  1. Good but we really need a deputation now or a letter to the owners etc. Good opportunity for the Club to benefit from 2 good appointments
  2. Fans Forum should be hammering this. Are they?
  3. The maddening thing about Gallagher is that often he has a poor touch but sometimes he's excellent!
  4. Roughly translated----when we sell Diaz the funds won't be available for transfers....?
  5. All I can say is you don't like him because you didn't discover him!🤪
  6. Read plenty on their fan sites so you're wrong there.
  7. Because they were very dumb! Their supporters were furious at the time.
  8. What a very salient point! If he goes to a top club and thrives we'll be told its easy with hindsight!!
  9. Harsh....very harsh! £3M? You'd be crushed in the rush.
  10. I think I've seen enough of Dolan to rate him highly. To sell him for £2-3M would be as stupid as it gets. people going on about his height should have seen Duggie play! But perhaps we were lucky that no-one tried Bryan up front in the middle! Dolan will thrive now that Mowbray has gone.
  11. There was also the Brockhall fiasco where Waggot was up to his elbows in it after being involved in similar stuff at Coventry. I could never trust him after that.
  12. Season ticket prices? Compared to our rivals? State of the stadium? Words come cheap.
  13. Let's not run his contract down eh?!!
  14. My son-in-law is a Canarys supporter. He really rates Cantwell from when he was playing for them. He fell out with the then manager and stopped trying so they off-loaded him to Bournemouth where he continued to do nothing. So there is an obvious risk but there is also a very capable player in there who could be rehabilitated in the same way that Bentley was. Presumably that's why we want him him loan at least initially. Worth a shot I think. He was valued at £11M at one time so we have to be careful here. No point getting him to the point where the fee is beyond us! Guess Broughton is instrumental in all this.
  15. I hate it when anyone criticises an aspect of the club and is then accused of negativity. Its possible to support the club while pointing out how things could be improved. Most of us have been doing that for years!
  16. I think that's been widely discussed hasn't it? Its worked out well in the end, we think, but no thanks to the usual suspects.
  17. Quite clear to me that Broughton delivered our new coach to the club as the club was still dithering and had already driven others off. List cut down to 3 and still buggering around. If Broughton hadn't intervened we would have had another last-minute disaster such as Coyle. You believe what you want, I believe that's the story.
  18. Somebody will come in for Pope surely? Genuine Premier league keeper that one. Cornet will go I'd guess. Since the owners seem only interested in money not football I'd say the outlook for Burnley is bleak.
  19. Its a daunting challenge for any manager. We go into the new season without Van Hecke, Lenihan, we'll probably lose Big Ben and Nyambe. Ayala?( Rarely fit anyway.) That's 4 of our very best players. We need 2 CB's, at least one central striker, 2 full-backs and additional cover in midfield. Ideally decent cover between the sticks as well. That would be a difficult job for a club whose owners were interested, never mind us. We're feeling optimistic because of what positivity the new management team are giving off but, in truth, they are only as good as their players.
  20. Home win against Villa where we came back from 2-1 down to win 3-2. Opening game of the season or very early. Lots of sunshine, big crowd----what's not to like? 2-1 win against Spurs at Ewood after being 1-0 down and outclassed for most of the game. Laughed from ear to ear. Great days. By the way tickets for the Villa game were £10!
  21. Difference between Souness and Sam? Souness was taking us down.
  22. And who cared what they thought about anything? Arsene Whinger would have banned tackling if he could. Arsenal---a team of southern soft gets---loved doing them over!
  23. I loved it! At home we invariably won----against the odds and we did it game after game. If he'd been given time to develop the side over way less than Mowbray had, we would have seen a different story. Sacking him was the worst decision we could have made. I instinctively knew we were doomed the day he went.
