  1. Bloody hell, what an awful thought. If that does become the case, after all we've been through and we lose the players we've gradually got together, then that will be the end of a 60 year love affair for me.
  2. Absolutely no point whatsoever getting excited about the squad TM has assembled over 3 years or so if other clubs are going to take them for free. What the hell's going on here? Don't we want to progress?
  3. Difference between "very good" and "great" is quite big. No? I know Its your opinion but, in my opinion, you've got it wrong.
  4. He's never a great manager. That is way over the top.
  5. Are you saying we can't run and chew gum at the same time? Perfectly feasible to sort the contract extensions out while signing a couple of defenders---on loan or otherwise. I would have thought current problems make this a necessity.
  6. Prospect, TM's best value signing after Dack.
  7. You don't know that either. Its just your view.
  8. Because you believe it doesn't make it so. That's your opinion and its fair enough, but the part that irks is where you are astonished that others don't agree.
  9. I was at that game! Aged 3! Have no memory of it whatsoever but my Dad told me about it-----several times!
  10. I remember Langton smacking one in during the warm-up at the Darwen End. It hit a 6 or 7 year old kid flush in the face! Kids were sitting on little benches against the wall in those days. The kid was carried off by an ambulance man and he was definitely striking!
  11. Never a penalty in a million years! We got the benefit of bad refereeing last game, now its our turn to suffer. Seems the way in the Championship.
  12. Bit like their second then! Buckley a spectator.
  13. Have we got a plan for him going forward? He was bought from City, with great fanfare and almost immediately was in sure for months. Now he's apparently fit he seems to make the bench---the last 2 times with great aplomb. Will he now disappear for a few weeks or is he at last an integral part of the team? Agree about the goal by the way----great effort.
  14. Twice in fact, in successive years!! Only played 20 games in total in that competition yet won it twice. Absolutely remarkable.
  15. I haven't got anyone in mind Tyrone because there isn't anyone other than the youngsters and the January transfer window. This is a position best saved for experience rather than enthusiasm. However, we knew Ayala was injury-prone when we signed him and we knew there's always a potential sending off or booking around every time Lenihan plays. So, for me, its about prioritising the defence and building from the back which we don't do. We risk derailing what looks like a very promising season. If I were TM I'd be scouting for centre-back replacements in January and hoping we can limp through without too much damage till then.
  16. Lenihan and Wharton would be first choice for me. You?
  17. Ayala wasn't very convincing the other night though?
  18. We absolutely won't get £40M for Arma! He'd have to be scoring regularly in the top Division for that. He doesn't convert a big enough % of his chances and he wouldn't get anywhere near as many chances in the Premier League as he does now. And--he takes the penalties don't forget, of which we've had quite a few. He's a very good striker in the Championship in my opinion.
  19. No missed all that. Didn't live in Blackburn. Going to Seed and Gabbuts was a special treat!
  20. Its a big difference from our result and performance against Barnsley though isn't it? I'd say we are nearer to the likes of Barnsley and Millwall than we are to the likes of Bournemouth and Norwich though. Hope I'm wrong.
  21. Yes, exactly what I fear.
  22. Seed and Gabbuts! What a great shop that was. The other one was in Darwen St, not that far from the railway bridge. Used to go there often. Still have a fountain pen my Dad bought me from there one Saturday after Rovers game finished. I've come over all nostalgic! ?
