Managers can only do so much. If Hedges hadn't had an unbelievable brain fart with a few seconds to go we'd have been hailing a great victory. If Hedges had done just about anything else but what he did we would have won. Find it hard to forgive that one. Bloody clueless.

It would be astonishing and utterly galling if Mowbray got his team into the play-offs at the first attempt with the youngest side in the Championship! After years of faffing about with us. Surely Sunderland are not ready, surely they need to go on a journey, surely promotion can'r be conjured up in no time? -

Trojan horse! -
We didn't see any of it.
-
The assumption being that when we cash in, permission will be granted to spend the money on acquiring replacements. We have no assurance of that with these owners.

Came across this post from 2022! Won't divulge the poster, it was a commonly held view at the time. Point of my post is to say that a season in football is a long time and best to err on the side of caution. "JRC when fit isn't remotely in Nyambe's class imo. I'm astounded anyone thinks he is."
-
5 year deal through to June 2027.
-
Well we have erratic owners but with 4 years left on his contract we would be insane to let him go this summer. He''ll play no part in any bid for promotion and we'd get the lowest fee possible.
-
His contract goes for another 4 years. Till then we hold the cards. Best way to make a bomb from him is to get promoted and for him to star in the Premiership.
-
Ok fair enough but I wouldn't contemplate selling him before he's fulfilled much more of his potential and we get shedloads for him. He's in contract till 2027 so no hurry. I'm realistic to know we'll lose both him and Philips at some point but if we don't get enough for both either to get promotion or stay up then what's it all for?
-
Eh? If a Premier League club comes in for Adam we should be happy with a loan in return? If we get big money for him surely then we should be buying quality?

Not to mention Luton and Millwall as well! Be a miracle if we made the 6 now. -
So, so clever! 1969 I think when he first has a series on British TV. not many keep the standard up that long. Interestingly, hated in Australia in those early years, Aussies felt he was letting them down! Worked with an Aussie who detested him.

Burnley seem to have taken the foot off the pedal since promotion was assured but I suspect they might just turn it up for us! Can see WBA creeping in now at the last. Just to put this season in perspective though---when did we last go into the the last 3 games with something to play for? This season has been different. Frustrating yes but infinitely better than playing out the season with nothing in it. -

I think people should remember that line-up when they get stuck into Travis. How many times has it been 2 in mid-field and the two have been Travis and Morton? Travis has been expected to do too much. Imagine if it was Travis, O'Brien and Wharton! 😩 How would he have looked then? -
Dilan Markanday.. potential talent or ?

The thread is titled "potential talent or..." I'm going with "or". -

I'm appalled by those scenes and demand that the entire Preston team be suspended for one game! -

Park at Walton Le Dale Capitol Centre for free and catch the shuttle bus which takes you to Preston Centre. One every 5 minutes so. Easy and safe. -

He didn't catch it, he flapped at it and pushed it forwards towards goal. I got that from Sky Sports too and its absolutely clear to me! Don't know what else I can say! And he definitely fouled Pears before the ball crossed the line. Ergo..... -
Must surely start all of our final games?

The decline has been pretty long really, interspersed with a few good results. When we played Burnley the winner went top, we are now 28 points behind them! -

I thought that too. One big smack or fist from anywhere 25 yards on and the ref blows his whistle. -

Clear handball, no doubt at all. VAR would have ruled it out. Made for that situation where there are so many bodies in the 6 yard box that the officials don't get a clear view. -

Fans not lamenting when we were doing well. Odd that.
