  1. We could pay them a realistic wage? Its the only thing that would keep them here. If we don't, then we can "look forward" to losing any players talented enough to attract attention from other clubs. If you answer is"we can't afford to pay them more because of FFP or dwindling attendances or whatever then we are on a slippery downward slope to relegation and oblivion. What's this journey we we've been on for nearly 5 years about then? Assemble a squad and sell it cheaply and back to the start we go?
  2. Who was the pilot Den?
  3. How many members does the Trust have? Is it 400? I hope that those who criticise them have actually joined up? C'mn--make a difference!
  4. Mowbray's job to get the balance right in the side though. Every team needs some "scrappers", the ones who go the extra mile and rev up the others. We've always had our share over the years but not now.
  5. Ten years ago I wrote that if nobody turned up at Ewood for a game, Kean would be gone tomorrow. We are not powerless. Renewed protest inside and out of the ground would help. We have the example of Blackpool. When fans who have followed Rovers for decades no longer care whether we win or lose, then the end is nigh--one way or another.
  6. Only when those bastards have gone.
  7. I notice TM asking rhetorically how much is Brereton worth "£30 million, £40 million"? Is this a reminder to the owners as to what a great job he's doing? Or is he simply drumming up business because, if he is worth anything like TM is claiming, there is no way we could pay him what he's worth.
  8. This will be an increasingly popular topic. After all, nostalgia is all we have left.
  9. It took a whole lot longer to get home, I remember that!
  10. The ad in the LT promoting the Centenary of King George's Hall has a pretty impressive list of acts who appeared there. Not too many venues could boast The Beatles and Marilyn Monroe!
  11. Yeah I agree with that. He went from WTF to "there is something in there". He's taken off like a rocket since the Chile thing started though.
  12. "Before yesterday" is hardly a basis to judge him. In the very next game he conceded 45 runs at virtually 11 an over! And this was one of the most abysmal Australian batting performances you will ever see. Under the cosh from the first ball till Mills came on. Have a look at his record in the big 2 T20 tournaments. In the IPL he played 5 games and conceded at the rate of 8.57 per over. In the BBL (played for 2 teams) 12 games and conceded 9.15 per over. In both competitions injury cut short his time in the competitions. It was never my intention to have a long discussion about Mills, I just don't rate him. So I will leave it there.
  13. Sorry Gav I have no idea what his best is. Whenever I've seen him its 15 to 20 an over. When he gets a wicket its usually a catch on the boundary that would have gone for 6. I think he lulls them into a true sense of security!
  14. Its a commonly held view Biz, for a start 8 people liked that post above! Welcome back anyway. Don't be like Rovers though , save something for the 2nd half!
  15. TBF though, this the the most "one half" team Rovers have ever produced or .at least that I can remember. We either sleep for the first half and then dominate the 2nd half without necessarily getting the result or we play really well the first half and then go back into our shells. Given our defence isn't brilliant it makes for hard, often nail-biting viewing. Why does it happen? Unless anyone can come up with a better explanation, its hard to look past selections, formations , tactics and subs.
  16. Apart from Mills. I know he got 2 wickets but he's a batsman's dream.
  17. If its working we should keep on doing it.
  18. Different team pickers every week in our case. Its the only explanation!
  19. Well your logic is impeccable but nobody trusts them. Why would you? All I want them to do is sell.
  20. My sentiments exactly. 11 years of utter misery. Premier League status just thrown away by a mixture of incompetence and dodgy dealing.
  21. I agree with you but I thought Burnley's top price was £580 or around that? That's the starting price at some Premier League clubs by the way! Another difference between us and Stanley is that they are a club close to their community and growing because of it. The exact opposite of us!
  22. Read that it takes over 20 years on the waiting list to be able to buy a Liverpool season ticket. Manure's wait list is 100,000! Quite a challenge for Venkys!
  23. Brilliant! Says it all , Literally falling apart.
  24. For goodness sake, it doesn't matter how much money you put in if it isn't spent wisely and you don't take responsibility for it? In the current situation they could put any amount in but it would be wasted like the rest has been. In any case most of the money they put in is to settle debt or rather interest on debt their practices created. Most of it is about accounting not football and merely has the effect of enabling the club to stumble form one crisis to the next.
