  1. Its not realistic with Lenihan's injury record.
  2. That's what I think---we are doing well despite him.
  3. We actually do NEED a real striker (ie one who can strike) but assuming funds are limited I agree the defence is the priority. we just don't have the resources to cover for iinjury/suspensions.
  4. In Douglas and England we have had 2 of the best players who have ever played the game. As you say, not bad for a small town club! You could throw Shearer in there of course but Duggie and Mike were our own.
  5. Yep, you'd have to go back as far as Mike England. Left us in 1966, so 53 years ago. Best centre-half I have ever seen and scored a hat-trick at the Turd! 79 last weekend.
  6. Rothwell? Graham? Travis? Bell and Benno dropped? No Chapman of course. Will he ever kick a ball for us again in the first team? Why did he buy him
  7. That's my take on it too. The possibility of relegation has receded at least for a fair while. I can't get rid of the haunting fear that we'll go on another run like last April though. Its a pessimism born out of decades of watching Rovers.
  8. This is happening with increasing frequency. Predicted by the fans years ago, now coming to a crunch. The football authorities have to bite the bullet or see the whole structure crumble. Its obvious, that while clubs individually make mistakes, the pie is not fairly sliced. Surely worse to come?
  9. That's true but it doesn't excuse the persistent refusal/inability to to build a defence long-term. Tosin/Lenihan key to our success----one is injury-prone, the other won't be here next season. Downing is 35.
  10. We could make it 4 on the trot, we could just as easily lose. That's really the whole point about TM's reign.
  11. Tell the Liverpool fans that!!
  12. Watched a replay of this game and wished I hadn't! As boring as many of ours. Loads of possession-type football ending up in cup-de-sacs. West Brom clearly the better team but so ordinary. Losing their way Proud Preston, on a bad run. We might over-take them at this rate!
  13. The only thing I care about re Hodgson is that he was absolute rubbish for us. He had the benefit of Jack's largesse and threw it away. Directly responsible for our relegation so soon after we were Champions. Doing a fantastic job at Palace I must admit.
  14. I'm taking a risk here but I honestly don't think he will bw a success for Derby as a player. His career at Manu was over well before he left for Everton and he was a very ordinary player there and not worth his place. We're a while on from that now. I can't judge him on what he did in the States because I don't follow it but I don't recall anything special. Derby are one of those clubs who are always looking for a spectacular way out, much better to focus on a settled and balanced team that works hard imo.
  15. I think we've all seen them given.
  16. Strikers are always the most expensive and I suspect Venkys might think they deserved some sort of return for the £12 M already committed on Gallagher/Brereton. I like Gallagher, he has at least something about him to make me think he can improve. I'd like to see the defence strengthened first, we won't have Toison next season. How can we hope for success if we are inadequate at full-back, keeper and centre-back? Laughable.
  17. Hey, welcome back Sergei! We must be winning again!!
  18. Watching Sky 2 minute highlights it looks like we were under the cosh for the entire game and were lucky!
  19. Less of that please!
  20. So Gallagher's earning almost 3 X Dack and Dack has had a seemingly endless run of reviews? And is our best player. get a new agent Brad! I doubt if our wage bill is near £14M either. If it is we should be way higher up that league than we are. What's Burnley's wage bill out of interest?
  21. One of those Classical ones would be good, where he's peeing on Venkys sitting at his feet.
  22. Lenihan coming back and our form returning are surely not coincidental?
