Our views on Danny Murphy came from what we saw with our own eyes. What Fulham fans saw at their club doesn't affect that. We have no direct. personal experience of Rodwell. We only have what Sunderland fans have to say, from their personal experience, including on here, and it seems damning to me! However we'll wait and see but if this is the centre-back option we so sorely need......

I guess psychologically speaking, the window is over so any anxiety has disappeared. Whatever we think of the window we can't change it now so, in true British style, there's nothing left to do but make the best of it and carry on.

If "The Plan" is to get us back in the Premiership and then sell the club, then selling him at this point,whatever the fee, would be counter-intuitive. I'm optimistic!

Way better than I expected. Sad we missed out on Chapman, we will need something different at times from what we have. Vulnerable to injury/suspension at centre-back. Hope Raya can play every game. So some reservations but squad now good enough to finish top half and chance of play-offs. Dramatic turn-around since Mowbray arrived.

We have been burned by signing foreign players under Venkys,(stating the obvious) but I suspect like you that the emphasis on young, British talent is clear and deliberate. The auditors probably produced figures to show the rate of return on local players is much higher and that there is an optimum age to sign them. I'm happy with that. At least we have a plan these days.

I suppose we couldn't expect to resolve all our issues in one window. TM did say at one point that it could take us 2 or 3. At the start of the season most fans were saying we wanted first and foremost to stay up. I think the transfer business has made that highly likely, I couldn't imagine us being relegated with this squad. If we are within sight of Top 6 at Christmas, the January window could push us over the line. Meanwhile lets see these young lads kick on!

Must be Central London! I really wouldn't sell him at any price.Even that sum would not enable us to buy an equivalent replacement in time and the effect on the team and supporters would be devastating. If he's able to attract bids of that size now, what would he be worth in 2 years time when he's helped us back to the Premiership? How many millions is that worth? That's the way I'd look at it. We have 3 more years of him and absolutely no need to sell till then whatever the offers. I've lost count of the number of times fans have said "well with that sort of money we can improve the squad". It never happens.

Interesting reading some of the comments in LT for once, because no John Claret or Walks like a Duck in sight! Gone to ground! This was a few days ago mind. By contrast, lots of Rovers fans on Burnley stories getting their own back! Its all very childish I know but there is a general feeling that the "gap is closing" and that we are on our way back.

No we wouldn't! I know this because we didn't! There were regrets that we had to force Speedie out after all he'd done but, collectively, we wet ourselves with excitement. We knew who he was alright. You're making this up!

I'm hoping the buzz we got from Brereton signing will carry over to this game. We will have to lose one sometime and this looks a real danger game for us especially if the injured front players aren't back. I would be happy with a draw too.
