I did! Great day especially as my flatmate was a West Ham fan! Some nasty stuff in the crowd that day, Hammers fans not exactly saints. Yep---me again! -
That *was* the January Window

If we are approaching Christmas and a player hasn't been selected once, I think we can make some sort of judgement. And it doesn't reflect well on those responsible. -

As has been said before, appearances can mean on for the last 5 minutes. The number of starts he has made is more significant. -
Interested in signing Diaz on loan in January. Rumour on News Now. Interestingly he's described as a winger!

Do you think we'd get much of it if they did? -

I can't help thinking that future transfers in depends on sales out. In that case we are probably waiting for the right time to accept bids for Wharton. That probably means nothing in January of any consequence and therefore a nothing end to the season. Perhaps a sale in the summer, but will we get some, all or none of it for transfers in? That's the essential problem we face. There is no plan, no time lines. We just drift according to the whims of erratic owners. -

It seems to me that we largely only score 2 types of goal--the central though ball which Szomdics (usually) sidefoots wide of the advancing keeper and the pull-back from the by-line tapped in from a few yards out. I'm used to seeing more variety than this! Where's the quick break down the wing and the pinpoint header from the central striker? Where's the screamer from 25 yards that bulges the net? How many other teams score regularly from a corner--either a direct header or a scramble from the confusion? We hardly ever shoot now. Even with a clear shot available on the edge of the penalty area we have to try one more pass. Clearly, we haven't the personnel and we have to work so much harder to create gilt-edge chances. -

To be fair to the Coach, we haven't got any except maybe Travis and Batty who isn't there yet. -

Its a nightmare.I could have written the script for that game. Almost every week we play the better football and are complemented for it. But our squad is stretched, we don't have a decent natural central striker and we tire towards the end and concede late goals. We can't put our subs on earlier because they are not good enough. All goes back to lack of investment in the squad . January looms. If we don't do something substantial then this season will fizzle out. How long will JDT put up it it? For once I'm on the side of those who say "we won't find anyone better." -

We deserved better but never seem to get it against this lot. Best team in 2nd half no doubt. Some superb approach play as usual but nobody on the end of them. We are often in a good position to put a cross over but don't knowing we have no height up there. -

Don't understand why Burden Park never got a reputation like, say Millwall and the Den. For the record, I got beaten up at a Saturday night game there, early 60's when random violence wasn't that common. I was a scrawny kid, the bloke was about mid-20's and a real low life. Definitely the worst ground I've ever been on. -
Leopold Wahlstedt. About Damn Time.

I don't know if he wanted to go or not. Maybe he's a workaholic---he'll need to be, at the heart of Luton's defence! But if he'd stayed here and if we had a decent striker maybe he'd only have had to wait a season to fulfil his dream. That's the level of thinking and expectation that we should be embracing. In any case, under Venkys, several contracted players have asked away and its been refused. What's different this time?---Venkys spent £7M on a house! -

Was he still contracted to us though? Arguably best keeper since Brad that we've had. You could argue Raya but he was still developing. -

Kaminski was perfect for us and we've dropped a big one there. All about Venkys, nothing about the interests of the Club, who, after all, did not splurge £7M on a house they'll hardly use. If they'd splurged £7M on a striker and kept Kaminski we'd be on our way to top 6 at least. -

JRC is injury-prone--another one. So unlucky. We will miss him hugely.

Yes--I don't think that's been emphasised enough. If you make a save but push it into the run of a challenging forward, you might as well not have bothered -

He's also played a big part in these cockups at the heart of defence when we play it about within a few yards of our goal. We could have conceded 2 from this early in the first half. Can we not? -

In the first half Leo dropped a simple overhead lob that a 6 year old would have swallowed and he had no pressure on him at all. Couldn't believe it. There was no attacker near. Therefore he recovered easily. That really worried me, you can't help thinking there is always a bad mistake in him. Gives me the jitters. Can't be good for our defenders.
