  1. High fee, low wages was the word put out on the street by Waggot at the time. Also i'm sure 'no clauses' was also chucked about on here as a defense for the club paying so much.
  2. Another point that seems lost on these people is Preston or Burnley with 12k fans in never mind 15k are half full or over. That creates the atmosphere yet we have 10k more seats available than those two but seem to only want to fill the first ten thousand. It's ridiculous, the new Ewood worked for us in the Jack days but the Venky championship induced era it's been difficult. Waggots mantra is squeeze what you have but why not spin it to USE what you have. That's the feeling with the academy so why not Ewood ? Why not get as many in there are regular as possible and use the bloody place and its great facilities instead of letting them rot and closing bits down. This club even as a mid sized championship outfit is capable of selling 12k plus season tickets and getting 15k plus crowds with away fans. It will never happen without being priced to do so though. Use the stadium, make it work for us instead of against, there's a huge whopping advantage there that no one seems to want to take.
  3. Yet again it needs pointing out Preston and others sold the majority of theirs on vastly reduced prices compared to Rovers. Doesn't really matter what the comparisons are right now the ship has sailed. The denial on this is embarrassing to say the least but company men are company men i suppose.
  4. Spent the last few windows spending modest sums on the likes of Pickering, Edun and Markandy so i don't see that altering. The trick is hopefully to do better than some of those within similar means i expect. Also they've taken on guys in the recruitment dept from Oxford etc so obviously looking for their experience of the lower league markets. We'll be linked via the lazy journos to players from clubs GB and JDT have been involved with obviously but i wouldn't get to carried away about that.
  5. I look forwards to your similar comments when the next one pops up, then the next. Legends yes, forget the rest.
  6. Bowyer left years ago i'm not sure why we have to be headlining birthday greetings on twitter to every ex manage and player. I want to see current club news on there. It's nice to be nice but sometimes you have to just let go and move on leave the OTT virtue signalling to Lineker and the like.
  7. Yes it just about goes against everything that is supposed to be fit and proper in terms of protecting the club from going bust. No sign of an Anderson/SEM/Kentaro/Vineeth/Shebby and other assorted chancers and loons yet though.
  8. It seems anyone on here who has got a foot under the table - or so they think - at the club suddenly assumes their stance on pricing. Same old story 'it doesn't bother me so..' which totally reflects the noises coming out of the club. Buy or don't buy it's up to you we still get our wages. Shockingly bad i'm alright Jack attitudes which no doubt will be followed by more digs at the public when the evidence is on show inside Ewood next season.
  9. Welcome to our world Dingles, it's been a long time coming but you are now looking like getting a dose of what we had. Although i doubt it'll be anything like as crazy or dodgy.
  10. Doesn't really have any effect on who we sign or don't under this ownership model. Might affect how much is spent on stadium maintenance or level of pitch investment under cutback Steve though.
  11. We've gone way past thousands walking away because of lack of success i wish that would sink in. Better way to put that is thousands haven't come back regularly due to continuing lack of Prem or regularly challenging. Our real issue is and has been for the last 3 years now the hardcore who've been happy to turn up with mid table mediocrity falling away badly. The ones for who home matches at Ewood were a given whatever was going on either through habit, just something to do or in most cases plain loyalty. A combination of price combined with disillusion in most cases i'd wager. That's the real issue we have not the glory hunters or casuals, we had them types in the 80's, all clubs around here do.
  12. Watch comedy instead it does a fellow good to laugh once in a while.
  13. He can watch with binos from the office. Nothing to stop him texting Lowe 'tell that striker to get off the effing wing !' every now and again.
  14. Big money for their favs/signings/ex Boro boys and naff all for lads coming through by looks of it. Mowbray loved his pecking order and seniority dictating things.
  15. It'll come through just after they've stopped paying Mowbray.
  16. It was an 11th hour appointment so it's no wonder there are these issues but a little more organization goes a long way ! Where's Jack Straw 😄
  17. It would be handy if Gallagher and Dack could strike up an understanding.
  18. Maybe they should have come up with something to fill the BBE lower virtually with ST holders. Create that wall of noise - as it was at times last season - massively helps the players. Then they could concentrate on other areas with match by match stuff.
  19. Surely they have a car with voice text in it, no need to be tapping away whilst driving.
  20. Armstrong was Tony's project when he was here, he isn't coming back and if we loan in a striker chances are it'll be a different type.
  21. PNE don't have an academy like here and others were already taking up squad places that's why they let Dolan go. Likes of us could carry the likes of him longer or loan them out. Hes proven a good signing here so no point trying to say hes shite now but whether he is good enough or the right type of player for the new manager is another thing. There's a DoF in place now and he's going to look at things like this if he wants to raise funds for rebuilding. Where someone has come in for nothing and isn't a regular starter but might rake in 2 or 3 million, moneyball migt be the order of the day now. After all the previous lot and this CEO have ensured we miss funds from an academy product or two leaving.
  22. As far as Waggot goes the guy isn't on trial so not much point asking him why he didn't get x.y.z as we've got a manager now. To come out and say we had a big name or two in the building won't help it'll just rile people and undermine JDT which isn't fair. This fella and set up needs 100% backing not just now but all season whatever happens, we aren't daft we'll see a clearer picture after a season. As for Waggot again the issue is probably he just isn't really up to the task as to what is required here. Hes never done any building clubs before he's worked at ones struggling and on the slide in Charlton and Coventry. With by the looks of it a remit to squeeze every last drop out of all aspects rather than overseeing football operations. He has plenty experience though but maybe not the type that is required here now. Rovers is a very sensitive fanbase especially after what has gone on over the last decade so it needs careful handling.
  23. It's still dire and likely an over estimate given nobody can be 100 percent sure. If there truly was a new manager boost the figures would've flown up but they appear to be trickling.
