Ballsing up one deal you can maybe say yeah it was complex but they clearly weren't prepared to sort anything like that quickly. Messing up two deals though that takes some doing one the other one was perfectly straight forwards. So if we had another one or two lined up as well presumably they wouldn't have gone through either ? It's beyond words.

Don't want to see BBD becoming the scapegoat now for some hes had these spells before he just needs a goal. He's going through a spell they all go through but hes got into scoring positions several times in this period hes just pulled the trigger wrong. No point getting on his back quicker now because he's leaving we've known that all along it's up to the management to make big calls now. Seems their answer is to turn out enmass tonight at the U23s to see what we already know about a few of those on display. Harry Leonard will be the next included in the 'it's a young side' excuse book.

Non just the usual silence until a few boos when Dack was taken off. Felt a bit sorry for the team coming to applaud the BBE at the end and getting nothing back, not a good performance but the effort was there. Coping it for the failing of others to some degree.

We can defend quite well playing like last night so i actually fancy us to nick a point if he picks the right team. We are the draw specialists after all ........but don't look like scoring even a fluke. Watford 0 Rovers 0

They brought it on themselves last night, yes fans were getting frustrated but that was after about 70 mins of stodge then subs that didn't go down too well. When 7 mins of injury time went up it was Wigan bottom of the league looking like they were trying to win it not hang on for a vital point.

Unlike Mowbray he won't hang around whilst surrounding himself with his mates he'll be off to a nice job back abroad. Although we need to decide are we gutted if he does or relieved because he isn't really up to it here ? There's a lot of double standards creeping in. -
Worst thing for me was how disjointed and clueless we are as an attacking force and its been that way all season. Shows up more in games like that where there are opportunities to attack and punish poor opposition but we cannot string a telling pass together. Thought we were decent defensively and good to see Wharton, Carter, JRC playing well and gelling although Wigan don't offer much. Midfield miles more bite to it with Travis looking more like his old self, Buckley some good stuff and some asleep stuff as usual. I don't want to see Morton starting again but iv'e no doubt he will, came on last night and first thing he does when everyone of forward and under no real pressure is a 50 yard back pass ! Up top though it was a case of WFT all night barring the good early move that saw BBD clean through, he's off form and needs a benching. No idea what they are trying to do with Dack but it didn't suit him last night although he worked hard he's over cooking it with the attempted fancy passes. Vale ? been saying it all season the lad should not start and should be used from the bench or better still be on loan. He's like a powder puff lost kid. Non of them gel though they don't make the runs and don't seem to know when to but he really isn't the answer as a central striker. Nice that his pals come on here to defend him but he really isn't ready for this level. Then we have Thomas who i thought was a good debut however our lot haven't had a good winger since Conway's early days. The forwards have no idea what to do when he got the ball. So we bring Gally on up top, throws himself at a few crosses then the brains in the dugout take bloody Thomas off !!! JDT's use of subs is ridiculous at times and this is reminding me of Bowyers bland uninspiring 'development' style football, just with a weaker more naive squad.

So what ? We could spend 20 million and storm this league then still get painfully folded like a deckchair most weeks in the Prem. All this build for a sustainable Prem club is such BS it's like selling a bridge to the Yanks. The ONLY way for Blackburn Rovers to become a sustainable Prem club is do whatever it takes to get there first. Then you bite the bullet and start the new rebuild with the parachute money or if you're lucky enough to stay up. One season up there no matter how painful on the pitch should financially reset the whole club. Somehow i think some will need reminding of this in a season or two when we are likely dossing around in lower mid again still having 20 mill a year run through the books. -
Great night for footy under the lights hopefully they are motivated and get stuck in to get the fans warmed up and into it.

This is the what we are going to get though they are clearly fishing around for the next BBD type project striker. Hirst, loan to buy 5 mill fee agreed - flop, sense seen and sent back, on to the next one, freebie but will probably cost double in wages now. Maybe he'll price himself out of it. If i was JDT i'd be telling them in no uncertain terms when Ben leaves we need a proper goalscorer otherwise we are fecked and i'm off ! -
I dunno just watch him regularly in the pre match warm up shooting drills, certain defenders hit the target more often.
-
A creative striker with a one chance one goal ratio !
-
I wouldn't slam the door on Vale he's come through the academy and won't cost much in wages and has been a handy squad man. Problem is when you end up relying on players like this for goals in a system that creates little to nothing, he might be good foil for a decent striker in a different system. Yet another imo he just isn't really suited to how we play at the moment and is best used as a sub to come on and close games out.

You employ somebody whose job was identifying young Welsh players it's no surprise that's going to be his first port of call here. Good players or just the best available from a very small pool there ? I guess we'll find out in due course. -
Nobody will find them i presume they are scattered around Monaco now living off the legacy.

It's needed, i hope we keep Dack he always offers something a bit different but i suspect he'll leave. Nothing against Gallagher but it's time for a change there they need to perform a minor miracle and get a couple of quid for him before he's another who walks for nowt. His 15/20k a week can certainly be put to better use. -

I'd say there is a combination of both. -
So it's Wigan who normally spank us there whilst we beat them here but now we'll probably become draw specialists and finish every game in Feb all square. Rovers 1 Wigan 1 13,251 Everybody needs to get behind the lads ffs, last people to blame for the fiasco are JDT and the players. A few sack the boards wouldn't do any harm though...

This has been the number one issue since relegation. It doesn't take people long to suss out how to work it and how sucking up to the owners and toeing the line trumps anything else at Ewood. Do that and they'll persist with you even if you are inept. -

Nobody in the last decade plus of this nightmare has ever stood up held their hands up and took responsibilty for a cock up. Got to give Broughton respect for that it's not easy sitting there knowing your fans are raging as is a lot of staff and outside the club you are a laughing stock. The guy has owned and although it doesn't make it right it at least shows he gives a stuff unlike that slug hidden in the shadows. A small tiny positive is he'd got this player in after clearly seeing we need more in midfield and that's his job so he's done that.It doesn't gloss over the ineptitude but hopefully they'll root that out and boot it out if it was as careless or possibly dodgy as it sounds. -

I doubt any of them went beyond the enquiry stage once the wages were quoted. -

We've been 'close' to signing a striker on deadline day for the past 3 windows at least now. Never happens because it's either just window dressing or we were never really that serious. Only one way to do it i'm afraid and that is spend some money. -

Are they not just asking if there was a relegation clause in his wages as well ? Perfectly entitled to do that in regards to a club who have been in some sort of embargo twice in the last 8 years. -

It's another clear sign or the resentment still bubbling under the surface because most know the club is still run by a shower of uninterested self servers. I don't include GB and JDT in that. -

'Something' Joe is not at fault here 'someone' is these things don't just do it by themselves that's why there is a whole debate. Might be a mistake, might have been someone stalling on purpose but going off what Nixon has said there is blame and someone is accountable. Nothing sinister about that.
