  1. It should be just that, i think it's £35 in the Prem ? So a tenner less sounds about right to me.
  2. Probably rotate it to a brownfield site somewhere if some got the chance.
  3. It's good to have someone onboard in charge of the football operations but he has to be able to direct, not just recommend or ask. Surely if he sees a decent young player that will fit what JDT wants and the head coach is happy with it. Then he can spend a half a million initial fee and sign off 3 grand a week without going through half a dozen other levels for a simple 'yes' !
  4. Well how many minions of ticket office managers, commercial dept etc etc has he installed by now ? WFT does he actually do for his money apart from 'oversee' everything ? Beyond a cushy number this mon.
  5. At a normal club the CEO or Chairperson would be in charge of the budget allocated by the ownership or board. They would then be able to sign off transfers or wages that fit into that as that should be within their authority. They should be trusted enough and capable enough to do that because, in effect, that's why you employ these people. Here what we now to seem to have is another level added, a new face but the same old chain of command. (That's without the hypothetical some would say light hearted scenario above)
  6. Then the board ( Waggott) present it to Suhail who either says no or presents it to Babu who either says no or he'll present it to Barry. He'll then either say yes/no or he'll present it to Mrs or Mr D. Moss grows quicker on new bricks. If Gregg has the budget lines and knows the budget then if it's in that why can't he say yes ?
  7. And find a way to fleece big away support without screwing home fans who come match by match.
  8. Is it not just some kind of admin cock up ? Surely for all these existing ST holders seats to disappear there'd have to be a lot of newbie take ups pinching them.
  9. I'd still rather have Dack in the false 9 than Buckley if they persist with that way.
  10. I'd rather it happen now like this under a new setup who hopefully are working to a plan than it happen under the old regime. Couldn't stand another two or three seasons of that going nowhere but now i can handle another mid table season or two if we can see what the plan is. It might actually lead somewhere as long as they show the ambition to punch upwards. It's not ideal we should be building on last season but that was never a plan really it just caught everybody by surprise. This transition was always going to happen its been bubbling in the background a while. Should have put it into action under new leadership two years ago imo but we got transition to possession instead !!!
  11. Well hes got the guy to play right sided in a back 3 he bid a few million for years ago for nothing now. Someone who'll fit comfortably into Boro's wage structure, then he's got a well rated LWB on loan from a Prem club. Presumably to play at LWB. Wise business, wise manager.
  12. The worrying thing is that all plays into the hands of the restrictions i suppose. More fences, buses, early ko's and high ticket prices keeping crowds lower then less manpower needed. Vicious circle.
  13. Exactly. Look at Wilder at Boro he's assessed them and first chance hes got hes gone and got two players who fit the way he plays. One on loan and one for no fee so it hasn't broken the bank. We waited years for that kind of thing under Mowbray and it never happened in fact the opposite happened. He spent big money for us on two players to try and then shoehorn into his way. I very much doubt Giles will be starting as a right winger next season either.
  14. Yeah the two van loads i saw at tesco express on LBR loading up on copious amounts of pop crisps and sweets to sit in their vans all morning looked really gutted to be on that particular overtime 😂
  15. Sure i read somewhere there was a bit of interest in him that might involve a fee. Although it wouldn't be much and he'd probably have to prove his fitness first but you never know with some of these cash rich obscure foreign clubs. All it takes is a superagent on the job with the right contacts and away we go. I've seen people say pay him off and just get rid but there isn't much sense in that unless they've got a good replacement on a free lined up. These things are what you employ a DOF for though so we'll see.
  16. We need to 'trade' Ayala if possible not just push him out the door or pay him off. Get a few quid from some club in a warm country and put his wages to better use otherwise lets have a tune out of him. If he does well for a few months and helps get points on the board before the inevitable rest then fair enough. Hopefully JDT and the gang can assess him if we can't get a replacement now there is always Jan.
  17. Probably a million quid invested in Pears and Hedges in fee for the pair.
  18. That's what he'll be targeting to make up his numbers, fleece away fans and the few home fans that will pitch up.
  19. I'll settle for any style of winning football but failing that i want a lively style and a nice bit of counter attacking. Pressure to play 'attractive' football all too often leads to being happy with a losing as long as your stats are good.
  20. He's going to have a big shortfall again on his ST numbers so the pay on the days will have to carry the can for that to make up the budget. Can only see another price rise and cat A games.
  21. The high press has worked well for us when it has been used but it's difficult to take it into every game. Under Bowyer we had it once every 6 games, under TM last season we had it quite often first half of the season but once it stopped it rarely appeared again.
