Getting uncomfortably close at times though! Kean was in a class of his own I admit, even lied about his dog!
-
Further alarm bells ring when Mowbray talks about judging the team on performances! Kean used to do that, remember that stuff about how often we had the ball in their half or final third of the pitch? We didn't score or even get a shot on target of course and we invariably lost. Mowbray should judge the team on results. That's how he'll be judged.

As for Ainsworth, his obvious enthusiasm for the Club is an asset but is no guarantee of success. Dyche had no affinities with Burnley before they made the decision to sign him, as far as I'm aware. We're just desperate to get this club back on the up again, understandably so we clutch at straws. We need a trusted and proven manager or we need to pull one out of the hat. Venkys won't pay for the former and there is no-one at the club capable of picking the latter. So we go on, week after week, season after season. We really are cursed.

Shameful whatever way it happened.
-
Fair enough I'll take him!
-
Silly of them to sack him then?
-
We had a plan, we were pursuing him for 18 months! Then we abandoned it at the last minute in favour of spending £5M on Gallagher! We should have had Toisin and Bauer

January transfer window 2020

At the end of this season we will be left with the same problems we've had for several Transfer Windows, but they will have increased with the annual churn from loanees. I'm assuming we're still in this Division of course. -

I doubt that many League 2 clubs could afford his wages! It really is a disaster. -

More or less, we need what we needed in July, which is adequate comment on the summer's dealings in the transfer market. As for selling Brereton, how much do we think we'd get? If we could get anything at all. -
If only he could spend transfer funds wisely......?
-
Really? Honest? Staggered by that one. Makes his job easier then!
-
Well, we'll see eh? I'm crucial of TM for not playing Rothwell more, if you're not then fair enough. Who does improve under TM by the way?
-
Has the potential to be TM's most inspired signing after Dack (not that there's a lot of competition!). I think he would do very well at another Championship club. Dare I say---like Preston? If there is no-one sniffing about its because he doesn't play enough to be noticed but if things carry on like they are he'll make his own waves.Inevitable---use him or lose him Tony!
-
Rothwell's career is stagnating with us, surely he will want away? Bewldering really.
-
Tax issue I expect. Lumped them in together because Rovers lost money. Therefore overall tax bill came down.
-
It really is down to selection of manager isn't it? Under Venkys we've invariably taken the cheap option and ironically its cost the owners a fortune. One good decision and we'd be up now. Very few clubs spending on players like we have but sadly, the wrong players! Preston's example should open the owners' eyes if they were normal. Unfortunately.....

Ready for the promotion run-in!
-
Yep, no wins in 6 games are nothing unusual for us. Same old narrative really, we're the only club where results don't matter.
-
Ha! I think he's drifting! He's got plenty of form, not going to commit yet!
-
Chaddy repositioning himself after a win! Shock! After that staggeringly bad start to the season against Charlton, people were criticised for wanting the manager out after one game! It wasn't true of course, the first game was just a repeat of so many before it but its funny how one game we win can immediately change perceptions. I take the longer view myself. Whatever happened on Saturday, the manager's time is up!
-
That's one way of putting it. He certainly seemed to have been affected by that" assault" on him but .basically, Mowbray seemed to put the blame on him for our appalling defence rather than accepting any blame for himself. Raya was publicly singled out while others got off scot-free. No wonder Raya wanted to leave. Poor man management I thought, yet that's something Mowbray appears to pride himself on.
-
We could get a decent price for several of our players but I hope we don't, especially if we are not going to spend the money on players who improve the squad and/or replace them with loanees. I think the Raya transfer is a bad piece of business personally.
-
Let's hope you are right---"about the season of consolidation" I mean! That is clearly the best we can hope for.
-
Well if he's at the same level as Raya, why sell Raya? He was our player, Walton isn't! And Raya has a lot of improvement in him at his age.
