  1. That's the saddest thing about being a "little" club, watching players you saw make their debut with your team, watching them grow into stars and then watching them going on to even bigger things with another, bigger team. Looking back at all the great players we have lost, I never really get over it.
  2. He forgot King though---Rhodes,Gestede AND King and we still didn't make the play-offs!
  3. Very encouraging. Let's hope it's still the case when Kim-Jong May has a massive majority after the election.
  4. What Huddersfield did was probably to send us down. Relegation should not be a lottery, depending on which team you play when. The problem is that the punishment ie a fine, is nowhere near sufficient to deter would-be wrong-doers and every year sees the rule broken with impunity. And the football authorities do nothing as usual. In the end though, we are in this vulnerable position because of short-comings throughout the squad and throughout the Club which have been obvious and nothing was done about them either.
  5. I can clearly remember people complaining.
  6. Clubs have been fined under this rule before but it's redundant. How many clubs rest players before a "less important" Cup game? We have for a start on many occasions. It's the only way Josh King got to play! I suppose the issue here is the sheer number of changes. It's pretty much giving them the game. Hopefully next week Brum will play a full-strength side and not get 2 penalties !
  7. So true! It's failure to beat Bristol City or Burton Albion or Preston or Barnsley at home which has put us in this position. When you perform so ineptly all season you can't blame others.
  8. Ordinarily a substantial pay-cut would be a big incentive for our players to avoid relegation but since very few of them will be playing for us next season I don't suppose its any incentive at all.
  9. Yet this season's template is the one to be used next season,at an intensified level. Young ones will learn bad habits from their elder loanees. We will never prosper under Venkys
  10. I haven"t made my mind up about Mowbray yet. Given the hand he picked up he hasn't had much to play with. he does at least seem honest and decent He has made us more difficult to beat and he has given us at least a chance to stay up when we would have been relegated already under Coyle. However if we have to win both our last games, nothing suggests we could do that. We'd need a bit of flair and bravery for that and I agree with whoever said we should start with Graham upfront and Emnes just behind him. What Agbonlehor(sp?) will do to our centre-backs is a worry though.
  11. I bet Venkys, Senior and Cheston are crapping themselves at the possibility of us staying up. There is no way we could compete in the Championship without money being spent and there is none to spend. We are a League One club now in all but name.
  12. Yeah, concerns me that. A week or two ago I wrote that Big Club had the difficult run-in because all 4 games had something resting on them. Since then, their last 2 opponents have nothing to play for. We need 4 points minimum but that would not necessarily be enough.
  13. Now why is "the Great Escape buzzing round my head"? Once again it's the hope that kills you.
  14. Other way round isn't it? Until they speak to her, they won't know what can be done. At the very least it puts continued pressure on Government and keeps the issue upfront.
  15. So you think the Trust shouldn't even bother trying then? What's the point of that?
  16. Birmingham in real trouble I think. All 4 of their remaining games involve something to play for for both sides. 2 relegation-threatened sides, 1 play-off team and local rivals Aston Villa. They could collapse under that. However I was wrong about Bristol so, no doubt, lots of twists and turns to come yet!
  17. Not a big job Chaddy, an impossible one. So no point in having expectations.
  18. Blueboy, it is perfectly possible for anyone of any race to "play the race card", I actually thought Ince did when Rovers sacked him. The press took it up with gusto as well to make us look bad. Surely you'd agree we had to sack him because he was crap and we'd have gone down if we'd kept him? If Rovers were racist we never would have appointed him in the first place? I don't offer an opinion on Rosenior because I don"t know enough about him but it isn't automatically racist to make the comment as you should be able to see from the example I gave above.
  19. Actually Dunn FC, the attempted insult you wrote as being directed against Stuart was against me. I had 2 Blueboy insults in there and both are worn as badges of honour!
  20. Well I think they are"in on it" and the "part-ownership" stuff has plenty of credibility if you've read Glen's stuff properly, so feel free to insult me too!
