  1. Anyone else notice the attendance figures for the Championship? Apart from Burton Albion, (and QPR) absolutely enormous. Some big clubs down there now, (or is it up there?)
  2. Rotten idea. Income tax is fair when its not too low for the rich.
  3. I didn't bring it up, blame Blueboy!
  4. Yes, we could start with Luther's cautious move away from a literal interpretation of the Mass, move on to Zwingi's more radical theory of consubstantiation and then on to the Calvinist belief that Communion is merely an act of remembrance or commemoration of the Last Supper. Of course this would only be necessary for those on the MB not as intelligent or informed as you and I.
  5. Should be good for us for a couple of years at this level, unless he gets kicked off the pitch of course.
  6. I don't think he did believe it. Just playing with us really. Made him rich, what did he care?
  7. Feel the same! Didn't want to read it but knew I had to! Congratulations DE on all your hard work.
  8. Delfuenso! If that wasn't a dodgy agent deal, what was it? He had nothing! Reached that conclusion in his first game in his first game, never seen a worse debut and was told on here to"give him a chance"! Couldn't even make Blackpool's starting line-up in the League 2 final!! If Bowyer is such a great spotter of players, what possible excuse has he for that one? Were we still in the hands of agents? Over to Jal!
  9. Has the LT mentioned either Duncan Millar standing for election or Venkys being raided by the tax authorities? If not what use is it?
  10. That's the saddest thing about being a "little" club, watching players you saw make their debut with your team, watching them grow into stars and then watching them going on to even bigger things with another, bigger team. Looking back at all the great players we have lost, I never really get over it.
  11. He forgot King though---Rhodes,Gestede AND King and we still didn't make the play-offs!
  12. Very encouraging. Let's hope it's still the case when Kim-Jong May has a massive majority after the election.
  13. What Huddersfield did was probably to send us down. Relegation should not be a lottery, depending on which team you play when. The problem is that the punishment ie a fine, is nowhere near sufficient to deter would-be wrong-doers and every year sees the rule broken with impunity. And the football authorities do nothing as usual. In the end though, we are in this vulnerable position because of short-comings throughout the squad and throughout the Club which have been obvious and nothing was done about them either.
  14. I can clearly remember people complaining.
  15. Clubs have been fined under this rule before but it's redundant. How many clubs rest players before a "less important" Cup game? We have for a start on many occasions. It's the only way Josh King got to play! I suppose the issue here is the sheer number of changes. It's pretty much giving them the game. Hopefully next week Brum will play a full-strength side and not get 2 penalties !
  16. So true! It's failure to beat Bristol City or Burton Albion or Preston or Barnsley at home which has put us in this position. When you perform so ineptly all season you can't blame others.
  17. Ordinarily a substantial pay-cut would be a big incentive for our players to avoid relegation but since very few of them will be playing for us next season I don't suppose its any incentive at all.
  18. Yet this season's template is the one to be used next season,at an intensified level. Young ones will learn bad habits from their elder loanees. We will never prosper under Venkys
  19. I haven"t made my mind up about Mowbray yet. Given the hand he picked up he hasn't had much to play with. he does at least seem honest and decent He has made us more difficult to beat and he has given us at least a chance to stay up when we would have been relegated already under Coyle. However if we have to win both our last games, nothing suggests we could do that. We'd need a bit of flair and bravery for that and I agree with whoever said we should start with Graham upfront and Emnes just behind him. What Agbonlehor(sp?) will do to our centre-backs is a worry though.
  20. I bet Venkys, Senior and Cheston are crapping themselves at the possibility of us staying up. There is no way we could compete in the Championship without money being spent and there is none to spend. We are a League One club now in all but name.
