  1. "replaced easily prob" by someone you had never heard of a few hours ago! How about "you don't know what you've got till its gone"?
  2. I'd prefer the three we've got. Very happy with them and who wouldn't be, given where we are in the table? See no point at all on going on this long, long journey with TM and when it finally clicks dismantling the team! I, like many on here, have been through the loss of numerous terrific players at Rovers over the years and never were they adequately replaced. For one reason or another, everything is clicking at the moment and its typical Rovers to throw it away at that exact point.
  3. I read somewhere that Brereton is on £6500 a week. He must know that he could st least triple that elsewhere in an instant.
  4. Well you're right in 2 respects--he definitely wants more money and none of us know the sums being discussed. This has been going on so long that I suspect they are far apart. Maybe its a bluff from one side or another but maybe Nyambe isn't being offered enough. I certainly don't believe he's been given a generous offer and has turned it down. That seems the least likely possibility to me. If we are being stingy it will bite us on the bum, this so promising team will be dismantled and we'll have to start all over again. That's a dire scenario.
  5. We're going out in the third round again aren't we?
  6. Possibly one of the reasons Nyambe won't re-sign?
  7. The team is playing winning football and the crowds are increasing. Who'd have thought?
  8. "and we'll have a top player" or someone else will...
  9. It doesn't seem that Tony wants rid of him though? Although he has seemed to pick on him somewhat in the past so you could be right. If you are, then its not a question of money at all, as we were led to believe?
  10. Not for me you don't. Anyone this obsessed does have an agenda it seems to me.
  11. We can't afford to give Nyambe the pay rise he seeks but we can afford to buy a better player (in your view) for a sizeable fee and give him a pay deal that will satisfy him? Righto!!!!
  12. He didn't send Van Hecke off---he easily could have.
  13. My daughter's partner is a Norwich supporter and we chat a lot about football. Increasingly, our conversations theses days are about "what's the point"? He was elated last season, as he has been before, only to be in misery this season, as he has before. Would we be the same if we went up? Its not like when we were last promoted is it?
  14. It exactly what you said! "As for BB - those who said he was “hopeless” contributed to his lack of confidence, in my opinion of course." How is that not blaming fans? Yet you have no problem in posting this "To expect a 19 year old to light up the team, in a new position, with fleeting appearances - was a ridiculous expectation." So ridiculous that nobody ever had it! You made it up!
  15. Deluded if they can't see farther than Dyche being the problem.
  16. That is just nonsense. Rovers fans to blame for Brereton's early form---behave yourself! To expect a £7M player (a lot at the time) to at least function in a Championship team was the minimum we could expect. He played fleetingly and in the wrong position because Mowbray had to justify the purchase.
  17. You're surely not suggesting we take a chance with another player who might come good in 3 years time are you? We want to get promoted this season don't we? All those things that people said about Brereton were true at the time. For almost 3 years he was hopeless. Now if the point of this club is to wallow in the bottom half of the Championship forever while paying large sums for players who can't contribute for a long time, then by all means sign another Brereton. Good for the owners---bugger all use to us. Clubs like UTD and Liverpool can operate this way but I'd suggest we can't. Not if we want the rest of the fans to depart.
  18. Don't forget to wear your Rovers shirt!
  19. Possibly the best outcome. Dolan could come in for Rothwell. He's always looked to me like a No 10. Not that I want to lose Rothwell though. At last we seem to have depth in the squad, the subs bench looks strong. Maybe that's another factor in our rise---competition for places.
  20. Reminds me of Roy Vernon. Looked about 8st dripping wet. Didn't hold hm back! Mind you Roy could shoot...
  21. I feel the same about Butterworth but he can't even get cameo role these days! I hope we don't lose him.
  22. They have negotiated and so far failed to make a deal. Meanwhile, according to your definition, the club encourages Hedges to screw his club.
