Do you believe that selling Raya and getting a keeper ON LOAN who is no better was the right decision?
-
A lot of money spent for a Championship club and we're pretty much where we were when he joined us. That sums him up for me. Continuous drift. Never at any point have we seemed likely to even threaten Top 6.
-
Ha! Serves me right for jumping in!
-
How he has the goal to repeat that "defenders are coming" mantra, I do not know.
-
One of the most obvious features of this club over TM"s tenure is surely that we have spluttered to feeble defeats in the last few minutes----over and over again. The 2 recent examples you quote are so untypical of our performances. We have some good players but mismanaged so I think there is a good chance of relegation but its more likely that we will just about stay up. This is not progress and not what TM promised.

We beat the bottom club in the last few minutes. We were at home! We had 30+% possession--- at home. They had way more shots than we did. They've won one game all season, in September I think. Their goal difference is the worst in the division,-18! For God's sake, get some bloody perspective. Its fair enough to feel relief because we escaped. Its not a cause for dancing in the street is it?

There were plenty here just as daft.

That rule obviously doesn't apply to mid-fielders.
-
Yes, I concede that point. So he has.

As you say, criticism of him must be muted to some extent because we don't know what freedom he's had to spend that transfer money. If he did, he's an absolute disgrace and, if I were the owner, I'd have sacked him by now. I'd have sacked him on the basis of Brereton alone. If he didn't endorse those signings and has had to accept them anyway, then he is not the character that many people think he is. It is very odd that a craggy centre-half should publicly identify the defensive problems, do virtually nothing about them other than get rid of the keeper and sign one no better, and leave us so vulnerable to any team that crosses the halfway line. Like much re Venkys, it does not add up.

You're not wrong there!

If Tony goes-----we're having a party. There's a song in there somewhere!
-
We don't get a high work-rate though. Compare this team with any prepared by Hughes for example. We were in their face from kick-off and never let up.
-
It feels to me that we are barely hanging on to it as it is! Very high chance of relegation if TM stays much longer. Its not as if Johnson is clueless is it? The danger is that we 'll make a change when its too late and things will be worse.
-
My opinion too.

Ok fair enough but it does seem to me like he resigned because he was fed up of defending the indefensible. He goes on to express views totally similar to the ones that are commonly expressed on here. Also, I read the first 10-15 comments from readers following his article. I usually don't bother because they are generally of the "support the team FFS" but this time they aren't. They are the same views as are currently overwhelmingly expressed on here about the plight of the Club. Maybe, fans have finally woken up and realised that we are going nowhere with this manager.
-
I think you're over-egging it. Isn't this why he resigned? "However, I have grown sick of defending players only for them to show zero desire for the shirt."

Poor sod!

So true. Absolute vandalism. Many of the old buildings in Blackburn Town Centre were a joy to behold. I can see them now. Absolute vandalism. My favourite---the old Victorian Arcade, 2- tier shops, original tiled floor, one of the finest in the country. You don't know what you've lost till its gone and all that.

Cheer up Len! Promotion next season----to the Championship?

The patronising way he speaks about Nyambe and Chapman in recent interviews got up my nose as well. I can't see either being happy with that. Go Tony, before you do any more damage.
