52 am. At least we know he's alive and kicking and still a Rovers supporter!
  18. Over-looking that he's rarely played in the last 2 years though. You couldn't rely on him.
  19. Fantastic for who? The clubs who will sign them? I really don't agree with you that Gallagher was money well spent by the way. Very notable in that list of your's----not one outfield defender! As for Ayala, he's great when he's fit but sadly that's not often enough By the way--we didn't pay a fee for Dolan did we?
  20. There is a trend of people saying that Mowbray's transfer dealings have been great now that Brereton has come good at last. No recognition of the fact that he was not what we needed at the time and that TM told us "defenders are coming" when they weren't. And we paid for it on both counts.
  21. All I can say is that you are a bloody genius!
  22. Big under-statement! I honestly thought we would be in the lower half of the table and looking nervously down at the clubs below us. Just need to keep the momentum going now. Key players going like Brereton (never thought I'd write that!) could threaten that.
  23. I repeat, why would there be any sort of bonus at all for taking the club down 2 divisions? Why is that clause in there? Do you believe any other manager had such a provision? Something dodgy here as there was about the whole takeover.
