  1. It's all about the replacement, all he needs to be is competent but what he's likely to be is JRC !
  2. Exactly this but as usual nobody is accountable and these plonkers continue to collect their over inflated wages whilst someone else tries to clear up the mess.
  3. I genuinely think that is the gamble they are going to take though.
  4. Forget about Mowbray and the waffle, 3 decent signings whether loan or not and a few more promoted will show mid table in this league isn't the rocket science his fanboys liked to believe. Fine margins though, no decent signings and only using our own will have those same fanboys calling for ol'Tone and throwing the usual abuse blaming fans for his departure. Mid table would be a blessing once the knocks and niggles kick in. The recruitment dept needs to be recruiting.
  5. Like the manager situation he'll again tell us who we were interested in and interviewed. Push him on that and he'll have no answer and then get a bit defensive then the snowflakes pop up with the usual excuses. Round and round we go, meanwhile a couple of young loans that no one knows will be being lined up quietly.
  6. Also didn't seem robust enough for the championship and easily frustrated. Beggars can't be choosers though he was better than Paul Caddis or playing a midfielder there. Sadly i think we'll see JRC in rwb again.
  7. So it really does look like Mowbray and Venus have been doing a good job of getting our players ready for the bright lights of Smogland. Agent Tony the humble honest ( you'll get bigger wages at boro lads) nice guy.
  8. We'll also have a bank overdraft and in the past external loans have at times been used, so yes we will owe. Just not enough to be in the mire.
  9. Or the advisor has told Gregg Broughton to draw up another one within lower wage range targets.
  10. This i feel is what they've signed up for and that's why having got their names on 2 or 3 year contracts there'll be no toys out the pram if we do nothing in this window. It's a risky strategy by the club/ownership/middlemen or whoever really runs it but its always been on the cards. Last season gave them a green light to go a step further but they obviously realized old Tone didn't have the stomach for it.
  11. I agree i think JDT knows the task hes taken on and he'll only become aware of Vs way of working as we go along. He has a DoF to work with so most of those issues will be GB's to deal with. Usually though when a new manager comes in he gets at least one of the players he wants to bring in. Like a gesture of goodwill so lets hope he has his eye on a good striker somewhere as his marquee signing. 99% likely to be a loan obviously.
  12. It's quite a convenient excuse to throw about though. Park knew who was leaving and what positions in the squad require filling, he also knows the domestic market better than JDT's team i assume. So to rip up his entire list might be a bit of a pointless thing to do, he'd also brought a certain type of scout in which was signed off by GB. RIP to one of them by the way.
  13. The last HoR has only just left and stayed on to put plans in place and line players up. That's not assumption that's the official line.
  14. Burnley are aiming to go straight back up with a squad or largely Prem players. Rovers are aiming to get through another season of developing our own players whilst keeping our heads above water. It's not ideal it's not the way i'd have it but it is the way it is. Balls to Burnley.
  15. I'm not convinced assurances mean a right lot in football as anybody can promise or agree to anything. Only to leave it hanging and offer a few excuses or go back on it completely and just say plans have had to change. Aside from anything contractual it's all always a bit up in the air in regards to assurances. I think we can also gather from experience Vs and co are good at telling people what they want to hear. Also very very good at staying silent soon afterwards.
  16. Pity the fools who seriously thought we'd pay 3 million for this player anyway. Stop allowing yourselves to be still fed the same line of tripe as when Mowbray was here. 'Oh we are in for x,y,z at million this 30 grand a week that'. These things are never happening and never ever were. Rovers go straight to the C lists the others are just for the shop window.
  17. The bias towards Utd in the 90's was something to behold but not in a good way, as it was for Liverpool in the 80's. Strangely enough VAR seemed to work for them a few seasons ago as well. Non of this is imagined although we might go over the top sometimes with the assumptions. The whole world clearly sees the favoritism but wherever the really big bucks are the powerbrokers are always onside.
  18. Pickering we were distraught at first when he was out of the team and Edun played there. The injury did seem to hamper him though or maybe it was just the step up finding him out. All he really needs though is to rediscover a bit of pace and he should be fine. Hopefully this manager doesn't see converted lower league mids as the answer to full backs.
  19. They aren't journos really anymore they are just reporters. Ask the odd basic question that gets a basic answer then report it, get told what people want them to hear then report it. Biggest challenge they have is trying to fill inches when there' nothing happening.
  20. If we look at his Rovers article it's clear hes just read it somewhere else then put his own unique 'might, might not' spin on it. Bluster merchant.
  21. If they'd got the right agent hawking him around i think there might have been a market for him.
  22. Knowing what they knew at the time they should have tried to sell Rothwell last summer, there'd be an extra million or two in the pot. He would have represented good business even if they'd only got 2 million or near that instead of nothing. We could still have had a good season without him and going off what we'd seen up to that point he was replaceable, albiet with i different type. That's what trading clubs do but this lot haven't a scooby do about that, hopefully a DoF changes that dynamic.
  23. Wasn't Ayala fit for the back end of the season but just not picked ? I forget if that was the case but think it might have been, the guy is a class defender but was always unlikely to offer much value for money.
  24. If we think back to when he had a larger squad Mowbray often took the piss on many levels just to try and keep players involved. I sincerely hope we've moved on from that now, integrating youth is one thing but moving your favs around the team is another all together.
