  1. You can keep trumpeting that all you want but what do you think we'd be averaging now in our position ? Everything is the same except Vs fired off years ago ? Come on what crowds are we getting ? How many of the stadiums c25k home seats have bums on them at home to Milwall ?
  2. I thought he did well in the loan market also but in terms of Klopp and Guardiola their trust wasn't exclusive to Mowbray. Not a dig in any way it's just a bit of a common misconception Mowbray was some kind of special guy to send players to, they have their good young'uns loaned to plenty clubs.
  3. Yes i should have said 'for our level'. Cheaper season tickets are needed above anything as other local clubs have shown. Even then though there'd still be at least 10k empty in home sections - which is better than 20 obviously. But the moaners who constantly moan about this negative fanbase we are suppossed to have would still moan. 'Oh our fans are shit we should be getting 18/20k, after all they turned up for the Oxford and Bournemouth games' Some just don't grasp it's a historical small town fanbase and always has been. If you want numbers at this level you need success and cheaper tickets. And if you can't have both you definitely need one !
  4. There are 20k empty seats partly because this stadium was too big for the town unfortunately. If Burnley, Preston, Bolton or Blackpool had a same sized stadium they'd have a similar number of empty seats. That's just the way it is although personally i think we should have a few more turning up there are obviously reasons why most don't beyond being negative.
  5. Spot on. I expect a big part of his job will be overseeing the sourcing of players for U23 and Academy level. To then fill the gaps created by those they move into the first team squad or let go. That's how it's being set up to work here now, in house first outsourcing second. That's why for this season in terms of loans they might have been better going off the Mowbray/Park list, assuming one did actually exist.
  6. He's probably no better than Lenihen which again shows how these balls ups and penny pinching end up costing more in the long run. Waggot/Suhail...OUT.
  7. The last point is an interesting one, just being an out of work Mowbray mate probably.
  8. There is virtually zero chance of anything getting re-invested i cannot believe anyone thinks otherwise. All it would do, depending on when it went through of course in terms of the accounts, would be to put the books in order for another 12 months. Similar to the AA sale, then a couple of million in headroom might be created in next summers budget. That's it.
  9. You don't know that. Of course it's easier to cherry pick the negative ones and ignore the others but really we don't know who to credit what with. Mowbray himself has good form on the loans though whatever else we bash him for.
  10. Unless they had their own targets lined up and their own contacts to bring them in then was this alleged ripping up of lists the right thing to do ? Rovers have paid a fella to stay on and put those things in place so that was another lump of wasted money. Add in the fact that last season presumably it was Park who got a few good ones in, Mowbray also had good form for the loans. So all of a sudden after maybe some foundations were laid they are starting from scratch and probably finding it hard going. Also another thing is we were fishing in a pond where Rovers were making decent wage contributions. That brought in the likes of Poveda, Khadra and JPV. If Waggot has got hold of that and slashed it then the market to find good players is even smaller. I think it's far more than just trying to fit a 'new style' as those lads brought in last season had no probs pressing and grafting. We need similar but as always you have to pay a bit more for quality yet all of a sudden players are swerving us !
  11. I do worry a bit that what JDT sees as a high pressing high intensity game coming from the relatively laid back Swedish leagues and what we see as the same in the aggressive EPL are two different things.
  12. We aren't low balling Lenihen and Nyambe until it's too late then throwing money on a loan for Davies. What happened to all this ' doesn't fit our structure, can't break our limit' talk all of a sudden ? It's never happening if they want more than ten grand a week.
  13. Pretty much 100% the 2nd team though and a very young one plus it sounded like possession was the name of the game. That rarely leads to anything exciting but it gives young players time on the ball.
  14. Nobody knew about that until it was exercised. For what it's worth i doubt JDT has had the same kind of budget promises Lambert had he was told we were going to go for it.
  15. He'll have known the project when he took it on why is being billed 'project' if it isn't going to be a fresh reset. Whatever he was told he'll have to go with what he has for all we know he's been given a list of young players but might not think they are any better than what is here. People seem under the impression he's here because hes been sold a dream and promised a budget. I'd suggest that's not the case at all we only have to look at how this appointment happened. He wasn't doing anything and fancied a job in England, we needed a guy who had no big demands or large wage and happy to work with young players. I'm not sure this set up will cost much more than the last one as will JDT and GB be on more wages than Mowbray and Venus ? Very unlikely plus we've lost 20k pwk off the wage bill with departing players and if they aren't replaced by similar that frees up a bit.
  16. I'm not sure these teams like tonights and the second one on Saturday are all about JDT assessing. To me it looks more like they are desperate to get proper matchday mins into as many as possible as they will be this seasons back up players. I really think they are going all out on a massive money saving gamble this season.
  17. Would anybody be surprised if we signed nobody at all ? I wouldn't.
  18. It was well documented at the time Tosin cost a hefty wedge but how do they assess loan fees ? A fee plus wage contribution, just fee or just overal wages total ? I'll have to disagree with Sharpe on this one.
  19. The loan fees for Tosin, Reed etc must've been well north of 1 million maybe even a million on it's own just for Tosin. Those players helped keep an average side in mid table and we are facing similar dilemmas now imo. Going off last season there's an outside chance we can replicate it with a few decent additions. Only if JDT comes up with an unexpected functional formula that last a few months though.
  20. Must admit i did chuckle at that one being cat A in order to fleece the 1500 Wigan massive.
  21. Last years match by match pricing structure was plain stupid how people get paid good money to come up with that i'll never know. This time looks far more sensible and about right for this league in 2022 so credit to Rovers for that they've looked and learnt.
  22. If it was just about success he could probably have stayed at Malmo and competed to win the league again and be in the Champs league. He obviously wants to test different waters and the EPL is known all over Europe as one of the toughest. Probably has a higher profile across the world than the Scandanavian top leagues and quite a few others. So there's a lot to like even if he's taken on a huge task. Perhaps he rushed into it a bit at the last min although iv'e no doubt there was some big talk helped tempt him.
  23. Blah blah blah. Let it drop you're too far in your own opinion to grasp what i was saying anyway. If you think Blackburn Rovers gate income alone is enough to sustain much other than mid table league 1 football then fair enough. Let's hope we never find out.
