Surely we don't think its good enough to have a manager who won't take us down do we? He's had the financial backing Bowyer never had after all. 3 years and nothing better than stagnation? And given the financial position, worse than stagnation. We are in an utter mess and I would take the gamble with Johnson, at least on a trial basis.But a good hungry manager from the lower league might do alright as well. I can't see how it could be worse. A load of ageing players with no resale value, several hardly playing a game for us, can't defend, winning streak in combat with losing streak and losing streaks winning, this is absolute torture and I don't see how it can continue like this without very serious consequences for us. But the manager stays----right?

Well. that's a comfort! There's some really strange results today in the Championship, but, once again, we couldn't take any advantage of them. 2 points from the last twelve is relegation form no matter how other clubs' defences perform.

Experienced at what? Failing at other clubs after a couple of seasons and getting sacked? Creating teams who play boring and losing football? Continually changing the team and playing players out of position? Consistently neglecting defence? And, in our Club at least, pissing millions up against the wall?

So you've said---several times! If they are under contract then they leave when the club thinks it appropriate in the interests of the club ie when we have adequate replacements lined up. Why didn't this happen! Because Venkys didn't mind ruining any promotion chances we had! Other clubs don't just fold to players' demands eg Palace over Zaha.

We are in desperate straits. TM moans we have too many players and he'd like to get back to having a manageable squad. But who handed out contract extensions to players who aren't good enough? We've had several transfer windows under this manager and out of our defence (back 4 +keeper) 3 are loans! Moreover, he has too many players for some positions but virtually no decent back-up in defence and no width. We could have strengthened in the areas we needed to and be pushing for promotion now----for less than he has spent! Instead we will finish bottom half again ---at best. He's a disaster.

Well "yes" its just that you came up with this gem: "Why would the owners weaken our chances of promotion by selling any one who is key to our team?" I went back to show you its not been a barrier in the past.

I think its high time the owners did!
