  1. They want a foreign coach just for the sake of it and whilst a smokescreen of interesting names was thrown up they've been beavering around in the cheaper Scandanavian market by looks of it. Now it's a straight shootout between the likes of JDT or British inexperienced and cheap coach to step up. Woodgate would absolutely reek of the continuing Boro connection that seemingly now lives under the surface at Ewood. Miss out or get turned down by JDT there really is nowhere else to go but Ferguson, Woodgate or the HSH scrapheap. We could end up there anyway all by design after a month of the usual smoke and mirrors.
  2. The fans just like promotion has never been much of a consideration under this ownership. Helped it seems by some of the people they employ knowing they get paid the same whatever. So expectation, costs and hassle are easier to manage the less turn up and similar low income can be maintained by constant price rises to cover it. It's a controlled orchestrated gradual downgrade that's easier to implement than gradual sustained growth. That gradual sustained growth should have started after league 1 promotion on the back of a 3-5 year plan. Instead we are fast resembling a league 1 club in the Championship off the pitch.
  3. Not only were crowds the highest they'd been for a while under Allardyce due to some sensible ticket initiatives but the club was still sustainable for the time being. Losing c5 mill a season and managing its wage bill whilst looking towards a new tv deal to boost income even further. It certainly wasn't all rosy obviously as the gaff was up for sale by the ingrate offspring and being hawked around by a spiv. However lets not have the usual revisionists altering it to fit their narrative as usual as at that point in time things weren't bad at all. We were probably only a decent percentage football center forward away from regular top ten finishes again. We only owed the overdraft, still had players with value beyond the debt and were run by people who specialized in having this club punching above its weight.
  4. They shouldn't overvalue it either in an area like this which essentially is the point they've gone beyond now to a lot of people.
  5. Look at the stupid ticket pricing for matches last season then the climb downs plus some of the idiotic 'bundle' deals. If the club want cost cutting they should start with this berk, only in this stupid industry do people get employed to sit there and come up with ideas that go against everything that is actually needed. He would perhaps be better suited working for the Govt than what used to be a big club in a small town but has now very purposely been shrunk to match its surroundings.
  6. Is he the reason they don't do the odd quid a kid games anymore ? Don't recall any of those for a while but maybe this guy is ahead of the curve trying to empty Ewood and get the next gen signed up to watch on their phones. After they've watched Liverpool and City of course. Or maybe he's just another useless out of touch prick whose paper qualifications defy his actual lack of proven track record ? I remember using Hull City a season or two ago as an example of why our crowds weren't that bad, looking at a club from a far bigger city. Who'd gone from 20k gates to around half that under stupid ownership, all makes sense now if they employ plumbs like this one.
  7. I wish mate ! Took an evening off stressing about Rovers to watch the boxing but stuck to coffee ( 1 can of Punk IPA doesn't count ) Coming on here before bed isn't a good recipe for sleep though once you read about some of the goons down there.
  8. That employee should be sacked on the spot if anything screams we are just here for a wage it's those type of comments. Disgusting to be honest, a complete half arsed lazy bastard attitude and this is why i couldn't dialogue with people there, i'd end up arrested.
  9. Can i suggest you suggest to them to pull their fingers out and actually communicate properly and regularly with their fanbase like normal clubs do. It would save Waggots appointment book getting unreasonably full, in between your chats to him of course.
  10. He wasn't backed at a crucial time but he didn't make the best or correct use of the backing he had. That bit is on him no matter how many other excuses get offered he was allowed to bring in 4 players -- at a crucial time. That's why he'd never be anything other than the bang average guy he was there isn't much evidence to suggest he'd have been successful with 5 million quid in January.
  11. Well Waggot can't blame covid for this seasons drop off so god knows what he'll offer up to hide behind this time. His resignation would be nice.
  12. They only bought Duffy in as a quick turnaround to give games to then sell again. Whilst i know we need to be a trading club in certain ways the whole philosophy was wrong for years with a look to polish and turn around for a quick buck mentality. Agents running the show though then and afterwards we end up with a former solid top league center half with an aversion to finding similar to himself managing the show. That's why we are heading back to square one again defense wise.
  13. What we need is the next Eddie Howe like he did at Bournemouth. If Johnson had stayed boss of the U23s or been given a role as no 2 or 3 on the touchline for a few years then maybe he'd have been the man. It was an odd move that for numerous reasons given his stock was so high at the time. He must like the role he does now though to have stuck at it and taken it in the first place.
  14. And our lot knew this but were happy to play along by letting local journos assume we are all but offering them the job.
  15. Who is telling the journo this ? Or is it just assumption based on hearsay ? As usual never any meat on the bones because they are probably getting their information from Nixon. Why aren't they hunting down someone from the club or ownership and asking them direct.
  16. That's the absolute crux of the matter - No Accountability It suits so many down there to just pass the buck or shrug their shoulders and that will never change under this model. Everyone just assumes it's the owners fault, mostly it is but those employed willingly hide behind it. The local media are an absolute joke also as they hold power to try and bring people to account but they never do. They just say oh we've asked and they've not got back to us then they shrug their shoulders. And everyone assumes again it's the owners fault but never call them out either.
  17. Top managers don't fit the club though apparently so no point the owners paying for one.
  18. Billionaires who chuck 15/20 million away per season but simply refuse to hire a top quality manager and his staff. There are no words to describe the thought processes of these people.
  19. Doubt he'll be doubling his wages but he'll probably have a nice signing on fee. Second point i agree nobody is bigger than the club but the timing and nature of some departures can be damaging and doesn't reflect well. Hell some over 60s still harp on about Derek bloody Dougan. My original point still stands those rumours came out a good while ago before interest in the players became public. There's nothing to move on from we know the previous regime had shithouses in it once they knew their time was up.
  20. Hes been asking for an interview with Waggot for months about Mowbrays position and season tickets ! So i wouldn't be expecting much from him in regards to this. The club seem to dictate the LTs narrative these days without any fear of being called out on anything.
  21. Funny how these two who were allegedly advised to get more money elsewhere look set to sign for 2 of Mowbray and Venus ex clubs.
  22. They seem to have trawled around everywhere else wasting peoples time not being serious about anyone. Now the C list present Scandanvian options who are likely to accept less wages and have less expectations than most of the others. Especially the ones out of work or maybe not tied in with big compen packages. 'The flex'
  23. Ayala is a class defender at this level but i'd say it'll be near impossible to get 10 straight starts out of him. Given age and wages as well if there is an opportunity to let him go without having to pay him up it's probably best. However on the back of Lenihen going and no JPVH i'm really beginning to get concerned about this coming season. This new DoF and incoming whomever better have some solid defensive ideas and good contacts. Because they'll have nee brass.
  24. We absolutely presented them that first half they couldn't believe their luck being about to pass it out from the back so easily. Second half we just switched to something a bit more sensible and they'd no answer. I'm really not getting this sudden love in for Rooney on here but if push came to shove he's more experience than Ferguson.
