  1. Disagree. That wasn't his only up-front involvement anyway.
  2. Well I don't want to lose Nyambe. I thought he was terrific yesterday and this line-up suits him fine. It was always said he looks good coming forward but "there's no end product". Not so yesterday, made the first goal for a start and had a stand-out game. Pay him!
  3. Rich Sharpe in the LT gets it---why can't you? This has to be seen as a real opportunity by everyone affiliated with the club, players, management, supporters and the owners. Simply put: this side cannot be broken up. At the very least Rovers must have this group of players still together, the ideal scenario would be to add some depth to it.
  4. And after a game like that, they'll be back!
  5. I never used the term "abysmal"---see how you ratcheted it up there? Secondly, you know no such thing. Very few players ,if any, left Rovers for issues over pay in Jack's time. That full-back who went to United and rarely played for them is the only one I can think of.
  6. But that's meaningless if we don't know what was offered!!!
  7. Rubbish ( or is that provocative too?) You can't run a football club like a bike shop. When opportunities come along you have to seize them. We have waited a long time to get as near to promotion as we are now. Why let it slip for what will be peanuts comparatively if we were promoted? If we allow several of our best players to leave because we wouldn't pay them what they believe they could earn elsewhere, it will prove conclusively to me that Venkys are not serious about this club regaining a place in the Premier League.
  8. You'd have to say though that we haven't managed this situation very well? Putting decisions off to the last possible minute is Venky style to a tee.
  9. Look its dead simple. When we were doing badly, atrociously even, people called for his head on a plate. And, let's face it, this wasn't over a short period of time that he was dreadful. Now we are doing well those same people have no reason to call for his immediate sacking have they? What's hard to follow there? I suspect that what you are really saying "why won't they all come on here and admit they got it wrong?" Then you can crow. some more. But they're not wrong, they criticised what they saw with their own eyes over a long period. For example last season, after a bright start was a disaster. They'd be wrong to call for his sacking now wouldn't they? But nobody is!! That's why they are quiet! When I say they I include me. I'm happy to enthuse about the success we are having. After all I've waited long enough!!
  10. Well here's something simple, sell those 4 in January and our promotion push will be halted in its tracks and the best group of players we've had in a decade will be dismantled. We'll be back where we started with lower crowds. Is that what you want?
  11. We spent all last season trying to learn "the possession game" and, after a good start, it led to one of the most boring and pointless(in both senses) seasons in our history with 2 wins in 17 at one point and relegation being a distinct possibility. Crowds dwindled and fans voted with their feet at season ticket renewal time, leading to the lowest crowds at Ewood since Jack took over. All pointed out at the time by plenty but not you. He deserved to be sacked at that point and I have no reservations about that. He has turned it around this season, a significant factor being the abandonment of the possession game he wasted all this season on. By way of illustration we won 4-0 and Birmingham had significantly more possession than we did! I'm glad he's turned it around but he should have woken up much earlier, just like he should have played some of the young lads earlier than he did. But he had to justify keeping on the older has-beens he'd lavished contracts on. So, yes I back him now, I want nothing to interrupt the run we are on. But if we are promoted, I'll think again. His record at top level is poor. "we was dismissed as idiots"---classic!
  12. We've waited 10 years to get back to this position, fans in love with the team again, pride in bucketfuls at what we are achieving. If the owners don't back us all the way this time, we have to conclude promotion isn't important to them. The reaction will be savage. Simply no point anymore.
  13. Is he warning us we won't get reinforcements in January or that, if we do, they will be replacements for the "stars" we have to sell? If they have 18 months left on their contracts, why not wait till summer? It seems simple to me but possibly not to Venkys. All they have to do is to keep this going for a few more months and they could get all their losses back in one go , or most of them. Sensible owners would back the manager in January to maximise our chances but that is apparently beyond them.
  14. This is a worry, always has to be one I'm afraid! https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/59713763
  15. Why can't it be us? Oh sorry, i get you---you mean compete with us! Yes--agree!
  16. And, for once, Boro did us a favour!
  17. I'm happy with my response thanks. No way did I think that beating Birmingham was beyond Biz's wildest dreams!!
  18. Agree with all that. At some point you ask yourself "is all this real?" last game against Bournemouth convinced me it is! Hope iIhaven't put the mockers on it!
  19. Why? We are in great form, they are not. We've just comfortably beaten Bournemouth away. What have we to fear?Just keep doing what we have been doing and the goals will come.
  20. Of course we can when they reward one lesser player and lose the valuable ones.
  21. and thanks for the blinkers you took from Ben's eyes I thought they were there for good so I never tried!
  22. Get £20M for Diaz and expend £1M on Twatt! Classic Venkys!
  23. My favourite Leonard song!!
