  1. If the club were to be put up for sale the buyers would emerge. You've got it the wrong way round.
  2. Club isn't for sale. Venkys have spurned offers in the past. But you know all this. Keep sticking to the script.
  3. Thanks, you don't have to convince me! Don't forget Wrexham! But if Venkys pull the plug on our club we are finished. Rubbish isn't it?
  4. An Australian millionaire has bought Southend United. How unlikely is that? But here's been plenty of other examples. Provides the answer to those who think we are doomed if Venkys decide to go away.
  5. What bad fortune, hoping your mum pulls through and that you have the strength of two to help her.
  6. I should have added "look at the goals we're conceding." You can't lose 4-1 at home and claim bad luck. We are shipping goals for fun. And if we don't stiffen up defensively with more mid-field cover we won't be winning very many and we'll be relegated. Can't blame Travis and Wharton whatever short-comings they might have. They can't be everywhere.
  7. We've been saying "3 in the middle, 2's no good" for months. I think your comparison with Keegan is bang-on. Newcastle were an attractive side too but never won anything under him.
  8. Agree, If the same thing happens over and over, its not bad luck. I accept that bad luck happens and can affect a game or two along the way but, bad luck, and good luck for that matter, can never be continuous. If you're losing regularly then you're doing something wrong.
  9. No-one had the whit to work out that if that can helped take us up then the outlay involved was irrelevant in the bigger scheme of things. That's what's missing at Ewood, any perspective. Instead, given July's shambles as well, we have a reputation for incompetence and untrustworthiness among other clubs. However poor we were in the 70's and eighties we at least never had that. Tragic what we've become.
  10. Jdt would be a mug if he didn't consider a club with better owners, which means about 99% of clubs on his radar.
  11. You're right but this isn't "balance" KHod. Tobacco companies didn't go into manufacture of vapes in order to stop people smoking. They went into it to create new addicts for their nicotine-based products. Utterly bereft of any decent qualities, only the profit margins count. The problems being reported by parents of vaping teenagers has only just begun.
  12. Cheaper than funding heart disease though and all the rest of diseases nicotine causes, and less awful consequences for individuals and their families.
  13. And that's solely what vapes should be used for. Currently vapes are creating new nicotine addicts and potential new tobacco clients. That's why the tobacco companies piled in to manufacture of them. Some countries have banned over the counter sale of vapes. In Australia they're only available on prescription to those adults trying to quit smoking. NZ intends to do the same and I think I read some Scandinavian countries plan the same. First duty of government is to protect citizens from harm.
  14. i'm not sre Burnley care too much. They got decent money for a few of their better players, invested well in young players and are probably confident that they can come straight back up again with more parachute money once again. Quite jealous of them really!
  15. Apparently not!
  16. Its not a matter of choice for an already overwhelmed NHS who have to treat the results though is it? Anyway, not going off-topic any further, I just wish we had a sponsor I didn't want to go broke.
  17. Chaddy's been into his Thesaurus again!
  18. Eh? Getting more people addicted to Nicotine with all the implications for lung and heart diseases, particularly among the young, and they deserve respect?
  19. They decide the bills to a great extent don't they? The club's funding determines the size of bills not the other way around.
  20. Did you wilfully or carelessly misread my post? You write as if I'm urging everyone to overthrow Venkys and get rid of them. The context of this discussion was about when/if Venkys pulled out and about whether anyone would take over or if the club would simply die. There is no way to force Venkys out, except possibly, as I said more than a decade ago---if no-one turned up to watch. Even then I think they might be vindictive and leave nothing but a shell. We are on a long journey alright with them---to even more penury or worse. The only discussion worth having is which is the more preferable----soon or years ahead. But I won't be making the decision nor will any other fan. It'll be Venkys who decide they can't be bothered anymore.
  21. No-ones looking forward to that process. Well maybe one or two. It won't be of our choosing anyway. If Venkys pull out, we start again. That's when the credible party (or parties) comes forward. I'm confident that there will be enough interest in this historic Club not to let it die. If you don't feel that way I feel sorry for you---you will suffer more than me. Stockholm Syndrome.
  22. What's that mean? By what criteria have they not been as disastrous as "some like to make out."? Not in the Conference maybe? They've fucked the club up good and proper. And the recent transfer window shows they have learned nothing. People don't like to make this out, its simply a fact. They've been a disaster, they continue to be a disaster and will always be a disaster. Most recent example---"should we buy a £7M house in the area and take it out of Rovers transfer budget? Really, you should be ashamed to keep coming up with this crap.
  23. Same old from you Eddie. They are paying for the mess they created. Said a thousand times. Sure they could bankrupt us anytime they chose. But we would rise again I've no doubt about that and no fear. It may or may not take years to get back to todays mediocre position but there's an upside---we'd be free of those dopey bastards forever I don't understand why some think that Rovers would almost uniquely fail to survive.
