  1. I think he meant "you" to mean "one" ODB., not referring to you specifically. At least that's how I read it.
  2. Wasn't the point of choosing the Darwen End that they were close to the away fans and could get some atmosphere going between them?
  3. I think the attendances spoke for themselves KHod.
  4. You can add 'should have" to that list.
  5. I'm not pretending they "set the world alight" Mr Strawman but Preston's fortunes took a big up-turn partly as a result. One centre-back would have gone a long way as you admit. Its therefore not difficult to improve your fortunes by making effective signings in January is it? And the relevance of your last sentence is........?
  6. You can plan for promotion for as far away as you like. BUT if there's a chance of success earlier you don't stick to the original plan! If we'd spent £7m on the defence in the summer and bought a couple in January( like you now recognise Preston did!) then maybe we'd have given that top 6 a shake.
  7. When it mattered we went on that dismal losing streak and were never going to recover. I was pleased we got those 4 wins but I'm disappointed we didn't go on with our earlier form. I don't hold with having 2 or 3 year plans for promotion, you go all out for it and grab any chances that come your way.
  8. I didn't think much of his ambition this season. We got 47 points and he got his hammock out. As for his ambitions for next season, is he capable of achieving them? Time will tell.
  9. You said "everyone sells players"!!! That suggests that Venky's conduct is normal does it not? If I'm clueless, at least I understand the English language. And "yes" they continue to fund the fiasco they caused. You continue your Venky love-in on your own, I'll leave it there.
  10. What sort of pathetic attempt at an answer is that? Are you trying to argue that Venky's conduct has been normal?
  11. You're forgetting the sales!!!
  12. He's been in charge for over 2 years and our wonky defence has nothing to do with the manager? Pull the other one! How about not signing a centre-back last July, repeating the error in January but compounding it by letting Downing go? Led a charmed life has TM at Blackburn because he is so far ahead of his predecessors.
  13. You sound like a Venky advert! "very rarely refused to release the cash" my arse.
  14. If it had been just one list my reaction would have been exactly the same. There's a lot of players but an inadequate number of successes.
  15. Does not make good reading. Of the four in green, Reed is leaving and Smallwood had one good season in Div 1 and is not good enough anymore. Of the middle group in grey, he should have got more than he did from Palmer. Downing was an OK standby. Of the last group in black, out of 13 only Rothwell can be deemed a success, though we are looking to Chapman, Davenport and Brereton for next season. That's a poor return. On the basis of all that I wouldn't give him a job. Obviously more to running a club than transfers but that list is not a pretty sight.
  16. Just need Nicko to tell us!
  17. Its probably plummeted from the highest hopes----£20M. WBA offered £15/16M apparently, anyone think we would still get that? I hop we don't find out and that Dack buckles down and adds hard graft to his repertoire.
  18. Quite so. That he was a bargain and TM's best work is beyond argument. Nobody denying that are they?
  19. Yes, there is a difference between being the best footballer and being the best player.Read my post above. You'll find me agreeing with KHod that Dack is the best footballer at the club. But he's not the best player is he? In fact he didn't even make Top Three. Perhaps those who made that decision didn't read the stats! You would never say Robbie Savage was ever the best footballer but his energy and total commitment often compensated for whatever shortcomings he had.
  20. Well here's a question for you, if he's performed similar to his League 1 campaign his transfer value must have gone up mustn't it? Why does everyone except Biz believe his transfer value has plummeted? Why are we convinced we wouldn't get the £15M WBA reportedly bid for him last close season? And its only a few days since he massively underperformed at Norwich and that was hardly the odd game out. I think he's disappointed for much of the season while displaying flashes of the brilliance he showed much more consistently in League 1, which, in my book, makes him less than we thought he was.
  21. You say Dack is the "best footballer at the club" and I agree but he should then win Rovers "Player of the Year" shouldn't he? But, despite the stats, we all know he's under-performed in comparison to his natural talent. Or, more worryingly, he can only show that sort of form in League 1.
  22. Yes, 2 years older than Daniel Loader, an 18 year old who debuted for Reading aged 16. Did you see his goal this weekend? Brereton has done nothing that good the whole season. By the way, Loader didn't cost £7M.
  23. It was Dack and it was a disgrace. When fans decide on the basis of that display that "Brereton is a player" I'm just staggered. Can't head it, can't trap it and won't try to regain a ball he's lost. That wasn't the only example from him. This is football not ballet ( for which he isn't strong enough). As for Dack he has been coasting for weeks if not months. What's the manager doing about it?
