  1. There are very few facts in football, overwhelmingly it's all about opinion. Armstrong looked a good striker last season in the middle. The only conclusion we can draw imo is that TM does not consider him good enough this season at a higher level. So he's stuck him out wide and, apart from that Leeds game, the general consensus is that he has been a disappointment. Sad for him because he is not in his preferred position. Whether we've won more games than we've lost is not, in itself, an argument for picking Armstrong out wide. We can always improve and ,indeed, we should have won more games than we have. Conway is a genuine winger and showed exactly what we have been missing all season. Your closing comment is purely your opinion and you produce no other evidence for it other than that's what you "think". We need proper wingers alright and I hope very much TM comes round to that point of view. At least we need that option, Conway proved it.
  2. 1) All the info on this transfer values it at 7M, there has never to my knowledge been any info to the contrary. You, of course, think you know better and have consistently implied that the figure is inflated without ever producing any evidence of any kind. It simply an assumption on your part. Not only is there" little chance" that this fee wasn't all paid upfront, there is no chance whatsoever and no-one has ever claimed it was! It simply isn't the way transfers are done. I don't see anything nefarious or dodgy about this transfer, I simply believe its a Venky transfer aimed at capital investment rather than football investment. TM doesn't seem to have the faith in Brereton that you and Chaddy do since he has never started a game and usually plays just a handful of minutes.. Yet in these cameos you and Chaddy seem to see magnificent talent in him. Travis looked good for 5 minutes too, think we could get 7M for him (in instalments of course)? 2) You've said it yourself! You've based your own opinion on Brereton's talent on "a handful of cameos"!! What else is there? And WE don't prefer to start a goal scoring number 10 ahead of Brereton! Tony Mowbray decides that which goes back to my Point one!
  3. I think I remember some blaming Raya I don't see what else he could have done? Bannon was left totally in the clear, in the 6 yard box. Don't see how Raya could have covered that!
  4. True but employers don't pay 7M for them.
  5. Only in the same way that you claim to have explained obvious contradictions in your posts. Many of us (most?) clearly don't find the explanations about Brereton very convincing. Judging by the way TM plays Brereton, he doesn't think this was a great signing either.
  6. So true. The problem is that Conway could start next game and be completely anonymous. What this game should show Mowbray is how we had an extra dimension to our attacking play because we had a genuine winger rather than a "wide forward" and that he should sign one in January.
  7. Sorry, "thanks"--- what for? What am I missing?
  8. Winger winger winger! That's my wish for Father Christmas!
  9. Pretty easy Chaddy with you sometimes. Your attitude to a loyal servant like Graham is insulting and embarrassing and its all about justifying your opinion that Graham should make way for Brereton. When the facts show you to be wrong, rather than accept it, you try to change the facts---ie he just scored 3 tap-ins. Absolutely pathetic.
  10. If we substituted "genuine winger" for "Conway" there's the lesson for TM to pick up on. No way Armstrong can supply that.
  11. Wouldn't mind Bannon if we were to lose Dack. Outstanding display in a very poor side.
  12. Because I can enjoy responding to Chaddy's misplaced triumphalism as well! Ask Chaddy why he doesn't just enjoy a win.
  13. Yes---good job TM hasn't listened to you and dropped Graham!!!
  14. Interesting thought but playing less often than Chapman!
  15. Wasted on the wing though!
  16. Whenever anyone talks of replacing the manager, we must remember its Venkys who will make the decision as to whether, when and who the replacement is. That doesn't mean a job for life for TM but it fills me with absolute dread so I really want TM to get his act together. Little chance that they could get things right twice.
  17. He needs a really wise 2nd in charge alongside him who can persuade him not to follow through with his most stupid decisions, like selecting a team with no strikers or bringing a defender on when we need more upfront etc etc. I'm absolutely sick of holding my head in my hands when I see the selected side. We are short of goals, partly because we keep missing them but also we lack creativity. The creative players, apart from an isolated Dack, largely stay on the bench. Again, he is probably afraid to play attacking players because the defence has been crumbling lately. Whose fault is that? if the defence needs improving, why sign mid-fielders he won't play? I get the impression that he runs the football show largely on his own and I think he needs help. Whether he'd accept that I have no idea.
  18. Fed up trying to get through that round hole!
  19. Surely its at least a two-off? Game v Rotherham wasn't great either.
  20. You can either revert or go back. You can't revert back! (anymore that you can continue on!)
  21. There was a suggestion a few months ago that TM be given a 6 year extension! People need to be more balanced. He is making selection errors and the players aren't playing with the same spirit that's been such a positive feature of his tenure. He deserves the right to put things straight but patience isn't endless in this game.
  22. If this bad run is merely a blip and we recover, then you have a point. What worries me though is how TM never seems to learn from his mistakes. Many games you just have to look at the line-up to know we will struggle. Everyone sees it but him. Then, irrespective of the result, he does it again next week.
