  1. I'll remember him for THAT GOAL against Arsenal which took us to the FA Cup Semi-final. But even then he was at war with the manager (Hughes). Remember he went and sat on the sub's bench to highlight the fact that Hughes hadn't been starting him? He was booked for it! Just another piece of poor management Benni had to endure I guess!
  2. Mismanaged by all 3 Rovers managers he "worked" for Eddie! Admittedly one was an idiot.
  3. Tris didn't blame the manager when Dunn fell out with Souness!
  4. Tris' little echo. Stay in our top 3 goal scorers list this season? He's after Dunn and Nelsen then. What a star!
  5. MGP!! Scraping the barrel there! Dunn apparently wants a longer term contract than the club has offered. Who's right there? Hoilett--I don't know. Doesn't see himself as a winger and is being courted by big german clubs I guess. Hardly the managers' fault.
  6. Like Tris you are just using this issue as a stick to beat the manager with. pretty much what you do with every post. Benni's conduct is indefensible as is your own.
  7. To perform to his maximum he would have to get fit. What sort of professional footballer comes back after the break in the state he was?
  8. Sounds like you're condoning his behaviour. He's been like this, more or less, for the whole 4 years we've had him. How can you use Benni well if he can't even be arsed to get fit?
  9. He certainly never wanted to leave. There were plenty of reports that he held out as long as he could before joining Stoke from Sheffield Utd because he wanted to come here. Sam wanted to buy him but Board said "no dosh".
  10. It would be GROSSLY unfair to drop either Dunn or Di Santo. If we are going to play 4-4-2 at Bolton the best option would surely be McCarthy partnering Di Santo with Dunn in midfield. The issue is whether mid-field would be strong enough.
  11. His attitude makes him unpickable. No problem at the moment because he wants to play in the World Cup, when that's over he will return to type. The manager obviously has had a long look at him since he was appointed and clearly doesn't like what he has seen.If someome stumps up the cash in January he is off.
  12. So which reply will we see more often? "He's a complete donkey, couldn't hit a barn door......." or "showed what he could do in a proper formation, we should keep him"
  13. There is no question that in pure talent McCarthy is one of the best around. Its the attitude that I question. In his first season he was motivated by his desire for a move to Chelsea and didn't he make sure everybody knew? Right now he wants to secure his South Africa place at the World Cup.So I guess its wise to use him! After that who knows?
  14. Beattie always looks really up for it though, he always looks likely to score. To answer mhead's question-------Beattie wanted to come here, the manager wanted to buy him but there was no money available.Simple as that.
  15. He is mentally flawed and this explains why year after year he was rumoured to be coming to a big Premiership club and every year it never happened. He had one good season with us but came with the aim of making it to a big club, hopefully Chelsea. It was embarassing to see him snuggling up tp Mpourhino in the way he did just before kick-off at Stamford Bridge. When his big transfer didn't come off he sulked and his form died.He tried to hold us to ramsom, while taking our cash of course, and he's now reaping what he's sown. Talented but flawed like many players down the years.I'd never let him go to Portsmouth though!
  16. Still missing Souness! Still slagging off our best player and leading goal-scorer! What a pleasure it was to watch that side till Sourness sold our best players and wasted our money on the likes of Amorusso and Baby Ferguson and then walked out on us when we were in the poo. Ruins clubs and moves on that's our Graeme as Newcastle and Liverpool fans know all too well. Why can't you put your prejudices aside for one moment and simply appreciate the wonderful job Dunn has done for us this season?
  17. Who cares what he does? He left us, I never thought he was much good anyway and he won't be coming back to us. About as pointless a thread as the takeover one.
  18. On a practical note------how often is the guy going to play? That was his first game back for ages and what does he do? On a moral note, would any parent want their son at a club which would sign him? How many chances has he had? He's a complete nutter and we should let him go to Stoke where he would feel at home.
  19. Didn't he pay 6.75M for him? I like Allardyce but that was a terrible bit of business.
  20. I remember being on holiday at some caravan site when I read in the papers we'd signed him. An Arsenal supporter also on holiday told me what a great buy this was. It wasn't! Although Haverty's legs moved so fast they disappeared he never actually got anywhere because he was so small! Crowd liked him because he always looked so busy but in reality it was a bad signing.
  21. Wasn't the greatest strike force ever assembled at Ewood Shearer, Sutton, Gallacher and Newell or is this a joke?
  22. I thought the same about Pedersen. When won the penalty I thought "when was the last time he was seen in the penalty area?"
  23. So you hope we win every game and hope Sam leaves! Isn't that bizarre for a Rovers supporter? If we win every game surely we'd want him forever?
