  1. Steve Bronski of Bronski Beat d aged 61.
  2. Since the Issa brothers own it---how about an Azda!
  3. Souness was great for a while until he was absolutely awful. I opened a bottle of champagne when Newcastle came in for him.We were going down without a whimper at that point. Which leads me to---of all the mangers we've ever had I'd choose Mark Hughes. Didn't have much to spend but boy did he know what to do with it. Loved his time with us.
  4. Their margins are wafer thin.
  5. Roy started the rot which saw us relegated. Wasted so much of Jack's money. A bloody disaster!
  6. C'mn---which is it?
  7. Which means you should always aim to throw it in quick.
  8. I was making this exact same comparison myself a couple of days ago. We were storming the old Div 1, scoring for fun. Wouldn't pay Pickering what he was clearly worth and sold him to Everton. Knocked the stuffing out of the side and we slid down to 6th. 2 years later we were relegated. 30 years till we got back into that position.
  9. Don't be bashful.Tell us what you're on about. Which? How? What?
  10. I just cannot see him as a manager in the Premier League. It would be hard to stay up anyway but TM as manager is a handicap too far for me. I'm way ahead of myself of course! Coincidence or not, the last year of his contract does seem to have got him moving. Not a good omen for a new contract, rolling one may well be the answer.
  11. Yes but you're not proving anything wth that. What's a low wage and what's a high wage are relative things. He could still be paid a high wage relative to his team-mates but a low wage for what he's worth now. We don't know. The question still remains, at that time in our development, could we have spent £7M better and the answer is "yes we could". To have him for all this time and get virtually nothing from him until what I suspect is his last season does not mean this was a good buy. Certainly not in football terms. Good for Venkys though.
  12. I've already said "No" to January. Beyond that it all depends on Brereton, assuming ,of course that Rovers have made him an appropriate pay offer.
  13. Sell him in January and it will knock the stuffing out of the team. We will instantly lose the momentum we've built up. This is the best chance we have ever had of promotion since Venkys relegated us. Surely we have to keep doing what we are doing?
  14. He was certainly written off when he had started a game.
  15. Its unrealistic in the view of many. Your disposable income tells you whether its scandalous or not. Probably represents 4 hours work for some.
  16. As others have said, if you want to maximise prices for a big away following like Preston, by all means do so but protect your own so as we get the biggest crowd possible to roar on the team. It can be done eg sell 3 tickets for any 3 home games which include this "blockbuster." Or have a membership/part season ticket scheme £ 15 per season allows you 30% off any 5 home games etc etc. Where there's a will, there's a way. Haven't heard from the Fans Forum for a while---isn't this their terrain? Have they got involved in this issue?
  17. On a day of joy for all Rovers fans you prefer to divide us into "fans" and "real fans". (I suppose real fans are those with a different view to you?) Well done!
  18. Might be the result?!
  19. Yes, had to believe now. I knew people who followed Rovers one Saturday and Burnley the next. Some had season tickets for both.
  20. No argument there Gav, my comments were directed at your list of rovers attendances!!
  21. Probably because Jack wouldn't buy the likes of Zinadine Zidan? He had plans for the next season, Jack didn't agree.
  22. Different times Gav. Attendances everywhere up since then. Poor stadiums, fan violence. Not seen as a family day out!
  23. He's a Liverpool icon really, Best to leave him with them imo.
  24. Personally the thought of a statue of Jack sharing space with one of Mowbray fills me with horror.
