Yep they were finally out from under their rocks all over social media last week after waiting months for the opportunity. Like i said last season it's like they are Tony Mowbray fans first and Rovers fans second but hes reverted to type in typical fashion. And as if by magic there's no sign of the 'should have kept Tony' brigade this week thank god.

Less is more to Steve. Less fans paying more that is, which means less stewards, turnstiles, less cleaning up staff etc etc Poundshop operator, think small.

I watch him closely tonight and don't underestimate his contribution to that result. He was putting his foot in all over the park and doing a bit of shithousing as well generally grabbing, pushing, holding. He also won quite a few headers from clearances although they went nowhere in particular. Just a pity he has zero idea in front of goal unless it's on a plate.

Enjoyed that 2nd half as much as anything in a long while we did everything but finish them off. Fully deserved victory though can't pick fault in anyone tonight they all grafted from first till last. That's what we are all about with this style. I was pissed off at first with the number of fans missing and lack of home atmosphere it was like a live tv game. Then after 20 mins i thought no bloody wonder people are swerving even local derbies now with the lack of entertainment on offer, one shot in 24 mins was it ? However a great goal crafted and finished off and from then on there was no lack of attacking. I feared the usual shut up shop on 65 mins job from JDT but to be fair they kept trying to go for it which is a new one at 1 nil up. Definitely signs of progress and a clearer picture of what he's trying to do in the last few games. Defensively and effort wise we were excellent throughout and even Gallagher, although he has the strikers nouse of a centre half, got through a lot of important work in other ways. Tonight really highlighted again the lack of a proper central striker/poacher especially with someone like Thomas. We haven't had one for so long though it's no wonder we've forgotten what it's all about in the penalty area. Shit ref again, Blackpool like Wigan aren't much good up top but these sides are so hard to play against. That's as good a 3 points as any other this season regardless of opposition, hope we go into QPR with tails up now, nothing to fear.

Hes built from the back and his focus is the whole team defending so it's made is stronger in that regard than we've been in a long time. Mowbray built from the front then basically just recruited bodies and swapped them around. Never had the defensive cohesion we've seen under JDT aside from a short spell last season. TMs teams were generally better in attack though but i remain hopeful as time goes on JDT can find a better formula to link up back to front with some pace and fluidity. The signing of Thomas shows he's not oblivious to the issues but he really needs to get the team on the front foot more often earlier in games. -
Lenihen has gone to a more ambitious club than Rovers with an owner driven on getting them back up there so it's no wonder he is bragging. He realised last season like one or two others Rovers didn't match his own ambitions and his move has so far proved him right.

So all of a sudden FFP isn't an issue and all these players we miss out on or won't loan in because of the wages is forgotten. Strangest club in England this is. -

A game like Blackpool is the perfect opportunity for a re-engagement fixture. Localish but not a rival, no real potential for mass aggro but potential to get an 18/20k crowd on priced cheap. Better trying something with these type of fixtures instead of leaving it until late in the season then doing daft bundles that put 2/300 in the gate. Many of who might have turned up anyway. It takes real effort but we never make any because in truth they cannot be bothered. Much easier to just let the usual 11.5k home fans turn up on a Tues night and a couple of thousand visitors. -

Two home games in the space of a few days and one of them a derby of sorts might have been a perfect time for some kind of imaginative tickets offer. -

Please don't be comparing Armistice day to kneeling for some career criminal political proven corrupt movement. You know the point i'm making in general lets get football back to being about football, local community stuff goes hand in hand with that but on the wider spectrum lets leave that crap out. -

But it was soooo easy to find another average manager if that's the case. Which re-enforces my oft mentioned point over the last 3 years that Mowbray was way overrated by a large slice of or small fanbase. -

Might be something do with both knees having been repaired rather than one he'd have to be from a marvel comic for it not to have some sort of effects. -

I don't mind Garret from the bits we've seen he seems to have something about him but of course hes been written off already. He needs bringing along properly not just throwing in then hooking out and again our midfield if it's being rotated should be based around our players first. Lad needed a 6 month loan and some decent action whilst he builds up his strength in an ideal world. -

Great point and i'll also throw in the early round cup games as well he made some brave calls there. Vital mins for young players. -

Yeah that doesn't help although i was thinking about the whole thing. No kneeling no politics no pandering or virtue signalling and no socio/economic or being told what to think/say/do....just frigging football and a football atmosphere. It seems we have to go these days to either be lectured too or pay tribute to something on another continent all with nothing to do with the game itself. As you say though if you're looking forward to the actual match it's palpable but it's like football even at championship level when it's not even live tv is a walking billboard for everything else. -

One day it would be nice just to go to a game and have nothing shoved in your face except a decent atmosphere and good attacking game of football. -

Pears and JRC this season are great examples of how more patience is going to be needed with some players now given the way the club operates. -
I think the real issues are... It's a long time since we won a game or even looked like doing. It's a long long time since we played really well for even three quarters of a game win lose or draw. We look the same in every game and it isn't gathering any wins. Weds night it was the same old routine and looked a nailed on 0-1 defeat until a point was snatched by an individual piece of excellence. ... so despite the decent effort of two draws on the road all of the above points come together to form the opinions that we haven't seen anything remotely to suggest anything other than a long old grind until May.

Think we might grind a win in this one with Dack netting in the first half and a long painful defensive second period with the usual lets try to hang on subs. Rovers 1 Swans 0 12,107 -

All things considered he wasn't horrendous but i agree on the Lowe etc thing Bowyer was a weak manager with some real blind spots. As for Mowbray and top 6 i'm really not convinced on that and whilst GB was water treading us Mowbray was floundering around in a lower league with Coventry. I really don't think there is a right lot between them if i'm being honest. -
He was never that bad he just had a stinker at Wigan and was tarred with the Mowbray nepotism brush. Keeper must be the biggest confidence driven position on the field and he's now proved himself a perfectly able number 2 to TK.
-
Exactly, Dack is back he isn't still on a comeback at all at his age now he is as fit and strong as he'll be. He's been involved in countless games since the back end of last season and all that's missing has been a run of scoring form. Which he has been in recently but still gets hooked early second half for a defensive forward. It's sod all to do with player management it is game management .. i.e batten down the hatches from the front and hang on.

Stranger things have happened. -
The fact that hes started doing it on 60 ish mins means it's clearly tactical especially when you see who he swaps him with. 70 mins onwards maybe it's a bit more understandable fitness and game management wise. JDT itches to go even more defensive early in every second half we are winning or drawing. It's being brushed away a bit because we got the point and on paper it's a decent result, however it was almost the last kick of the game. The point was rescued from a set piece, it was 0-0 when he made the changes.

BBD wasn't much better but he scored.
