Some brilliant players who carried on well past 30 are being remembered and rightly so. The point is they were brilliant players with still a lot to offer. So its not necessarily the age of the player that counts but what they can do. Are we signing anyone remotely like Speedie or Cowans or Hughes? No we are not--- so the argument is redundant.

The Final Countdown eh? Its been heading in the direction for over a decade but this season it seems to be very very close. Everything we feared when Venkys took over is finally coming to pass. I must admit I had never considered how difficult it must be for people who are visually impaired to do a simple thing like walking down a street. When you think back the clutter on our streets has grown exponentially.
